Sensory Therapy Options Shower Base
Radiance Shower Base Heating System
Radiance® is a thermal therapy innovation from MTI that applies radiant
heat technology to Designer Collection shower bases, also available for most
MTI Designer Collection tub models. Factory-installed and fully integrated,
Radiance warms the main area of the shower oor on all eligible bases. Shower bases
with integral seating may be equipped to heat the surface of the seat and the oor.
Radiance utilizes electric heating grids to provide radiant heat for the shower base
surface. Since Radiance uses only about as much energy as a standard light bulb,
leaving it on will ensure a warm shower base whenever the owner chooses to shower.
The on/o device and transformer box will ship loose with most shower bases for eld
installation. These components will be factory-installed on seated shower bases. The
transformer box will need to be accessible for any future service needs. See Designer Collection
Shower Base Installation Instructions for more details.

Shown below is standard placement of the Radiance transformer box wire leads based on drain location. The
outer edge of the shower base will be notched out at the factory to accommodate connection from the Radiance heat-
ing grids to the transformer box. Transformer box can be mounted up to 6' away. A drawing must be submitted
with order to specify alternate placement.
