The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol, within an equilateral triangle, is intended to alert the user to
the presence of un-insulated dangerous voltage “within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient
magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important
operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

WELCOME
Thank you for purchasing the new Retro Radio AM/FM SY-RET30. In order to fully benefit from this
product, please read the safety and operation instructions carefully. Store the user manual in a safe
place for future reference.
PRECAUTIONS
1. For AC operation, make sure the voltage is compatible. Always use the provided AC power cord;
never use other AC power cord.
1. For DC operation, simply insert three "UM-2 / C" batteries for unit operation.
2. Always disconnect the AC power cord from the AC power source when it is not in use or when
DC power is operating.
3. Do not leave the batteries in the compartment for a long time. Remove the batteries to avoid
leakage and damage. If the unit is not going to be used over a long period of time, remove the
batteries and store the unit in a safe place.
4. Do not expose the unit to extreme temperature nor high humidity to ensure normal functioning for
a long lifetime.
5.
If you find the unit is not working properly, please contact Sytech Service Center. Under any
circumstances do not attempt to repair the unit by yourself as this may result in the risk of electro
locution and will void the warranty.
6. Use this apparatus in moderate climates.
7. The Marking plate is located at the back of the device.
8. Make sure to have a minimum distance of 5 cm around the unit for sufficient ventilation.
9. Ensure that the ventilation openings are not covered with items such as newspapers, tablecloths,
curtains, etc.
10. Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles on the apparatus.
11. Do not expose this appliance to dripping or splashing water.
12. Do not place objects filled with liquids, such as glass, vase on the device.
13. Do not throw batteries into fire! Respect the environment when disposing of used batteries.
14. Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or other similar heat
source.
15. The power plug is used as a disconnect device and must be easily accessible. To be completely
disconnected from the power, the plug of the appliance should be disconnected completely. The
socket must not be obstructed and should be easily accessible during intended use.
16. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.

LOCATION OF CONTROLS
AC POWER SOURCE
This Unit is designed to operate at 230V ~ 50Hz household power source. Do not attempt to operate the
system using other power sources. This may result in damage to the unit and void your warranty.
Use the AC cord to connect the unit with the power supply. Turn the knob VOLUME clockwise until the
power and the amber light are on.
DC POWER SOURCE
This unit supports DC power source. Put four “C” (UM-2) type batteries into the battery compartment.
Turn the knob VOLUME clockwise until the power and the amber light are on.
NOTICE:
Before installing batteries (not included), ensure that the AC cord disconnected from the mains unit.
Remove the battery door on the back of the unit carefully by pushing the battery door. Fit the
1.5V(UM 2) x 4pcs batteries(not included) referring to the polarity markings
RADIO OPERATION
Slide the AM / FM band selector to select AM or FM band.
Turn the tuning knob to adjust the frequency of the desired radio station.
When you do not want to listen to the radio, turn the VOLUME knob anticlockwise until it clicks to turn
off the radio.

ANTENNA
AM - This appliance is equipped with an internal ferrite bar antenna for good reception in most places. If
the reception is poor, turn the device to improve it.
FM - The telescopic antenna is used only for FM reception. If the reception is poor, deploy the wire
antenna or reposition it.
EARPHONE
Your radio has a phone jack for 3.5mm headphones. To listen to the radio without disturbing others, you
have to connect the headphones to this jack, the speaker of the device is disabled and you can listen to
the radio in peace.
WARNING: USING A HEADPHONE
Please select the proper volume if you want to use a headphone. In case of excessive volume for the
earphones, and a drumming in the ear happens, please decrease the volume or stop usage. You risk an
effect onto your eardrum and a partial or total deafness. If your ears hurt, please contact a doctor.
NOTE:
We recommend you to reduce the volume control to a lower level before putting on the headphones.
After putting on the headphones, gradually increase the volume to a comfortable listening level.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Clean your unit with damp cloth (never wet). Solvent, alcohol or detergent should never be used.
2. Avoid leaving your unit in direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty places.
3. Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent
lamps or motors.
