NRS COMMUNITY BED

3 BAR STEEL SIDE RAILS

P80423 NRS Community Bed 3 Bar Steel Side Rails

1. INTENDED USE

The NRS Community Bed Side Rails have been

designed to keep the user safe from rolling out of the

bed.

2. SAFETY

Warning: The NRS Community Bed Side Rails are

only designed for use with the NRS Community Beds,

models P78269, P78271, P78283, P78295. They should

not be used on any other make or model of bed.

Warning: A risk assessment must be carried out before

use.

3. UNPACKING

Remove the packaging and check all parts carefully.

Contact your supplier immediately if parts are missing or

damaged and do not try and assemble.

3.1 Contents:

1. Side Rail (right-hand-side) x 1

2. Side Rail (left-hand-side) x 1

3. Plastic Side Rail Clips x 2

4. ASSEMBLY/INSTALLATION

4.1 Fitting and Removing the Side Rails

NRS recommends ﬁ tting the steel 3-bar side

rails before extending the bed.

1. Using the bed hand control, raise the bed to the

maximum height in accordance with the NRS

community bed user instructions.

2. Undo the 2 x locking screws on one side of the bed.

3. Insert the plastic side rail carriages into the side rail

channels, taking care not to snag the wires.

The extending section of the side rail must

always be ﬁ tted at the foot end of the bed.

Make sure the side rail label faces up at the

head end of the bed.

4. While holding the side rail assembly in place, tighten

the locking screws at both ends of the bed.

You must make sure all locking screws are

fully tightened before you proceed to the

next step.

5. Remove the plastic side rail clips (A). Store safely as

these will be needed to remove the side rails.

6. Repeat for the opposite side of the bed.

Please make sure that you read and follow these

instructions carefully. Keep these instructions in a

safe place for future reference.

Reverse the steps in Section 4.1 to remove the

side rail assembly.

NRS recommends using the optional side rail

loading channels (P82055) to assist the

loading/unloading and transportation of the

3-bar steel side rails (Refer to the instructions supplied

with the side rail loading channels for details.).

5. SIDE RAIL OPERATION

5.1 Raise the Side Rails

1. Lift the top rail of the side rail assembly all the way

up until it clicks past the spring-plungers at both

ends of the bed.

Check the rails are fully secure at both

ends before you release.

5.2 Lower the Side Rails

You must make sure the locking screws at

the bottom of the side rail channels are

fully tightened before you do the following

steps.

1. Lift and hold one end of the side rail and pull the

spring-plunger to release the side rail.

2. Gently lower the side rail.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other end of the side

rail.

6. MAINTENANCE

Check the channels are free from obstructions or debris.

Regularly check the threads of the locking screws.

7. CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

Clean regularly using a general purpose, neutral

detergent and warm water.

Please check the suitability of the cleaning products

before use. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cloths

as these could permanently damage the surface and

invalidate any warranty.

To disinfect, wipe with a dilute bleach solution, and rinse

thoroughly with fresh water.

Allow product to fully dry prior to use/storage.

8. PRODUCT DISPOSAL

This product must be thoroughly cleaned/sterilised prior

to disposal.

This product is manufactured from metal and plastic and

can be disposed of through Local Authority Household

Waste and Recycling Centres or through Local Trade

Waste Collectors.

9. PRODUCT GUARANTEE

NRS Healthcare guarantee this product for a period of

12 months, from the date of purchase, against faulty

materials and workmanship.

This guarantee does not cover; fair wear & tear, abuse,

misuse, interference or tampering with any part of the

product.
