Congratulations for selecting the Bladez BF-850E Elliptical as your primary source of
fitness. The Bladez Elliptical offers many exercise programs that benefit users of all levels
and ages. The BF-850E is designed to make your workouts more effective and enjoyable.
Please read this manual carefully before using the BF-850E. This will allow you to get a full
understanding of all the features the Bladez Elliptical provides. If you have questions or

SECTION 1
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read all instructions before using the elliptical.
Notice: Before using this or any other exercise equipment consult your family physician
or health care professional to develop a well planned exercise program to fit your health
needs. If you encounter any pain or breathing discomfort while working out, STOP!, and
consult a physician before continuing.
WARNING!
1. It is wise to always unplug this appliance from the electrical outlet immediately after use.
2. Keep children away from machine while in use.
3. Do not wear loose or dangling clothing while using the elliptical.
4. Maximum user weight of this elliptical is 300 lbs.
5. Keep a minimum clearance of 18” on each side and 24” at the rear of the elliptical for
safety.
6. It is mandatory that you unplug the elliptical prior to cleaning to reduce the risk of
electric shock, serious burns, and the risk of injuries.
7. The elliptical should never be left unattended when in operation. Unplug the elliptical
from the outlet when not in use or when servicing the elliptical.
8. Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by or near children, invalids,
or disabled persons.
9. Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual.
10. Do not use any attachment not recommended by the manufacturer.
11. Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, or if it is not working
properly. Call your service center for any service concerns before taking your elliptical in
for repair.
12. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
13. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
14. Do not use outdoors.
15. Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being
administered.
16. To disconnect, turn all controls to the off position, then remove plug from outlet.
17. This appliance is intended for household use only.

POWER SUPPLY
Your BF-850E Elliptical uses a two prong external power supply for use on a nominal
110-120-volt circuit. Use only the power supply provided with your BF-850E Elliptical. If you
misplace this power supply, please contact Bladez for an original replacement. Use of the
wrong power supply may cause damage to your BF-850E Elliptical. No adapter or
extension cord should be used with this product.

For safety, it is recommended that a minimum of two people assemble this elliptical
trainer.
STEP 1. Assemble the Front Stabilizer (56) to frame (1) with Bolts (155), Washers (157,
158) and acorn nuts (156).
STEP 2. Assemble Rear Stabilizer Cover (182) to Rear Stabilizer (63) with Bolts (43).

STEP 3. Assemble Rear Stabilizer (63) to Frame (1) with Bolts (163), Washers (157, 158)
and Acorn Nuts (156). Hand tighten the bolts until the next step.
STEP 4. Complete attachment of Rear Stabilizer (63) and Frame (1) with Bolts (163) and
Washers (157, 158) and then tighten Bolts in step 2. When using, daub some
Lubricant (172) onto orbit of Rear Stabilizer.

STEP 5. Set Upper Frame Cover (41) on Upright (45) and connect Upper Controller Wire
(51) with Middle Controller Wire (31). Attach Upright to Frame (1) with Bolts (152)
and Washers (148, 154).
STEP 6. Insert Upper Control Wire (51) into back tie-in of the Computer (138) and connect
Hand Pulse Wire (52) with Computer Outer Wire. Attach Computer on Upright
(45) with Bolts (140).

STEP 7. Slide Wave Washer (84) onto the Frame (1). Attach left and right Pedal
Assemblies (111, 112) to Frame (1) with Bolts (146) and Washers (147, 148) and
then cap with Screw Cover (143). When assembling, pay attention to the “L” and
“R” tabs on pedal assemblies.
STEP 8. Slide Cap Cover (46) and Wave Washer (18) onto the Upright (45). Assemble left
and right Handrails (131, 132) to Upright (45) with Bolts (146) and Washers (148,
151) and then cap with Screw Cover (143). When assembling, pay attention to
the “L” and “R” tabs on Handrails.

STEP 9. Align the “L” and “R” tabs on Handrail and Rocker and then assemble left and
right Rockers (70, 71) to left and right Handrails (131, 132) with Bolts (159),
Washers (160, 161) and Acorn Nuts (162).
STEP 10. Assemble left and right Rockers (70, 71) and left and right Pedal Assembly (111,
112) with Bolts (116) and Nylon Nut (115).

STEP 11. Assemble Pedals (144) to left and right Pedal Assemblies (111, 112) with Bolts
(167).
STEP 12. Remove Screws (49) from Upright (45) and assemble Bottle Holder (142) to
Upright with Screws (49). Insert Bottle (141) into Bottle Holder.

