Transition Networks 1000MCC-1
The Transition Networks 1000MCC-1 is a Gigabit Ethernet mode conditioning cable that allows network managers to upgrade their multimode backbone to gigabit speeds without costly recabling. The cable eliminates the effects of Differential Mode Delay (DMD) by providing an offset launch of the single-mode core into the 62.5 or 50 µm multimode core. This allows for Gigabit Ethernet transmission over multimode fiber up to 500 m when used with compatible converters.
The 1000MCC-1 is a low-cost alternative to recabling and is IEEE-802.3z compliant.
