* Volume control dial for conversation : Allows user to control incoming voice to from a door camera.
* Ring Volume Adjust dial : Allows user to adjust the volume of the ring tone.
* Brightness Adjust dial : Allows user to adjust the brightness of the screen.
* Contrast Adjust dial : Allows user to contrast the screen.
* Color Adjust dial : Allows user to adjust the Color of the screen.
** No.6 PTT button is used for both Priority call and GUI menu button. Keep pressing the button for 2
seconds when the LCD screen is off.
2. Operation Methods
How to operate
Installation and initialization
1. Turn on the power after a camera and an interphone are connected. Please be aware that 4 wires used to
connect camera and interphone have polarity. When they are connected, camera will automatically check
if it is NTSC or PAL.
(Connect camera first and turn it on. If you do not connect camera or connect camera after the Video
phone is turned on, it will malfunction)
* Caution: CDV-51AM is designed to be used with a color door camera. Coupling with a B/W
camera occur a technical problem in use.
2. Press MONITOR and TALK button for 2 seconds for initialization
* Caution : If you initialize it, the setting will be defaulted. When it is initialized, saved image will
be deleted.
3. You can check the version, if you press OPEN button for a while in standby mode
Visitor Calls
1.When the call button is pressed by a visitor at the door camera, it will chime and visitors’ image will be
shown on the screen.
2.Once the image of visitor is displayed on the monitor, press “Talk” button to talk with a visitor.
(Maximum 60 seconds is available to talk on the phone.) If you do not press call button, the screen will
be off after 30 seconds.
3. Press the call Button again to end the conversation and the monitor screen will return to standby mode.
4. Press “Door open” button to open the door while during the conversation with visitors.
(In case of Camera with door release function)
Interphone Calls
1. Press "talk" button and "interphone" button to call interphones. When you receive the call from the
interphone, the conversation will be available.
(It is available to talk on the phone for Maximum 60 seconds)
2. When making a call from the interphone unit to Monitors, electrical bell sound shall be rung.
Press “talk” button to start talking.
3. When you receive a call from camera while talking with interphone, Visitor’s image should be showed on
the monitor. It shall be possible to talk between each unit, monitor, interphone and camera if you press
talk button.
Note : When you finish the conversation, please be sure to press “talk” button to end the
conversation.

Monitoring
1. Press monitoring button. Then, camera image from the lobby will appear for 30 seconds.
2. Monitoring sequence (Screen will be changed by clicking the button in following sequence below)
1) Camera1
2) Camera 2 (Standby mode [if there is no camera])
3) Standby mode
Priority talk
1. When there is impeding noise that disturbs conversation from the door camera, make conversation while
you keep pressing the “PTT” button. Then, only voice from the monitors will be delivered to the door
camera unit.
Recording visitors image
Manual recording
Press and hold monitor button in monitoring conversation mode for 1 second. Then, recording icon will be
shown on the screen and a cut of image will be recorded.
Auto recording
In auto recording mode, a cut of image is saved every time a visitor pushes the call button.

GUI functions
Press and hold the PTT button for 1 second in standby mode. Then the screen will be displayed like below
CDV-51AM do not have touch screen function. Therefore, please use the button next to each icon.
(Please press the PTT button for more than 1 second to return to Standby mode.)

Press buttons to turn 4 pages at a time.
Button to switch to full-screen mode.

Saved images
Press and hold the PTT button for 1 second in standby mode. Then the screen will be displayed like
below CDV-51AM do not have touch screen function. Therefore, please use the button next to each
icon.

Press the icon.

Complete setting by pressing the button.
Return to previous menu by pressing the button.
1. Auto record setting
In Auto record setting, every visitor image will be automatically recorded whenever the door camera
button is pressed by a visitor.
2. Manual record setting
In manual record setting, press the monitoring button for one second. Then, recording icon will pop up
and a cut of visitor’s image will be recorded.
Note : It shall be set as a “ Auto Record” mode from manufacturer.
* Maximum 128 cuts can be saved. If it exceeds its capacity, new image will replace the first image and the
first image will be deleted automatically.
Move to Auto or manual save by pressing the button.

Click the icon.

Move to setting menu.
Select “Yes” or “No” by pressing the buttons.
Select “Delete all” by pressing the buttons. (If “Yes” is selected, another window will appear for
