How does the Emeril by T-fal appliance work?
This is a versatile multi-function electric cooker which can be used like a small electric oven. The
stainless steel lid has an integrated enclosed electric element which provides the heat. A clear
viewing window in the lid allows you to check on the cooking process while the heat and mois-
ture remain inside. Any steam escapes through the steam vent in the viewing window.
The pan can also be used directly on the stove to brown food before cooking, which is ideal for
one-pot meals. The stand holds the removable pan, which has two carrying handles, ensuring
that no heat transfers to the work surface or table.
What can you cook in the Emeril by T-fal appliance?
Unlike a traditional oven, there is no need to worry about selecting different temperatures for
different recipes with this appliance. Just press the on/off switch and amazingly it can roast,
bake, grill, poach and saute all your favorite recipes.
In general, there is no need to adapt recipes when cooking in the appliance. Use the timings
in the recipe book as a guide. Do remember that the Emeril by T-fal appliance is not a slow
cooker.
What types of stove is the Emeril by T-fal appliance pan
suitable for?
The pan is suitable for use on gas, radiant electric, solid electric, ceramic and halogen stoves.
The pan is not suitable for use on an induction cook top.
Thank you for buying the Emeril by T-fal appliance. Before using it, please take a few
moments to read these instructions and look at the recipe book, so that you can famil-
iarize yourself with how it works. If you have any difficulties using your appliance, please
look at the section ‘A few tips in case of problems’ on page 14 for advice.

Using your Emeril by T-fal appliance
Before first use
• Before using for the first time, carefully
unpack the appliance and remove all pack-
aging, stickers, labels and tags - Fig 1.
• Remove the lid (4) and wash the cooking
pan (8) in warm water and dish soap.
Rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Wipe the lid with a damp cloth with a drop
of dish soap on it. Rinse off with a damp
sponge soaked in clean water and dry thor-
oughly - Fig 2.
• Before using the pan for the first time,
condition the non-stick coated interior by
spreading one teaspoon of cooking oil over
the interior with a paper kitchen towel. Wipe
off any excess. You should then condition
the pan regularly to maintain the perform-
ance of the non-stick coating.
Never use metal scouring pads, abrasive
wire wool or harsh scouring powder to
clean the pan or any part of the appliance
as they may damage it.
Never immerse the lid
in water or under
running water.
Never clean the lid
in a dishwasher.
Only use the pan provided
with the appliance or provided by the
manufacturer or its service center agent.
Only use the lid with the pan and the sup-
port stand provided with the appliance.
6
Emeril-2026102721 11/10/12 14:28 Page6
Assembling
• Place the support stand (9) on a flat, stable
heat-resistant surface. Place the pan (8) in-
side the support stand (9) aligning the han-
dles on the pan with the recesses (10) on the
support stand - Fig 3.
• Place the lid (4) on the pan with the long
pan handle (5) positioned at the front - Fig
4.
• Always ensure that the lid is fitted correctly.
Close supervision is necessary when any
appliance is used by or near children.
Cooking with your Emeril by T-fal appliance
• Prepare your recipe and place the food in-
side the pan (8). You do not need to pre-
heat.
• To avoid spills do not fill the pan more than
two-thirds full.
• Place the lid (4) on the pan with the long lid
handle (5) positioned at the front.
• Plug the Emeril by T-fal appliance into the
wall outlet ensuring the cable is fully un-
wound - Fig 5. Press the On/Off switch (6),
the light comes on and the appliance heats
up - Fig 6. The light stays on constantly dur-
ing cooking.
• If the lid is fitted incorrectly, the safety sys-
tem does not allow cooking to start and the
light will not come on. Refit the lid.
• To avoid your appliance from overheating,
do not use aluminium foil to cook, cover or
wrap food.
• To avoid damaging your appliance, do not
cook flambé dishes in it.
• Always use plastic or wooden utensils to pre-
serve the pans non-stick coating. Avoid using
sharp edged utensils.
Never use the appliance when it is empty.
On first use, there may be a slight odor
and a little smoke during the first few min-
utes.
Do not use the pan in a conventional oven.
Do not:
- use aluminium foil between the pan and
the lid,
- use aluminium foil to protect food from
over browning,
- cook food wrapped in aluminium foil, for
example when roasting.
All these actions can result in the lid over-
heating causing the plastic parts on the lid
to become too hot and possibly melt.
Do not slice or cut food directly in the pan
- Fig 9.
Do not move the appliance when in use.
To prevent damage to the pan only use it
with the lid (4) and support stand (9) for
which it was designed to operate with.
The lid and pan get very hot during and
after cooking, never touch the lid or pan -
Fig 10. Always use the handles and oven
gloves.

