and operation, installation, and maintenance of your appliance.
Keep the operating instructions in a safe place for future reference, and give them to
any future owners of your fridge-freezer.

WARNINGS
Warning for your safety. Carefully read these instructions befo-
re installing and using the machine.
• This freezer is designed to be operated by adults. Children should not be allowed
to temper with the controls or play with the product.
• Packaging parts(e.g. foils, styrene foam) may be dangerous for children, who
could even be suffocated! You should therefore keep all packaging well away from
children.
• Any electrical work required to install the appliance should be carried out by a qua-
lified electrician or competent person.
• Check your fridge–freezer for transport damage. Never connect a damaged
appliance! If your fridge–freezer is damaged, please contact your specialist retai-
ler.
• When transporting and installing your appliance, make sure that no parts of the
refrigerant circuit are damaged.
• This appliance is heavy. Care should be taken when moving it.
• Make sure that the cable is not trapped underneath the appliance, nor touches the
motor.
• Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injuries or serious mal-
functioning. Refer to the nearest Network Centre.
• Make sure the rear part of the appliance stands against a wall as there are wor-
king parts which heat up and should not be of easy access.
• Make sure that there is a continous and adequate ventilation as a failor to do so
will result in component failure and possible food loss.
• The appliance should be left for at least 4 hours after installation before it is turned
on in order to allow the refrigerant to settle.
• This product must be serviced by an authorized NETWORK SERVICE CENTRE,
and only genuine SPARE PARTS must be employed.
• Before cleaning or reparing the appliance, make sure
to switch off and unplug.
• Never pull the plug out of the plug socket by the
supply lead, but by the plug itself.
• It is dangerous to alter the specifications or modify this
product in any way.
• These domestic refrigerators are designed to be used
specifically for the storage and conservation of food.
• DO NOT USE SHARP INSTRUMENTS to scrap off frost or ice. Frost may be
removed by using a soft plastic scraper. (See defrost instructions).
• Frozen food must not be re–frozen once it has been thawed out.
• Manufacturer’s storage recommendations should be strictly complied with.
• The lollies can cause frost burns if consumed right away from the freezer.
• Containers with flammable gases or liquids may be rendered untight by the effect

of low temperature. They may even explode! Never store containers with flamma-
ble substances, such as e. g. spray cans, cigarette lighter refill cartridges, etc., in
your fridge–freezer.
• Never operate any electrical appliances (e. g. electric ice–makers, mixers, etc.) in
your fridge–freezer.
• Do not place carbonate or frizzy drinks in the freezer as these may explode.
• Whenever there is a need of discarding an old freezer make sure to:
— Take off the doors in order to prevent children getting trapped inside.
— Have the gas R600a of the cooling system recovered before making it to scrap
iron.
DISPOSAL
Appliance packaging information
All used packaging materials are environmentally compatible and can be safety
disposed of or incinerant in a refuse incinerator!
Among the materials used, the plastic parts can also be recycled, being marked as
follows:
>PE> for polyethylene, e.g. on the outer casing and the bags inside
>PS> for polystyrene foam, e.g. padding (basically CFC–free).
The cardboard parts are made of waste paper and should also be handed to your
waste paper collection centre.
Disposing of old appliances
To protect the environment, refrigerators and freezers must be properly disposed
of. This applies to your previous machine as well as to your new appliance when
it one day reaches the end of its lifespan.
Caution! Before throwing away any appliances that have reached the end of their
service lives, you should first make them unserviceable. Pull out the mains plug,
cut the mains lead, and remove or destroy any snap catch or locks that are fitted.
In this way, you can prevent children locking (and even suffocating) themselves in
such appliances when playing and thus endangering their lives!
Disposal instructions:
– The appliance should not be disposed of together with household or bulky refuse.
– The refrigerating circuit, especially the heat exchanger on the back of the
appliance, should not be damaged.
– Your local municipal refuse disposal service or local authority will provide you
with information refuse collection times and locations.

CHANGING THE OPENING DIRECTION
Changing the opening direction of doors
If you wish to change the opening side of the doors proceed as follows:
1... Remove the handles of the doors, if they are side fixing by screws.
2... Take off the plinth pressed on to.
3... Remove the inferior hing taking care for the downer door not to fall off and not to
lose the plastic spacer. Using a 10mm spanner, unscrew the hinge pin and reas-
semble it on the opposite side.
4... Lift the downer door off the central hinge.
5... Remove the central hinge taking care for the upper door not to fall off .
6... Take the upper door off the upper hinge. Be careful not to lose the plastic ring.
7... Unscrew the plastic bolts of the opposite side of the place of the central hinge
taken out and introduce them in the holes occupied before by the hinge.
8... Unscrew the axle of the upper hing and replace it at the opposite side
Place upper door.
For the remaining parts proceed the other way round.
Once finished make sure that all joints close perfectly well as around the
door and chek that the internal light turns of when the fridge door closes.

INSTALLATION
Positioning
• Place the refrigerator away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
• Maintain recommended ventilation - see figure 2
If the appliance is positioned under a kitchen wall unit, a minimum clearance of 10
cm must be left between the top of the appliance and the overhanging wall unit.
• Make sure the refrigerator is accurately levelled turning the adjustable feet in order
to avoid vibrations and noises J Fig. 1.

INSTALLATION
Cleaning the interior
• Do not use alcohol or any cleaning product containing alcohol because it can
damage the cabinet.
• Before using the appliance for the first time wash the interior with luke warm water
and some neutral soap so as to remove the typical smell of a brand - new product
and then dry thoroughly.
• Do not use detergents or abrasive powders as these will damage the finish.
• Remove security used for transportation.
Electrical connection
• Before plugging the appliance into a socket make sure that the voltage and fre-
quency shown on the rating plate correspond to your home supply.
• It is essential that the appliance be connected to an efficient earth tap. For this pur-
pose the supply cable plug incorporates a special earth contact. If the sockets of
your domestic wiring system are not grounded, have the appliance connected to a
separate ground wire in accordance with existing safety regulations.

