2 Installation
This chapter describes the installation procedure for the antenna kit.
2.1 Installation Guidelines
Please observe the following guidelines when you are installing the antenna kit:
Avoid placing behind obstacles
Obstructions such as concrete walls, trees, power lines and thick metals limit radio
signal penetration and reduce throughput and range of the wireless device which
the antenna connects to.
Mount the antenna vertically
This antenna is vertically polarized. Since the antenna has vertical gain, it is very
important to mount the antenna in a vertical (not leaning) position for optimal
performance.
Use a surge arrestor for antenna installed outdoor
Surge arrestor can protect your wireless device from high voltage surges caused
by discharge and transient at the antenna.
Do not point the antenna in the direction of people or animals
You should mount the antenna in such manner so as to minimize the potential for
human or animal contact during normal operation.
2.2 Mounting the Antenna
2.2.1 14dBi Directional Panel Antenna
Wall Mount configuration
1. Fix one of the M-shaped fixing to the back of the antenna.
2. Fix the half-round metal stand with a plastic wall tiger and screw horizontally in
the desired mounting position.
3. Connect the other M-shaped metal fixing and the triangle stand with the
corresponding screws and nuts.
4. Fix the triangle stand to the half-round metal stand. The antenna can be
horizontally aligned with this connection.
5. Connect the two M-shaped metal fixings together with the M8 x 110 bolt. The
antenna can be vertically aligned with this connection.
