This appliance can be used by children from the age of 8 and by
people with reduced physical, sensorial or mental capabilities and/or
lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given instructions
on using the appliance safely and if they understand the hazards
involved. Children may not play with the appliance. Cleaning and
maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.

1.1. Power Supply
Make sure the main voltage is compatible with the appliance’s. If this is
not the case please consult the Customer Support Service.
1.2. Power Cord and Other Cables
Do not tangle the cord or pull it to disconnect the appliance. Also, keep
the cord away from warm surfaces.
Never use the appliance if it has a damaged cable or socket.
Take it to the Technical Support Service for replacement.
1.3. Humidity and Water
Do not use your appliance in humid places. Do not allow the appliance
to become wet under any circumstances as this may be dangerous.
To avoid fire hazard or electric shock do not expose your appliance
to humidity or water. Furthermore, do not place your appliance under
water (e.g. for cleaning).

1.4. Cleaning
Before cleaning, be sure to switch o the appliance and remove the
plug from the main power supply. Always allow the unit to cool down
before cleaning.
To clean the exterior of the product use a dry soft cloth only.

The warranty will be voided if the unit is not installed by
professionals.
If an abnormal situation arises (like burning smell), turn o
the power supply and call your Customer Support Service for
instructions to avoid electric shock, fire or injury.
DO NOT let the indoor unit or the remote control get wet. It may
cause electric shock or fire.
DO NOT insert fingers, rods or other objects into the air inlet or
outlet. This may cause injury, since the fan may be rotating at high
speeds.
DO NOT use a flammable spray such as hair spray, lacquer or paint
near the unit. This may cause fire or combustion.
Do not use means to accelerate the defrosting process or to clean
other than those recommended by the manufacturer.
The appliance shall be stored so as to prevent mechanical damage
from occurring.
Be aware that the refrigerants may not contain an odour.
Compliance with national gas regulations shall be observed.
Keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction.
DO NOT pierce or burn.
The appliance must be stored in a well-ventilated area where the
room size corresponds to the room area as specified for operation.

Any person involved with working on or breaking into a refrigerant
circuit should hold a current valid certificate from an industry-
accredited assessment authority, which authorises their competence
to handle refrigerants safely in accordance with an industry
recognised assessment specification.
Servicing shall only be performed as recommended by the
equipment manufacturer. Maintenance and repair requiring the
assistance of other skilled personnel shall be carried out under
the supervision of the person competent in the use of flammable
refrigerants.
The appliance shall be installed in accordance with national wiring
regulations.
CAUTION
DO NOT touch the air outlet while the swing fan is in motion.
Fingers might get caught or the unit may break down.
DO NOT inspect the unit by yourself. Ask an authorized technician
to perform the inspection.
To prevent product deterioration, do not use the air conditioner for
preservation purposes (storage of food, plants, animals, works of art,
etc.).
DO NOT touch the evaporator coils inside the indoor unit. The
evaporator coils are sharp and may cause injury.
DO NOT operate the air conditioner with wet hands. It may cause
electric shock.
DO NOT place items that might be aected by moisture damage
under the indoor unit. Condensation can occur at a relative humidity
of 80 %.

DO NOT expose heat-producing appliances to cold air or place
them under the indoor unit. This may cause incomplete combustion
or deformation of the unit due to heat. After long periods of usage,
check the indoor unit for signs of damage. If the indoor unit is
damaged, it may fall and cause injury.
If the air conditioner is used together with other heating devices,
thoroughly ventilate the room to avoid oxygen deficiency.
DO NOT climb onto or place objects on top of the outdoor unit.
DO NOT operate the air conditioner when using fumigant
insecticides, as chemicals may become layered with the unit and
endanger those hypersensitive to chemicals.
DO NOT let children play with the air conditioner.
DO NOT operate the air conditioner in a wet room (e.g. bathroom
or laundry room). This can cause electrical shock and cause the
product to deteriorate.

Display Code Meaning
The unit will display your temperature setting.
In FAN mode, the unit will display the room temperature.
When an error occurs, it displays an error code, as follows:
” for 3 seconds when:
• TIMER ON is set

Achieving Optimal Performance
Optimal performance for the COOL, HEAT, and DRY modes can
be achieved in the following temperature ranges. When your air
conditioner is used outside of these ranges, certain safety protection
features will activate and cause the unit to perform less than optimally.

