Before first use
Remove any labels and/or swingtickets.1.
Wipe the outside of the Grinder Body 2. 1, , Grinder Bowl 2 and Lid 3
with a cloth, using liquid detergent and warm water. Dry thoroughly.
TAKE CARE, AS THE GRINDER BLADES ARE SHARP.

DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE GRINDER BODY IN WATER.•
How to use
Position the Grinder on a level and stable surface; unwind the Mains 1.
Lead 6 from the base and adjust with the Cable Storage Winder 5
to achieve the optimum length: please read the CAUTIONS on siting
and connecting to your mains electricity.
Rotate the Lid 2. 3 clockwise in the opposite
direction to the Lid Turn Direction Arrow
8, remove and invert to use as a measuring cup.
The lid cup has graduations for 4, 6 and 8 cups.

You may also measure your coffee beans using a tablespoon. You will
need approximately one level tablespoon of beans per cup, although
this is, of course, subject to your own personal taste.
Pour the measured coffee beans into the Grinder Bowl 3. 2.
DO NOT OVERFILL; THE MAXIMUM CAPACITY IS 12 LEVEL
•
TABLESPOONS OF COFFEE.
Place the Lid 4. 3 on the Grinder Body 1, with the triangular Mark 9
on the lid towards the front of the body. Rotate the lid until the lid is
seated on the body. Rotate the lid in the direction of the arrow fully
home until the Marks 9 on the lid and body are aligned.
The Grinder will not operate unless the Lid
• 3 is securely in place as
described above.
Select the number of cups for which you are grinding coffee, aligning 5.
the Cup Quantity Selector Control 11 cup number against the mark
above.
Plug the base Mains Plug 6. 6 into a mains power socket and switch
the socket ON.
Press the On/Off Button 7. 10 to grind the coffee and hold until the
required consistency of the coffee grounds is reached, as shown by
illumination of the indicators in turn for COARSE 12, then MEDIUM
13 , then FINE 14 , at which point release the On/Off Button 10.
The COARSE grind is generally used for percolators and coffee
•
urns. MEDIUM grind is used for drip coffee makers and steam-type
espresso machines. A FINE grind is used for espresso machines with
an electric pump. Vary the grinding times to suit your taste and type
of beans used. Allow the Grinder to cool between each 60 seconds of

use, to avoid overheating.
If the Lid
• 3 is removed to check the consistency of the coffee
grounds, always ensure that the inner rim is free of coffee particles
and shake the grounds into the centre. DO NOT REMOVE LID UNTIL
BLADES COME TO A COMPLETE STOP
When you have achieved the required 8. consistency, switch off at the
mains socket and remove the Mains Plug 6.
Have a container to hand, sufficiently large to accommodate all of
•
your ground coffee.
Remove the Lid 9. 3 and invert the Grinder to empty all the coffee
grounds into your container; tap the grinder base lightly if necessary.
Transfer the coffee grounds from your container to your coffee maker.
Cleaning & Care
Disconnect from the mains supply before cleaning.•
Loosen coffee ground residue in the Grinder Bowl 1. 2 using a small dry
brush with synthetic bristles.
Wipe the the Grinder Body 2. 1 and Bowl 2 with a cloth, slightly
dampened with liquid detergent and warm water. Dry thoroughly.
TAKE CARE, AS THE GRINDER BLADES ARE SHARP.

DO NOT IMMERSE ANY PART OF THE GRINDER BODY IN WATER.•
Wash the Lid 3. 3 with liquid detergent and warm water, rinse and dry.
Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners, metal objects or a brush with
•
metal bristles.
When the Grinder is not in use, store in a dry place.
•
Cautions
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) •
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of
experience or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible
for their safety.
Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
•
Do not connect the Mains Plug • 6 into the socket, or use the
appliance, if your hands or the appliance are wet.
Unplug the appliance whenever it is not in use.
•
THE APPLIANCE MUST ALWAYS BE EARTHED - always connect to a •
mains socket with an earth connection.
Never leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged in.
