Angled Fence Extension Brackets are used to raise the
height of your EXISTING fence to create an angled
perimeter. Ensure your fence is a minimum height of
1.8m before installing brackets and netting.
This system works on the premise of a cat not wanting to
climb upside down on an unstable surface.
Note: For enclosures built close to a boundary or
against a fence, always discuss with your neighbor or
check with your city council for any planning approval
requirements.
Installation of these brackets will be dependent on your
type of fencing. They can be attached to most types of
fences including timber and colorbond fences.
For installation of these Fence Brackets, we recommend
you work with at least one another person to ensure
they are installed safely and securely.
Position the straight post against the
fence and secure it into place using
appropriate screws for your surface
(Screws are not included).
We recommend fixing one Fence
Bracket per existing fence post or
installing the Fence Brackets no
more than 3m apart.
Once the Straight Pole is fixed to the
fence, connect the Angled Pole to the
top of the Straight Pole to fully
assemble each Fence Bracket.
Note:
TIP
Using tensioned wire rope to build a
frame like structure is the most
common way to attach cat netting to
your fence, including metal and
composite fencing and for a
professional timber fence installation.
For timber fences, you can also use
Galvanized U-Shape Stapes to secure
the netting to your fence.
Calculate the number of Multi-Surface
Eyelets you will require to guide the
wire rope along its path. We
recommend one 50cm plus any
additional eyelets that may be needed
to guide the wire around corners.
Note: You may need to replace the
installation screws that come with your
Multi-Surface Eyelets to suit your
installation surface.
On the end brackets in your installation,
attach an eye bolt through the hole at
the top of the Angled Pole and through
the hole at the bend. The eye bolts will
be used to end your run of wire rope at
each side of your installation.
Be sure to align the pin lock on the
Straight Pole with the hole on the
curve of the Angled Pole, and make
sure that the poles click securely in
place.
If the Straight Pole does not insert
far enough into the end of the
Angled Pole for the pin lock to
connect, you may need to use some
force to join the poles together. It is
important that the pin lock engages
and locks the 2 poles together.

Ensure there are no tall trees, garden sheds or other
objects close to the fence perimeter that your cat can
climb and use to jump over the Angled Fence brackets
and your cat enclosure installation.
All netting must be installed as taut as practically
possible.
Once you have finished installing your Fence Brackets
and cat enclosure, Catnets recommends monitoring
your cat(s) in your yard for a period of time to assess
their behavior and to ensure there are no objects they
can climb, and no gaps in your installation they can
escape from before you are comfortable before
leaving them unattended.
SAFETY
Catnets netting has been designed for use by cats only
and is not covered for damage resulting from dogs or
other animals housed in OR outside of the enclosure.
IMPORTANT:
67
Use cable ties to secure the netting to the
Fence Brackets especially the fence
brackets installed in a corner.
Start from the top guide wire and line
up the edge of your netting to the
wire rope and secure the net using net
C-Clips.
TIP: for ease of installation and for a
more professional finish, we
recommend edging the sides of the
net with edging rope. This should also
help you clip the net to the wire rope.
For the middle and bottom guide wire,
weave the edging rope through the
net while the net is hanging and has
been secured to the top guide wire.
45
At this stage, the wire should be LIGHTLY
tensioned using a turnbuckle.
For each run of wire, one turnbuckle and
two aluminum crimps will be required.
The turnbuckle will tension the wire and
the crimps (or wire grips) will hold the
wire in position at each end.
Locate the holes at the top of the Angled
Pole and the hole at the bend of the Fence
Bracket and feed stainless steel wire rope
through the holes, running parallel with
the fence.
This wire will act as a support frame to
keep the netting taught between each
post. There is also a pre-drilled hole for a
third guide wire at the base of the Fence
Brackets to help keep the netting at the
bottom taut and hard against the fence.
