SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
This appliance should not be used outdoors.
This appliance is intended for indoor, domestic household use
only. It is not intended to be used in the following applications,
and the guarantee will not apply for:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working
environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type
environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance
by an adult responsible for their safety. Children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Accessible surface temperatures can be high when the
appliance is operating.
Before first use remove all packaging materials, stickers and
accessories from the inside and the outside of the appliance.
Fully unwind the power cord.
Make sure that the electric power supply is compatible with the
power rating and voltage indicated on the bottom of the
appliance.
Always plug the appliance into an earthed socket.

If it is necessary to use an extension lead ensure that it is of
suitable construction and power rating, with an earth
connection; take all necessary precautions to prevent anyone
tripping over an extension cord.
If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer or its service agent in order to avoid a hazard.
The power supply cord should be regularly examined for signs of
damage, and if the cord is damaged, the appliance must not be
used.
This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an
external timer or separate remote-control system.
Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
The plug-in connector and its cord must not be immersed in
water. Never immerse the plug-in connector and its cord in
water.
Only the appropriate connector must be used.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older
than 8 and supervised.
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than
8 years.

Read the instructions carefully, common to different versions depending on the accessories supplied with
your appliance, and keep them within reach.
Before first use, wash the plate (follow paragraph after use), pour a little cooking oil onto the plate and
wipe with a soft cloth or paper kitchen towel.
If the appliance is used in the centre of the table, keep it out of the reach of children.
The appliance must be placed and used on a flat, stable, heat-resistant work surface, away from water
splashes.
If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.
Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such
as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
Always use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damaging the cooking plate.
To prevent damage to the plate, only use it on the appliance for which they were designed (e.g., do not
place in an oven, on the gas ring or electric hot-plate, etc.).
Only use the plate supplied with the appliance or purchased from an approved service centre.
Position the power cord carefully, whether an extension is used or not, so that guests can move freely
around the table without tripping over it.

To avoid spoiling your product, do not use flambé recipes in connection with it at any time.
Do not use metal scourers or scouring powders to avoid damaging the cooking surface.
Do not remove drip tray during cooking.
If the drip tray gets filled during cooking, let the contents cool before emptying it.

Description
For your safety, this appliance conforms to all applicable standards and regulations (Low Voltage Directive,
Electromagnetic Compatibility, Food Compliant Materials, Environment...).
On first use, there may be a slight odour and a little smoke.
Do not consume foodstuff that comes into contact with the parts marked with logo.
Advice / information
Set the thermostat of plug-in connector to mini - 6.
Fully unwind the power cord - 5.
Place the drip tray on the cooking position - 2.
Connect the plug-in connector to the pins of the appliance’s heating element - 7.
Make sure that the plug-in connector is fully inserted into its housing.
Connect the cord to the main socket - 8.
Set the thermostat to suit the chosen recipe.
The indicator light lights up - 9.
Leave the appliance to pre-heat for about 5-10 minutes - 9.
After pre-heating, the appliance is ready for use.
The indicator light turns off - 9b.
• The indicator light will blink regularly while the appliance is in use.
Using
Before unplugging the appliance, set the thermostat on position mini - 12.
Unplug the appliance and leave it to cool down (minimum 2 h) - 13 - 14.
Unplug the plug-in connector - 15.
The base of the appliance can be cleaned with a sponge and a little washing-up liquid. Avoid using
scouring pads.
The plate and drip tray must be cleaned after each use, either with your usual washing-up liquid (no
scouring pad and powder or metallic sponge) or in the dishwasher - 16 - 17 - 18.
Check that the appliance is cooled and disconnected before stowing away.
Place the drip tray in the front of the appliance under the plate.
Store the appliance and the power cord in a dry place.
The appliance may be stored vertically - 19.
The plate and the drip tray are dishwasher-safe - 18.
The plug-in connector cannot be put in the dishwasher.
