SCSI Differences Between RXT and IBM LTO 2
Note: This document is an addendum to the IBM LTO-2 SCSI Reference Manual,
noting the differences between RXT SCSI commands and IBM LTO-2 SCSI
commands.

Note: The RXT SabreDrive does not currently support any Fibre Channel commands.
INQUIRY: Standard Inquiry Data
Product Revision Level field is constant with “4850”.
The Reserved field bytes 42 through 55 contain the firmware build version in the format
MM.mmm.PPP.BBB where MM is the Major Revision, mmm is the Minor Revision, PPP is the
Patch, and BBB is the Build.
INQUIRY: (0x00) Supported Vital Product Data Page
Only Pages 0x00, 0x80, 0x83, and 0xC0 are supported.
INQUIRY: (0xc0) Drive Component Revision Levels Pages
Constant with all blank characters.
MODE SENSE & MODE SELECT
Only Pages 0x01, 0x02, 0x04, 0x10, 0x1C are supported.
READ ATTRIBUTE
Not supported in the current release.
READ BUFFER
Not supported in the current release.
READ POSITION
BCU is always 1, i.e. the Number of Blocks in Buffer field does not represent the actual number
of blocks in the buffer.
SEND DIAGNOSTIC
Not supported in the current release.
RECEIVE DIAGNOSTIC
Not supported in the current release.
SET CAPACITY
No minimum size restriction on available medium.
This follows SCSI-3 Specification in that the available medium is set to a proportion of the total
capacity instead of being set to a proportion of the current available medium.
WRITE ATTRIBUTE
Not supported in the current release.
WRITE BUFFER
Not supported in the current release.
