1. ConnecttheConductivityelectrodetotheinputsocketatthebottomofthemeter.
2. SwitchthemeterONbypressingthePOWER/ESCbutton.
3. PrepareaConductivityStandardSolution(forexample,1413uS/cm).
4. Holdtheprobebyitshandleandimmersethesensingelectrodecompletelyinthe
standardsolution.
Shake/stirthesensingelectrodetoallowtheelectrode’sinternalair
bubblestoescapefrom thesensingelectrode.
5. PresstheHOLDbuttonandthedisplaywillshowtheHOLDicon.
6. PresstheRECbuttonandtheupperdisplayareawillshowCALandthelowerdisplayarea
willshow
YES.Toabortatthispoint,simplywaitandthemeterwillreverttothenormal
operatingmode.
7. Tocontinue,presstheENTERbuttonandthedisplaywillshowtheConductivityreading,
themeasurementunit,and,shortlyafter,theflashingCALicon.Notethatthemeterwill
showENDif
theelectrodedoesnotdetectanappropriatesolutionvalue.
8. WhiletheCALiconisflashing usethearrowbuttonstoadjustthedisplayedConductivity
readingtomatchtheConductivityvalueofthesolution.
9. AfterafewsecondsthemeterwilldisplayEND.Calibrationiscomplete.

4. Thelowerdisplaywillindicatethetemperature
value.
5. Theupperdisplayshowstheconductivityvalue.
6. Holdtheelectrodeinhandandfullyimmersethesensingheadinthestandardsolution.
7. Theupperdisplaywillshowtheconductivityvalueofthemeasuredsolution.Thebottom
displaywillshowthetemperaturevalueofthemeasuredsolution.
8. Rinsetheprobewithdistilledwateraftereachuse.

probeinthemeasurementsolution.

3. Thelowerdisplayshowsthetemperature
value.
4. TheupperdisplayindicatestheTDSvalue(measuredinppm).
5. Holdtheelectrodeinhandandfullyimmersethesensingheadinthestandardsolution

onceagainandRECMAXwilldisplayonthescreenalongwiththemaximumvalue.
2. PressRECagainandthedisplay
willshowRECMINandtheminimumvaluewillbe
displayed.
3. ToreleasetheheldMAXorMINreading,presstheHOLDbutton whileeithertheRECMAX
orRECMINiconsarevisible;nowonlytheRECiconwillbevisible.The meterisnow
continuingtomonitor
thehighest(MAX)andlowest(MIN)readingsbutisdisplayingreal
timemeasurements.ToviewtheMAXandMINvaluesagainusetheRECbuttonas
describedearlier.
4. ToexittheRecordmode,pressandholdtheRECbuttonforatleast2seconds.Thedisplay
willreturntothe
normaloperatingmode.

BatteryReplacement
The9Vbatterythatpowerstheinstrumentrequiresreplacingwhenthebatteryiconflasheson
thedisplay.Toreplacethebatteryfollowthestepsbelow:
1. Disconnecttheprobefromtheinstrument.
2. OpentherearbatterycompartmentusingascrewdrivertoremovethetwoPhillipshead
screwsthatsecurethecompartment.
3. Carefullyremovetheoldbatteryfromthecompartmentlidchamberandgentlyunsnap
thebattery’sterminalsfromthewired(red/black)connectors.
4. Installanew9Vbatterybysnappingthebatteryterminalsontothewiredconnectors
(observingcorrectpolarity)andinsertingthebatteryintothecompartmentlidchamber.
5. Installthecompartmentlidchamberintothemeterhousingandsecurewiththetwo
screws.
Neverdisposeofusedbatteriesorrechargeablebatteriesinhouseholdwaste.
Asconsumers,usersarelegallyrequiredtotakeusedbatteriestoappropriate
collectionsites,theretailstorewhere thebatterieswerepurchased,orwherever
batteriesaresold.
Disposal:Donotdisposeofthisinstrumentinhouseholdwaste.Theuserisobligatedtotake
endoflifedevicestoadesignatedcollectionpointforthedisposalofelectricalandelectronic
equipment.
