GW Instek How to connect the input and output source with GPM-8212 User manual

  • Hello! I've reviewed the user manual for the GW Instek GPM-8212 Power Meter. The document provides instructions on wiring the device using different connection methods, including rear and front panel terminals, and configurations with or without PT/CT. It also highlights safety measures relating to current limits and how to wire for 3-phase measurements. I'm ready to answer any questions you have about the GPM-8212 based on this manual.
  • What is the maximum current allowed for rear terminal connections?
What is the maximum current allowed for front panel terminal connections?
What should I avoid doing when using both front and rear terminals?

C. Using both side terminal (***)
Front Out (LOAD) / Rear In (SOURCE)
Note: With this terminal combination, the maximum
measurable ampere is 10A only due to the front
terminal’s safety specification.
Rear Out (LOAD) / Front In (SOURCE)
Note: With this terminal combination, the maximum
measurable ampere is up to 20A.
(***): Do not connect the rear and front panel
source terminals at the same time.
Do not connect the rear and front panel load
terminals at the same time.