STEP 13. Adjust frame to level and lift middle adjustment Foot Pad (69) to let the middle of
the frame hang in the air. Then adjust rear adjustment foot pad of the frame until
frame is level and adjust middle adjustment foot pad to floor. Adjust Nut (181)
with Open Spanner (180) to tighten adjustment foot pad.
Display Section
STEP 14. Depending on individual needs, the distance between the left and right Pedals
(144) can be adjusted. Turn the knob (126) to adjust the distance. A number from
1 to 5 will appear in the window at the top of each pedal. Please refer to Display
Section above.

STEP 15. Insert Adaptor (145) into power jack of Frame (1). Be sure you are using the AC
adaptor that came with your elliptical. Assembly is now complete.

SECTION 4 - COMPUTER CONSOLE DESCRIPTIONS
NOTE: There is no ON/OFF button. To turn on the display from SLEEP MODE, press
any button or begin pedaling. You can then set up a new program or start a previous
workout from where you left off. You will hear a confirmation “Beep” when you press
any key.
A. START/STOP Press the START/STOP button to begin your workout. If you press
this button while the timer is running, it will go to PAUSE MODE.
B. RECOVERY PULSE
At the end of the workout, immediately press the
RECOVERY PULSE button while continuing to hold the contact heart rate bars. The
TIME display will count down from 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, the computer will
calculate and provide a fitness rating of 1 to 6, 1 being the best. Press RECOVERY
PULSE again to return to the main display.
C. RESET With the timer stopped (Pause Mode) press this button to reset to START
MODE. You can then select a different program and change other settings. If you press
and hold RESET for 2 seconds it will reset back to USERS (U1-U4) setting mode.
D. UP and DOWN ARROWS –
Press these buttons to change the current value
during setup or to adjust the resistance level during your workout.
E. MODE
Press to enter function or data input.
F. FAN Press to turn on/off personal cooling fan.
G. CONSOLE LCD WINDOW – This window displays all information for programming
the BF-850E including the program profiles and resistance level bars. It also displays
the following information: RPM, SPEED, TIME, DISTANCE, CALORIES, WATT, and
PULSE (HEART RATE).
RPM: Pedal revolutions per minute.
SPEED: The speed you are traveling in miles per hour.
TIME: The amount of time you have been working out (Count Up) or the time remaining
in your workout (Count Down).
DISTANCE: The distance in miles that you have traveled during your workout.
CALORIES: The number of calories burned during your workout.
WATT: The International System unit of power measurement. One watt is roughly equal
to 4.2 calories per hour or 6 kilogram-meters per minute.
PULSE (HEART RATE): Your heart rate in beats per minute.

COMPUTER CONSOLE MODES and PROGRAMMING
A. START MODE: After power is connected, the unit will beep and all segments of the
Console LCD Window will light for 2-3 seconds.
Use UP or DOWN buttons to select U1 (User number 1) to U4 (User number 4) as the
user's identification.
The unit will then be in START MODE as shown below.
“P”, “MANUAL”, “PROGRAM”, “USER”, and “TARGET H.R.” will be blinking.

1. MANUAL - Press ▼▲ until MANUAL appears at the top of the display. “P” and
“MANUAL” will be blinking. Press MODE to confirm MANUAL PROGRAM.
“RESISTANCE LEVEL” bar will begin to blink. Press the ▼▲ buttons to set the
resistance level of your workout. You can set the resistance to 1 of 16 levels. The
default resistance level is 1. Press MODE to confirm resistance level setting.
“TIME” will begin to blink. Press the ▼▲ buttons to set the time of your workout.
You can set the time in one minute increments. The default time setting is 20:00. If
you do not set the time, the timer will count up from 0.00. Press MODE to confirm
time setting.
“DISTANCE” will begin to blink. Press the ▼▲ buttons to set up distance in .1 mile
increments. If you do not set the distance, the distance display will count up from 0.
Press MODE to confirm distance setting.
“CALORIES” will begin to blink. Press the ▼▲ buttons to set up calories in
increments of 5. If you do not set calories, the calories display will count up from 0.
Press MODE to confirm calories setting.
“WATT” will begin to blink. Press the ▼▲ buttons to set the desired value in
increments of 10. If you do not set watts, the watt display will count up from 0. Press
MODE to confirm watt setting. Note: the watt setting can only be changed in the
Manual program.
If you have preset WATT, resistance will be auto-adjusted depending on the current
speed and watt values. Symbols will appear to help your training:
You need to slow down the training speed.
You need to speed up the training.
------- This is to remind you that the current WATT is OVER SPEC, and you need to
speed up or slow down training speed accordingly.