To further optimize your unit’ performance, proceed accordingly:
• Keep all room doors and windows closed.
• Limit energy usage by using TIMER ON and TIMER OFF functions.
• Do not block air inlets or outlets.

When turning on your unit, the louver will automatically resume its
former angle.

• Setting an Angle for Air Flow
  Settingaverticalangleforairow
While the unit is on, use the SWING button to set the direction
  (verticalangle)ofairow.
1. Press the SWING button once to activate the louver. Each time you
press the button, it will adjust the louver by 6°. Press the button until
the direction you prefer is reached.
2. To make the louver swing up and down continuously, press and hold
the SWING button for 3 seconds. Press it again to stop the automatic
function.

NOTE ON LOUVER ANGLES
When using COOL or DRY modes, do not set the louver at too vertical
an angle for long periods of time. This can cause water to condense on
thelouverblade,whichwilldroponyouroororfurnishings(seeFig. A).
When using COOL or HEAT modes, setting the louver at too vertical
ananglecanreducetheunit’sperformanceduetorestrictedairow.
Do not move the louver by hand. This will cause the louver to become
outofsync.Shouldthisoccur,turnotheunitandunplugitforafew
seconds, then restart it. This will reset the louver.

• While cooling, close the curtains to avoid direct sunlight.
• Doors and windows should be kept closed to keep cool or warm air

• Sleep function
The SLEEP function is used to decrease energy use while you sleep
(and don’t need the same temperature settings to stay comfortable).
This function can only be activated via remote control.
Press the SLEEP button when you are ready to go to sleep. When in
COOL mode, the unit will increase the temperature by 1° C (2° F) after
1 hour and will increase an additional 1°C (2°F) after another hour. When
in HEAT mode, the unit will decrease the temperature by 1° C (2° F) after
1 hour and will decrease an additional 1° C (2° F) after another hour.
This function will hold the new temperature for 5 hours; then, the unit
willturnoautomatically. Note: the SLEEP function is not available in
FAN or DRY mode.

Manual Operation (without remote)
How to operate your unit without the remote control
Should your remote control fail to work, your unit can be operated
manually with the MANUAL CONTROL button located on the indoor
unit. Note that manual operation is not a long-term solution, and that
operating the unit with your remote control is strongly recommended.
BEFORE MANUAL OPERATION
Theunitmustbeturnedobeforemanualoperation.
To operate your unit manually, proceed accordingly:
1. Open the front panel of the indoor unit.
2. Locate the MANUAL CONTROL button on the right-hand side of the unit.
3. Press the MANUAL CONTROL button one time to activate FORCED
AUTO mode.
4. Press the MANUAL CONTROL button again to activate FORCED
COOLING mode.
5. Press the MANUAL CONTROLbuttonathirdtimetoturntheunito.
6. Close the front panel.
CAUTION
The manual button is intended for testing purposes and emergency
operation only. Please do not use this function unless the remote
control is lost and it is absolutely necessary. To restore regular
operation, use the remote control to activate the unit.

2.3. REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION
Note:
The buttons design is based on standard models and might be
slightlydierentfromtheactualoneyoupurchase.However,the
remotes actual shape will be the same.
All functions described can be performed by this unit. If the unit
cannot perform this feature, nothing happens when you press the
corresponding button on the remote control.

1 – ON/OFF Button
Press this button to turn the air
conditioning ON and OFF.
2 – MODE Button
Press this button to modify the air
conditioning mode according to the
following sequence:
Note: do not select the HEAT mode if
the unit you purchased is for cooling
only, as this mode is not supported by
the cooling only appliance.
3 – FAN Button Press this button to
select the fan speed, according to the
four available steps:
Note: you cannot change the fan speed
when in AUTO or DRY modes.
4 – SLEEP Button
Press this button to Activate/Deactivate the sleep function. It can
stay at the most comfortable temperature and save energy. This
function is available on COOL, HEAT or AUTO mode only.
For further information, refer to SLEEP mode section.
Note: while the unit is running under SLEEP mode, this mode is cancelled
if any of the MODE, FAN SPEED or ON/OFF buttons are pressed.
5 – FRESH Button (this function is not available for this model even if
it is in the remote control).
Press this button to Activate/Deactivate the FRESH function. When the
FRESH function is active, the Ionizer/Plasma Dust Collector (depending on
the model) will work to help remove pollen and impurities from the air.
