The headphones are supplied with special rechargeable batteries already installed. Do not use any other type
of batteries. For replacement batteries contact the Meliconi technical support service.
This unit only accepts analogue electrical stereo audio signals e.g. those from standard headphone outputs, in input.
Therefore to connect it to a device with a different kind of audio output (digital – HDMI or optical digital – TOSLINK), an
appropriate converter/adapter will be required.
Do not use the device outdoors or in a humid environment nor expose it to water drops or sprays.
Do not install the device in an enclosed space and ensure there is adequate ventilation.
The AC power supply unit must be easily accessible to enable the electric separation of the device from the power
supply.
Disconnect the transmitter base from the electrical mains supply before performing the connections.
Do not tamper with the device – danger of electric shock. Any repair must be performed only by qualied personnel.
In the event of a fault with the AC power supply, disconnect it from the electrical socket immediately.
Do not expose the batteries or device to excessive heat, for example direct sunlight, re or similar heat sources.
HP 200
Thank you for purchasing a Meliconi product!
Meliconi’s HP 200 wireless stereo headphones system uses a wireless audio transmission technology to listen to a qual-
ity stereo sound from a wide range of audio player devices up to a maximum distance of 100 metres without obstacles,
for complete freedom of movement. The signal can pass through walls and ceilings.
The transmitter may be connected to your TV and other analogue audio sources, such as DVD and Blue Ray players,
CD players, Hi-Fi systems, radios, PCs or notebooks.
To avoid damage to hearing, do not use the headphones at loud volumes for long periods of time.
Warnings
WARNING: Do not attempt to remove the batteries or dispose of them in a re. Do not dispose of them
in the environment. Improper use can damage the environment and human health. The bin symbol,
also shown on the battery, indicates that the battery must be disposed of according to applicable reg-
ulations (EC 2006/66): familiarise yourself with the disposal methods for used batteries applicable for
your country.
The symbol of bin with a cross over it on the appliance or the packaging indicates that the product
should be disposed of separately from other refuse at the end of its life cycle. The user must therefore
hand over the appliance at the end of its life cycle to an approved recycling centre for electrical and elec-
tronic refuse, or return it to the seller each time a new or replacement appliance is purchased. Correct
disposal in separated refuse collection for subsequent recycling, treatment and environmentally friendly
disposal contributes to reducing any negative impacts on the environment and human health, and en-
courages recycling of the materials used to manufacture the appliance. Illegal disposal of the product by
the user shall result in the application of sanctions provided for in applicable legislation (in Italy, article
50 and subsequent of Legislative Decree 22/1997).

CONNECTING AN AUDIO SOURCE (after recharging the HEADPHONES)
Make sure that the transmitter base is off before making the connections.
- Remove the headphones from the charging base.
- Identify the headphone output on the TV or other audio device you wish to connect (3.5 mm stereo JACK connector). It
is usually identied with the symbol
.
WARNING make sure not to mix up the headphone output with a PC audio input present on certain TVs.
- Connect the audio connector that comes out of the base to the headphone output on the TV.
If the device does not have a headphone output see the “ALTERNATIVE AUDIO CONNECTIONS” chapter.
- With the switch N, switch on the base and the connected audio device; usually, when the headphone output is connected,
the device (TV) will no longer reproduce audio through its own speakers.
Use the TV remote control to raise the audio volume to at least 50%.
- Check that the RED “SIGNAL” indicator, indicating that an audio signal is being received by the transmitter, is on.
If it does not, try increasing the volume on the playback device (e.g. TV).
Installation
- Activate the headphones power supply by removing the insulating taps that come out of the right earpad.
- Make sure that the headphones are off, checking that the ON/OFF red indicator “A” is off. If necessary, use the POWER
button.
- Connect the AC power supply cable to the input connector “M” (DC IN) on the back of the base.
- Connect the AC power supply unit to the mains power socket.
- Switch on the base with the switch “N” on the rear (POWER).
- Select one of the 3 available channels (CHANNEL).
- Position the headphones on the base (the headphones must be off) wait for a few seconds and make sure that the green
LED “Q” (CHARGE) is on to indicate the correct contact between the headphones and the recharge spring “R”.
- Leave the headphones charging until the CHARGE indicator switches off.

Use
For normal use simply switch the headphones on and off with the “A” POWER button on the headphones.
The base transmitter will switch off automatically after 4 minutes in the absence of an input audio signal.
When the headphones are not being used, switch them off and place them on the base for recharging, see the
“BATTERY RECHARGING” section.
If the headphones are not used for a long period of time, disconnect the AC power supply from the mains power supply.
IMPORTANT
- During normal use the “S” RED (SIGNAL) indicator must remain always on. When it is off, it means that the input
audio signal to the transmitter is low or missing. Therefore turn up the volume on the TV until the indicator switches on.
To adjust the listening volume use the volume wheel “B” on the headphones and NOT the volume on the TV.
- If the audio is disturbed or missing when the headphones are switched on, go to the base and press the “C” (auto scan)
button to link the headphones to the base, which is shown by the green indicator inside the “C” button switching on.
Battery recharging
With the batteries charged the device will operate for at least 8 hours.
To recharge the batteries, switch off the headphones and place them on the base, rotating the earpads. Pay attention to
the correct contact of the recharge spring “D”, the green indicator “Q” (CHARGE) on the front of the base must be on. It
switches off when the batteries are charged.
Leaving the headphones charging on the base, even for several days, will not cause any problems.
WARNINGS:
- For safety reasons, the batteries supplied are of a special type. Never use other batteries to replace the batteries
supplied. If necessary, contact MELICONI technical support.
- When headphones are not being used, turn them off to avoid draining the batteries completely and potentially
damaging them.
- The batteries must be fully charged before you rst use the device. Always ensure that the ON/OFF switch “A” POWER
on the headphones is OFF (red indicator inside off) while recharging the batteries.
Alternative audio connections
If the audio device that you wish to use does not have a headphone output, or if you want the TV to continue reproducing
audio from its speakers, use the RCA audio sockets on the TV (red and white “OUTPUT” socket). Connect the audio
cable of the base to the RCA audio outputs of the device with the adaptor cable (2xRCA male / 3.5-mm stereo female)
included in the package.
IMPORTANT: on certain TV models you must activate the headphones audio output in the MENU, and increase the
volume so that it is sufcient for the base audio input. When the input audio signal to the base is present and sufcient,
the red indicator S (signal) on the base switches on and remains on.
- Stay close to the base and switch on the headphones with the “A” (POWER) button. Check that the red indicator inside
switches on and wait for a few moments.
- Check that the GREEN indicator “C” on the left earpad of the headphones switches on. If it does not, press the
“AUTOSCAN” button to start the pairing with the base.
- Put the headphones on and adjust the volume with the volume wheel “B” until you achieve the desired audio.
If no sound comes from the headphones, or if the audio is distorted see the “TROUBLESHOOTING” chapter.
