Proper usage
Important: When operating the appliance you are responsible for the safety of third
parties.
• People unfamiliar with the operating instructions, children, or anyone under the
influence of drugs or alcohol must not be allowed to operate this appliance.
• Only use the appliance for the purpose for which it was intended.
• Keep children, pets and any onlookers a safe distance away from the working area at
all times.
• Always use the appliance with the grass collection unit correctly fitted.
• Before inserting the plug into the mains power supply, make sure that the socket rating
matches the appliance.
• Only operate the appliance by grasping the handle in the correct working position.
• Ensure that your weight is evenly balanced over both feet, especially when working on
slopes.
• In order to start the appliance, the cutting blades must be completely free to move.
• Never put your hands or feet in the path of the rotating parts.
Caution! Risk of injury!
• Only use the appliance at walking pace.
• To prevent cutting the cable, always make sure you safely guide the power lead
behind you when using the appliance.
• Before positioning and removing the grass collection unit, switch the motor off and
wait until the blades have stopped moving.
• If the appliance strikes an object, examine it for signs of damage and carry out any
necessary repairs before restarting and continuing to work.
• If the appliance starts to vibrate abnormally, switch off the motor and check it
immediately for the cause. Vibration is generally a warning of a fault.
• Before carrying out any maintenance, or cleaning the appliance, switch it off,
unplug from the mains power supply and wait until the cutting blades have
stopped moving.
Caution! The blades do not stop immediately after switching off the appliance.
