NOTE: This card is included with the Crisis Recovery Kit #203-572-001 V1.19.
This recovery procedure allows you to reflash the BIOS on the 5055 PC when normal reflash proĆ
cedures fail to restore the BIOS.
The components required for crisis recovery are:
" A preĆprogrammed recovery hard drive (P/N: 237Ć056Ć001).
" A 25Ćpin crisis recovery plug (shown on the cover) P/N: 226Ć468Ć001.
" An external keyboard attached to the 5055 PC.

NOTE: See the 5055 User’s Guide (P/N: 961-054-017) for the proper way to remove and install a hard drive.
To initiate a crisis recovery on the 5055 PC, power the computer OFF and do the following:
1. Remove the antenna connector panel.
2. Remove the existing hard drive, if present.
3. Install the preĆprogrammed recovery drive.
4. Connect the crisis recovery plug to the parallel port and power the computer ON.
5. Several seconds will pass and a series of beeps" are emitted from the computer. When the
unit goes silent the recovery is complete.
6. Power the computer OFF, remove the crisis recovery plug and the recovery hard drive.
7. Reinstall the original hard drive (if applicable), reinstall the antenna connector panel, power
the computer ON.
If a problem occurs during the recovery process, power the computer OFF, restart the computer,
and repeat the crisis recovery procedures above.
