1. NOISE ON VIDEO INPUT
1.1 Description
Domain of application
Following InfoT applies to the iQ Pro projectors with following product numbers :
R9010181
R9003081
R9010211
R9010221
Above projectors contain the new generation of iQ Pro server (Single Board Computer)
Problem description
Noise in the form of dark h orizontal bars can be noticed on video source s conn ected t o the
RGB & Video input board (in a standard configuration this board is installed on Layer 1).
This noise is induced by the supply voltage of the Server (single board computer).
As a verification, this effect can be emphasized by loading the server (i.e. running a video
or media file). Switching off the server (via the OSD >General>iQ Pro Server > Off) should
remove these perturbations.

noise in the form of dark horizontal bars.
To avoid this noise, the hu m c ircuit present on the video board has to be disabled by re-
moving re sistors R71 and R80 (see pr ocedure below).
Old iQ Pro projectors upgraded with the new Server should not present
this phenomenon as the documenta tion covers the Video board adapta-
tion ( see kit installation manua l R5976950).
1.2 Video Board adaptation
For more information on how to remove this board refer to the service
manual.
The mod ificatio n is only required when in presence of the a bo ve listed
projectors and above described p henom enon !
How to adapt the video board ?

(un
)Solder tips
•In
sure that the Soldering Iron Tip is cle a n, in goo d condition a nd is fully inserted into
the h eater.
Use the appropriate Tip and Temperature.
•Dono
t exert force on the land (pad) during the (un)soldering operation. Damaged or
lifted pads may result.
Maximize the TIP to solder joint heat transfer by melting a small amount of solder on
the Tip before contact is made.
CAUTION: Proceed with caution when (un)soldering a SMD component.
