12) GroundingorPohtization- Thisproductmaybe equipped with a
polarizedalremaring-currentline plug (a plug having one bladewider
thanthe other).This plugwillfitintothe poweroutletonlyoneway.This
isa safetyfeature.If youare unableto insertthe plug fullyinto the out-
let, try reversingthe plug. If the plugshouldstillfail to fit, contactyour
dectricianto rephce your obsoleteoutlet.Do notdefeat the safetypur-
pose0fthe polarizedplug.
15) Power-Cord Protection- Power-supplycordsshould be mutedso
that they arenot likelyto bewalkedonorpinched byitems placedupon
or againstthem, payingparticular attention to cords at plugs, conve-
niencereceptacles,and the point wherethey exitfromthe product.
14) OutdoorAntenna Grounding- Ifan outsideantenna or cablesys-
reinisconnectedto the product, besum the antenna orcablesystem is
groundedso as to provide some protection againstvoltagesurges and
built-up static charges.Article 810 of the National ElectricalCode,
ANSI/NFPA70, providesinformationwith regard_to proper grounding

15) Lightnlng- For addedprotectionforthisproduct during_/lightning
storm, orwhen it islef_unattended and unused forlongperiodsof time,
unplug it from the walloutlet and disconnectthe antenna orcable sys-
tem. This will prevent damageto the product due to lighming and
power-linesurges.
16) Po_r Lines- An outsideantenna systemshould net be locatedin
the vicinityof overheadpowerlinesorotherelectriclight orpower cir-
cuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When
installingan outsideantennasystem,extreme care should be taken to
keep from touching such power linesor circuits as contact with them
might be fatal.
17) Overloading- Do notoverloadwalloutlets,extensioncords,orinte-
gralconveniencereceptaclesas thiscan resultin a riskof fire ordectric
shock.
18) Object and Liquid Entry- Never push objectsof any kind into this
product through openings as they may touch dangerousvoltage points or
short-out parts that could resultin afire or electric shock. Never spill liq-
uid of any kind on the product.
19) Servicing - Do not attempt to service this product youmelf as open-
ing orremoving covers may expose you to dangerous voltage orotherhaz-
ards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
20) Damage RequiringService- Unplug this product from the wall out-
let and referservicing to qualified service persound under the following
conditions:
a) When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged.
b) If liquid has been spilled, or objectshave fallen into the product.
c) If the product has been exposed to rain or ware_
d) If the product does not operate normally by following the operating
instructions. Adjust only those controls that are covered by the operating
instructions as an improper adjustment of other controls may result in
damage and will ofi;enrequire exremive work by a quali_ed technician to
restorethe product to its normal operation.
e) If the product has been dropped or damaged in any way.
f) When the product exhibits a distinct change in performance - this
indicates a need for service.
21) Replacement Parts- When replacement parts arerequired, be sure the
service technician has used replacementparts specified by the manufactur-
er or that have the same characteristics as the orighal part. Unauthorized
substimtious may _'ult in fire,electric shock, or other hazasds.
22) Safety Check - Upon completion of any service or repairs to this
product, ask the service technician to perform safety checks to determine
that the product is in proper operating condition.
23) Wall or Celliug Mounting - The product should be mounted to a
wall or ceiling only as recommended by the manufacturer.
24) Heat -The product should be situated away from heat sources such
as radiators, hear registers, stoves, orotherproducts (including ampli_ers)
that produce heat.
