E36 Track Pipe
Installation Instructions
Tools Needed:
12 mm wrench
13 mm socket
13 mm wrench
14 mm wrench or socket
15 mm socket
WD-40 or similar lubricant
WARNING: Do not use air tools on manifold nuts. Vibration
will damage 02 sensors.
1. Place car on lift and spray manifold nuts and rear muffler pipe
bolt with WD-40.
2. Disconnect 02 sensor behind catalyst. Use a 12mm or 13mm
socket or wrench to pull joint between rear muffler and catalyst.
3. Pull the six 15mm bolts holding down pipe to manifold. With
someone holding up muffler system, or support stand in place,
pull off rubber mounts. Remove system.
4. Fit new Track Pipe headers to manifold making sure gaskets
are in place. Tighten bolts.
5. Tighten all bolts and replace rubber hangers.
6. Plug on new simulators and tie strap to fuel lines (OBD2 CARS
ONLY)
