CAUTION concerning the Power Cord
Most appliances recommend they be placed upon
a dedicated circuit;
That is, a single outlet circuit which powers only
that appliance and has no additional outlets or
branch circuits. Check the specication page of this
owners manual to be certain. Do not overload wall
outlets. Overloaded wall outlets, loose or damaged
wall outlets, extension cords, frayed power cords, or
damaged or cracked wire insulation are dangerous.

Playable Discs
This unit plays DVD±R/RW and CD-R/RW that
contains audio titles, DivX, MP3, WMA and/or
JPEG les. Some DVD±RW/DVD±R or CD-RW/
CD-R cannot be played on this unit due to the
recording quality or physical condition of the disc,
or the characteristics of the recording device and
authoring software.

This unit has a regional code printed on the rear of
the unit. This unit can play only DVD discs labelled
same as the rear of the unit or ALL.

Most DVD discs have a globe with one or more
numbers in it clearly visible on the cover. This
number must match your unit’s regional code or
the disc cannot play.

If you try to play a DVD with a dierent regional
code from your unit, the message “Check
Regional Code appears on the TV screen.

Connect the speaker cable plugs to the SPEAKER
connector.
Connect the red cable plug to the R connector and
the the white one to the L connector.

To connect the cable to the unit, press each plastic
nger pad to open the connection terminals on the
unit. Insert the wire and release the nger pad.
Connect the black stripe of each wire to the
terminals marked - (minus) and the other end to
the terminals marked + (plus).
The speakers contain magnet parts, so color
irregularity may occur on the TV screen or PC
monitor screen. Please use the speakers far
away from either TV screen or PC monitor.

TV
Connect the VIDEO OUT jack on the unit to the
video in jack on the TV using a video cable.
You can hear the sound through the systems
speakers.

Stereo System or other devices as necessary
to make the best connections.

Make sure the unit is connected directly
to the TV. Tune the TV to the correct video
input channel.

Do not connect your unit via your VCR.
The image could be distorted by the copy

The unit can be used to play the music from many
types of external device.
1. Connect the external device to the PORT.IN
connector of the unit.
2. Turn the power on by pressing POWER (

3. Select the PORTABLE function by pressing
FUNC. on the unit or FUNCTION on the remote
control.
4. Turn the external device and start it playing.

Adjust the Setup
settings
By using the Setup menu, you can make various
adjustments to items such as picture and sound.
You can also set a language for the subtitles and
the Setup menu, among other things. For details on
each Setup menu item.

It is available only on DVD/CD or USB mode.

Be sure of complete stop status before
adjust the settings. It may not be able to
change some setup menu in pause or
resume stop status.

It is highly recommended to set the OSD
language in advance of the others.

Select a language for the Setup menu and on-

SCREEN SAVER
The screen saver appears when you leave the
unit in Stop mode for about 5 minutes.
The screen saver will not appear when you
leave the player in pause status.

Note
LAST MEMORY (DVD only)
This unit memorizes last scene from the last disc
that is viewed. The last scene remains in memory
even if you remove the disc from the unit or switch
o the unit. If you load a disc that has the scene
memorized, the scene is automatically recalled.
It is not available to save the last scene when
you change to the other functions.

ANALOG AUDIO
[DOWNMIX]
DOWNMIX means that multi-channel surround
sound are mixed to produce 2 channel sound
suitable for this unit.
Select [LT/RT] to downmix the sound or
[STEREO] to get 2 channel sound out of only
front speakers.
DYNAMIC
This function allows you to listen to the output
sound more clear when the sound is too loud or
too low.
Set the DYNAMIC range from OFF to FULL by using

COLOR SETTING
You can control the picture on your own.
[SHARPNESS]
Adjusts the level of sharpness in the edges
between the light and dark areas of the picture.
[BRIGHTNESS]
Adjusts the base level of the signal in the
picture.
[CONTRAST]
Adjusts the signal level between black and
white in the picture. You may use Contrast
when the bright part of the picture is saturated.
[GAMMA]
Adjusts brightness of dark area and middle
gray level area of the picture.
[HUE]
Adjusts the balance between red and green
levels.
[SATURATION]
Adjusts intensity of all Colors.

ABOUT DIVX VIDEO: DivX® is a digital video
format created by DivX, LLC, a subsidiary of Rovi
Corporation. This is an ocial DivX Certied®
device that has passed rigorous testing to verify
that it plays DivX video. Visit divx.com for more
information and software tools to convert your les
into DivX videos.
ABOUT DIVX VIDEO-ON-DEMAND: This DivX
Certied® device must be registered in order to play
purchased DivX Video-on-Demand (VOD) movies.
To obtain your registration code, locate the DivX
VOD section in your device setup menu. Go to vod.
divx.com for more information on how to complete
your registration.

[PREFERENCE] Menu
TV TYPE
You must select the appropriate system mode
for your TV system. Select a TV type among [PAL],
[AUTO], or [NTSC].
[AUDIO]/[SUBTITLE]/[DISC MENU]
[Languages]
Select a language you prefer for the audio track
(disc audio), subtitles, and the disc menu.

Enter LANGUAGE CODE when you
select [OTHERS] on the language list.
Refer to the “Language Codes” on page
28.

Depending on the disc, your language
setting may not work.

Note
PARENTAL
Blocks playback of rated DVD based on their
content. (Not all discs are rated.) Password is
needed to change the setting.
[Rating 1-8]
Rating one (1) has the most restrictions and
rating eight (8) is the least restrictive.
PASSWORD
You can create or change the password.
PASSWORD MODE
Select [ON] to lock the setting.
PASSWORD
Select [CHANGE] to change password.
Enter the 6-digit password to spaces and select
[OK].
If you forget your password, enter “136900” to
password blank to reset your password.

DEFAULT
It sets default values to its original settings. Select
[RESET] to initialize the setting. You have to reset
the settings after initializing.
You should enter the password when reset the
unit if you set PASSWORD MODE to [ON].
