FLOW CONTROL (TWINPOWER) - PATENT PENDING
The Epic second stage comes with a flow control at the junction between the hose and the second stage. The flow
control works like a motorcycle throttle and has two positions, VAD and VAD+.
In the VAD+ position, Epic delivers unbridled
performance in a very smooth and natural way. The VAD position on the other hand chokes the flow ever so slightly, for a more
on-demand breathing experience. The regulator is compliant with the EN250:2014 norm in both positions.
NOTE:
Although the performance of the second stage has been optimized in the two predefined positions of the
control, it complies with EN250:2014 even if inadvertently set to an intermediate position.
BREATHING RESISTANCE ADJUSTMENT
Epic features a breathing resistance control knob on the left side of the regulator. Optimum performance is delivered when the
knob is turned all the way out (counterclockwise when looking at the knob). For specific situations in which you require a higher
breathing resistance, turn the knob clockwise to add compression to the spring acting on the demand valve.
OCTOPUS ASSEMBLY
Use a 4mm allen wrench to remove the LP port plug on the first stage adjacent to the hose of the primary second stage,
then screw the loose end of the octopus hose into the open port and tighten by hand using a 14mm wrench without using
excessive force
.
