1 SET-UP THE U82 FOR USE WITH WELDCLOUD™
1. Update the U8
2
software before connecting to WeldCloud™ unit.
The enclosed USB memory contains the software to update the U8
2
. The software
can also be downloaded from ESAB Parter Login.
2. Connect the enclosed USB memory to a PC. Make sure that the computer is set to
show file extensions.
Rename: update.txt_ to update.txt and reset.txt_ to reset.txt
3. Switch off the power source.
4. Open the cover on the left-hand end of
the U8
2
control panel. Insert the
enclosed USB-memory into the USB
connector.
5. Switch on the power source. One beep
indicates that convert process is
started.
It is finished when two beeps are
heard.
6. Switch off the power source.
7. Remove the enclosed USB memory.
Close the cover. The unit is now ready
to be used together with a
WeldCloud™ power source.

2 CREATE THE DEVICE IN WELDCLOUD™
1. Login at https://www.esabcloud.com.
2. Select Asset Management.
Select a site in the Organisation
structure. The asset will be created
within this site and also get the same
location and time zone as the site.
Click Create asset.
3. Enter Asset name and click Create.
4. Click Download configuration file and save the configuration file. Remember where
the configuration file was saved.

3 CONNECT TO THE POWER SOURCE
1. Set the static IP address on the computer
Ethernet connection to:
192.168.254.10
and net mask to: 255.255.255.0
For information about how to set the
static IP address and net mask, refer to
the computer operating system
information.
2. Connect the computer to the power
source with a network cable.
3. Open a web browser on the computer
and go to:
http://192.168.254.1:8081.

4 CONFIGURE WELDCLOUD™ SETTINGS
1. Configure WeldCloud™ settings at WeldCloud Config.
2. Select Configuration type: File.
Select the WeldCloud™ configuration
file for the unit and click Upload.
The configuration file was downloaded
when creating the device in
WeldCloud™.

5 CONFIGURE NETWORK SETTINGS
Configure network settings under Settings in the menu.
1. For wireless network connection, select
the Wifi Config.
2. For wired connection, select the Wired Config. There are two options:

NOTE!
The configuration above must allow connection to Azure IoT hub:
*.azure-devices.net and MQTT communication on port 8883.
3. The configuration is done when both
arrows are green.
The power source is connected to
ESAB WeldCloud™.