Using your Emeril by T-fal appliance pan on the stove
• The pan can be used on all types of stove
tops except induction.
• For all types of stove, check your stove man-
ufacturer’s manual for the advice on a suit-
able size flame or ring to best match the pan
base diameter and maximum pan base di-
ameter.
• On a gas stove, the flame must not exceed
the pan’s base diameter - Fig 12. as this
risks damaging the pan handles.
• On an electric stove, use a plate whose diam-
eter is equal to or smaller than that of the
base of the pan.
• On glass top surfaces, such as ceramic and
halogen, take care that your stove and the
base of the pan are perfectly clean (to avoid
anything getting trapped between the pan
and the stove, thereby scratching the sur-
face). Always lift the pan and do not slide or
drag it across the glass stove surface.
Never leave your pan unattended when
cooking food on the stove.
Do not use the for deep fat frying as the
pan is too shallow in height.
Never cook on a high or maximum heat –
in excess of 375° F as this may damage
the non-stick coating, burn food, produce
stains or damage the base of the product.
Never heat the pan empty, unless you are
heating oil in the pan ready for frying.
Never allow the pan to boil dry.
• At the end of cooking, carefully remove the
lid holding the long handle (5) and short
handle (1) to fully support the lid - Fig 7.
Important: the underside and top of the
lid are extremely hot during cooking and
remain so for a long while afterwards.
When removing the lid, turn it upside down
and place it on a heat resistant surface - Fig
8.
• Allow the pan to cool completely first before
storing in a refrigerator.
• If you want to cook a second batch of food
in the appliance, the cooking times will be
slightly less if the appliance is already hot.
The hot lid must avoid contact with any
surfaces or materials affected by heat.
Do not use the Emeril by T-fal appliance as
a deep fat fryer.
Important: Never use the lid (4) when using the pan directly on the stove - Fig 11.
8
Emeril-2026102721 11/10/12 14:28 Page8
9
• Always dry the base of the pan before cook-
ing, especially if you use it on a ceramic or
halogen stove, otherwise the pan may stick
to the stove.
• Center your pan over the heat source (this
prevents damage to the handle and exterior
coating).
• If using sugar or course salt, wait for it to dis-
solve before stirring in the pan (if not, the
grains may scratch the surface).
• After prolonged usage some minor discol-
oration of the non-stick coating may occur.
This is quite normal and will not affect the
non-stick properties of your cookware.
Safety features
If the lid is incorrectly positioned the safety system does not allow cooking to start.
Refit the lid.
Care and cleaning
To clean the pan
• Turn off the appliance by pressing the
ON/Off switch (6), the light goes out - Fig 13.
• Unplug the appliance - Fig 14.
• Leave the pan to cool completely before
cleaning.
• After each use, wash the pan with a sponge
in warm water and dish soap. Rinse and dry
thoroughly.
• Alternatively, clean in a dishwasher but take
care that the pan does not obstruct the ro-
tating dishwasher blades - Fig 15. Do not
leave your pan in the dishwasher after the
cycle has finished. To maintain the perform-
ance of the non-stick coating, repeat the
‘conditioning’ after dishwashing is recom-
mend (see “Before First Use”).
• If you accidentally burn food in the pan fill
it with warm water and dish soap and leave
to soak for about an hour. Afterwards wash
as normal and use a non-abrasive sponge (a
non-stick scouring sponge) if necessary. The
non-stick coating should then be recondi-
tioned with a little cooking oil wiped over the
surface with a paper kitchen towel to restore
its non-stick properties.
Never use metal scouring pads, abrasive
wire wool or harsh scouring powder to
clean the pan or any part of the appliance
as they may damage it.
Never use bleach or any products contain-
ing chlorine to clean any part of the appli-
ance.
Never put cold water into a hot pan or
plunge a hot pan in cold water. Sudden
changes of temperature may cause metal
to warp, resulting in an uneven base.
Do not place a hot pan on a surface which
will be damaged by heat.
If the pan is cleaned in a dishwasher, the
outer coating may become dulled and dis-
colored due to the action of certain deter-
gents. Our guarantee does not cover this
type of wear, however the performance of
the pan will not be affected.

