Masimo LNCS Neo Sensor Application: Hand User guide

  • Hello! I've reviewed the user manual for the Masimo LNCS Neo, LNCS Infant, and LNCS Y-I pulse oximetry sensors. This document provides information on proper application techniques of sensors for various patient groups, including newborns and children, based on their weight. It explains where to apply each sensor (hand, foot, fingers, toes) and the proper emitter and detector alignment. I am ready to answer any questions you have about the contents of this manual.
  • When should I use the Neo sensor?
When should I use the Infant sensor?
What is important when applying the sensors?
What should I do if the Neo sensor no longer aligns when wrapped?

When do I use the
Neo Sensor?
The Neo sensor is for use on the hand or foot
of very small babies. The recommended
weight is less than 3 kg.
The Neo sensor is also for use on the finger
or toe of large children greater than 40 kg.
ALWAYS ensure you check for good sensor
alignment as your child grows. When the
emitter and detector no longer align when
wrapped on the hand or foot you will need
to switch to an Infant sensor on the finger or
toe.
When do I use the
Infant Sensor?
The Infant sensor is for use on the fingers
and toes of infants and children.
The recommended range is for infants
greater than 3 to 20 kg in weight.
Use this sensor when the Neo sensor no
longer aligns properly on your childs’ hand or
foot.
