ELEVATION AND WINDAGE ADJUSTMENT
All Bushnell Elite riflescopes feature finger-adjustable (no tool needed),
elevation and windage adjustments with audible clicks. Each "click" or
increment on the adjustment knob or turret will change the bullet's point
of impact by 1/4 Minute of Angle (1/8-MOA on select high power Elite 4500
models-these will have numbers on the dial spaced 8 hash marks apart instead
of 4 marks apart). 1-MOA represents 1 inch at 100 yards (metric: 29mm at
100 meters). For example, rotating the elevation adjustment by one click
will shift the point of impact up or down (relative to the center of the reticle)
by 1/4" at 100 yards, 1/2" at 200 yards, 3/4" at 300 yards, etc. (for 1/8-MOA
value models, each click=1/8" @ 100 yds, 1/4" @ 200 yds, etc.)
To adjust the windage or elevation on your Elite riflescope:
1. Unscrew the protective cap from the adjustment knob or turret.
2. On the elevation adjustment, the "UP" direction (counterclockwise)
is indicated with an arrow (to move the reticle plane DOWN, turn
it clockwise). On the windage adjustment, the "RIGHT" direction is
indicated (turn clockwise for LEFT adjustment).
3. Rotate the adjustment in the necessary direction by grasping the bar
at the top of the adjustment dial (Elite 3500) or turning the adjustment
dial itself (Elite 4500/6500), viewing the hash marks or counting clicks.
4. The Elite 4500 and 6500 series scopes have rotation counter scales
on the turrets, beneath the adjustment dial (see photo, right page).
Each 360 degree rotation of the adjustment dial will expose the next
numbered horizontal index mark on the turret. This helps you keep
track of the number of full dial rotations if it is necessary to make large
adjustments at close range.
RESETTING THE ADJUSTMENT SCALE (REALIGN DIAL TO ZERO)
At your option, for easier reference, you may want to realign the zero mark
on the adjustment dial(s) with the index dot or line once you have the scope
zeroed in accurately. This is a simple procedure, but the exact details vary
depending on which series of Elite scopes your model falls under :
ZERO RESET STEPS - ELITE 3500 Scopes
1. Using a jeweler’s screwdriver, loosen the two phillips screws on the
adjustment bar about 1/2 turn (see photo, right page). Take care not to
disturb your zero by "losing" a click or two when loosening the screws.
2. Rotate the adjustment dial (which should now turn freely) to align the
"0" with the index dot.
3. Retighten the screws in the adjustment bar.