To clean the lid and support stand
• Turn off the appliance by pressing the
ON/Off switch (6), the light goes out - Fig
13.
• Unplug the appliance - Fig 14.
• Leave the lid to cool for at least 1 hour be-
fore cleaning, moving or storing - Fig 16.
• To clean the underside and top of the lid (4),
viewing window (3) and support stand (9)
wipe with a damp sponge and a drop of dish
soap. Rinse off with damp sponge soaked in
clean water and dry thoroughly - Fig 17.
• Clean any stains around the rim of the lid
before using the next time to avoid anything
from being baked on. Use a scourer suitable
for use on non-stick, never an abrasive
scourer, together with warm water and a
drop of dish soap. Use on the rim only. Do
not use a non-stick scourer on any other part
of the lid as it could damage the lustre of
the stainless steel.
Do not immerse the lid in water or under
running water.
Never clean the lid and support stand in a
dishwasher - Fig 18.

Advice on how to get the best from your
Emeril by T-fal appliance
• Everything is cooked from cold in the appli-
ance. There is no need to preheat the appli-
ance.
• Remove the lid as little as possible to retain
heat. Look through the viewing window to
check on the cooking progress or to see if
the food is sufficiently brown.
• There may be a few minutes variation in the
cooking or slight difference in the degree of
browning, even when cooking the same
recipe. This is because this appliance is more
sensitive to the variation in the initial tem-
perature of the food than a conventional
oven. Therefore, we advise you regularly
check on the cooking progress through the
viewing window near the end of the cooking
time.
• Aluminium foil must never be used in this
appliance as it can result in overheating
which could cause the plastic parts on the
lid to melt.
Use parchment paper as an alternative for
aluminium foil.
• This appliance cooks at a temperature of
375° F. When using existing recipes, take
this temperature into consideration and
alter your total cooking time accordingly.
• When roasting, use roasting bags or multi-
purpose cooking bags, available in large su-
permarkets, as they help prevent fat
splashing and make cleaning easier.
• Puddings and sponge cakes can be cooked
in either an ovenproof dish, silicone mould
or baking tin. If you are entertaining you can
cook puddings or cakes directly in the pan.
• When baking sponge cakes and puddings,
the edges often cook quicker than the cen-
ter. Instead of cooking one large cake or
pudding you may prefer to cook the recipe
in individual ovenproof ramekins, pudding
tins or silicone moulds. These can be
arranged in a ring around the outer edge of
the pan so that they cook and brown evenly.
• Test sponge cakes to check they are cooked
in the center before removing from the ap-
pliance. Insert a metal skewer or wooden
toothpick into the center and if any un-
cooked mixture is attached cook for a few
minutes longer. The cake should also be firm
to the touch.

T-Fal 2100072463 is a versatile multi-function electric cooker that can be used like a small electric oven. The stainless steel lid has an integrated enclosed electric element which provides the heat. A clear viewing window in the lid allows you to check on the cooking process while the heat and moisture remain inside. Any steam escapes through the steam vent in the viewing window. It is an ideal pick for one-pot meals.
