Pepperl+Fuchs V1D-G-ABG-PG9-Q3, V1SD-G-ABG-PG9-Q3 Operating instructions

  • Hello! I've reviewed the instructions for the Pepperl+Fuchs shielded connectors V1D-G-ABG-PG9-Q3 and V1SD-G-ABG-PG9-Q3. This document provides detailed guidance on connecting and reconnecting these CAT5 connectors, including cable preparation, conductor insertion, and torque specifications. I'm ready to answer any questions you might have about these connectors and the information provided in the document.
  • What type of cable is this connector suitable for?
How many times can I reconnect this connector?
What is the torque required for screwing the sleeve housing and connector front part?
What is the required torque for screwing the pressure nut and the sleeve housing?

Brief Instructions
1
V1D-G-ABG-PG9-Q3 / V1SD-G-ABG-PG9-Q3
Shielded connector with insulation displacement connection
connector 4-pole, CAT5 (100 Mbit/s)
suitable for shielded twisted pair cables
1. Cable connection
Slip the pressure nut and the sleeve housing over the cable (1).
Strip approximately 35 mm off the cable (2).
Trim the overall shield to 11 mm (2).
For outer diameters smaller than 6 mm fold the overall shield
back onto the cable sheath. Glue the supplied protective foil onto
the back-folded overall shield.
For outer diameters larger than 6 mm glue the protective foil onto
the overall shield (3).
If existing, trim the shield of the twisted pairs flush to the overall
shield.
Open the cover of the terminal block.
Insert the individual conductors from the back through the inlet
openings of the cover.
Pay attention to the color assignment during assembly of the wire
connectors (see 4). Only use one wire for each chamber.
The distance between the terminal block and the shielding must
be approx. 3 mm for straight versions and 10 mm for angled ver-
sions (5).
Cut off the protruding wires so that they are flush (6).
To contact the wires, press down the terminal block cover as far
as it will go (7).
Push the sleeve housing up to the front part of the connector.
Screw sleeve housing and connector front part with a torque of
0.8 Nm. Hold the sleeve housing in place with a wrench (8).
Using two wrenches, screw the pressure nut and the sleeve
housing with a torque of 3 Nm (9). Tightening by hand is not suf-
ficient.
2. Reconnection
You can connect the connector up to ten times with the same
conductor cross section or a larger one.
Using two wrenches, unscrew the pressure nut from the housing.
Unscrew the sleeve housing from the front part of the connector.
Open the cover of the terminal block and pull the cable back-
wards out of the cover.
Completely remove any cable residue.
Trim off the used section of the cable.