Starting–Up
• Plug the appliance into the wall socket.
• Make sure the inner light illuminates when opening the door.
• Turn the «temperature knob» A to position n.º 3 to 4.

Dynamic Air Cooling System (Cool & Dry): N Fig.1
The dynamic air cooling system can be used for better cooling efficiency at high
ambient temperature (above 25 °C) and high quantity of stored food in the refrigera-
tor compartment to get:
• Quicker refrigeration
• More homogeneous temperature
To start the dynamic air cooling system push the button on the fan
housing. The green pilot light comes on.
To switch off push the button again. The green pilot light goes out.
When the dynamic air cooling system is switched on, the cooling is more efficient. To
avoid large accumulation of frost, you should turn the temperature regulator to this
adequate position: .

REGULATION AND CONTROL
Freezer Compartment:
This freezer, marked ,is suitable for freezing food and permits long
term storage of frozen food.
The appliance must be connected for at least 3 hours before introducing food.
Freezing of food:
1) Place food on the upper grill I (figure 1).
2) Maintain food for at least 24 hours in that position.
3) The maximum quantity to be frozen within 24 hours is shown on the «Rating
Plate», depending on the model.
Conservation of frozen food:
• For a safe storage of food the temperature inside should never rise above –18° C.
• An adjustable thermostat is regulating this temperature automatically.
• Make sure the «Temperature Regulator» is on a medium setting.
• However, it may sometimes be necessary (due to poor ventilation, high room tem-
perature, frequent opening of the door…) to graduate the setting of the
«Temperature Regulator».
• In case of an accidental stop of the appliance or a power cut proceed as follows:
• Keep the doors closed at all events.
• Try to find out for how long the failure will continue.
• Once reestablished to normality:
A) If the freezer is fully loaded and the power failure is less than the time indicated
on the «Rating Plate» no damage has been done to the food stored.
B) If the freezer is fairly loaded the «rising of the temperature» is reduced. If tha-
wing has not yet started proceed as said in previous point.
C) If thawing has started, consume the food immediately, or cook it and then free-
zen it again.

Refrigerator Compartment:
This compartment is meant for keeping drinks and fresh food.
The inner temperature is quite equalized. Avoid food touching inner walls, as the
cold is being produced in there and the food could partly get frozen. On the other
hand this would avoid a perfect circulation of the cold air.
This appliance is provided with an automatic defrosting device. You therefore might
find sometimes a fine layer of ice or water drops.
For physical reasons, the refrigerator compartment has different temperature zones.
The coldest zone is on the lowest shelf above the fruit and vegetable trays. Warmer
zones are the upper storage shelves and door racks. The arrangement example in
Fig. 3 shows the refrigerator compartment position at which suitable temperatures for
different types of food are available.

Useful Hints
Do not introduce any new food during a freezing period.
• Do not put any newly introduced food for freezing near to already frozen food.
• Wrap the food up properly or place it in hermethic recipies before introducing it into
the freezer.
• Do not introduce any hot food into the freezer.
• Food and drinks of a strong flavour may pass this on to others and affect their fla-
vour. Wrap them up adequately or put them into tight closing bags.
• Follow the instructions given in the cook books, freezing books and wrapping uten-
siles for better conservation of food.

Warning! Prior to undertaking any maintenance operation, be sure to unplug the
appliance.
Defrosting of the freezer
Warning! Do not use electric heaters or other mechanical or artificial means to
speed up the defrosting process, other than those recommended in this booklet.
The inner walls of the freezer become gradually covered with a layer of frost keeping
in mind not to open the door frequently and keeping the food wrapped up in closed
bags.
Whenever the thickness of ice reaches 5 mm. the frost should be removed. Hereto
proceed as follows:
• Remove all food staff and place it in the coolest possible place.
• Remove the ice from the walls with a soft plastic scraper. Never use any sharp
metal tools, electric ovens or similar as these may cause serious damage to the
appliance.
• Once the ice is eliminated, clean and dry the appliance.

Defrosting of the refrigerator
Frost is automatically eliminated in the refrigerator.
Clean regularly the water drain opening «G» (figure 1).
Cleaning
Warning!
– Unplug the appliance before carrying out any cleaning operations. Risk of elec-
tric shocks! Switch off the appliance and pull the plug from the socket, or remo-
ve or unscrew the safety fuses.
– For safety reasons, never clean the appliance with steam cleaners. The humi-
dity could filter into the appliance’s electrical system and hot steam could
damage plastic components.
– Thoroughly dry the appliance before switching it back on.
• Do not use alcohol or any cleaning product containing alcohol because it can
damage the cabinet.
• Use lukewarm water and neutral soap or bicarbonate of soda for cleaning the inte-
rior and the exterior of the appliance. Never use detergents nor abrasive powders.
• Clean the water container above the motor.
• Extract the base pulling it outwards in order to permit cleaning underneath the
appliance.

Idle periods
During periods when the appliance is not in use take the following precautions:
• Unplug the appliance.
• Defrost and clean the interior and all accessories.
• Remove all food.
• Leave the door ajar to permit the air to circulate in the interior and thus avoid unple-
asant smells.
HINTS ON ENERGY–SAVING
• Avoid positioning the appliance close to cookers, radiators or other heat sources.
When the ambient temperature is high, the compressor always operates more fre-
quently and for longer.
• Make sure the appliance is adequately ventilated. Keep its ventilation openings
clear.
• Allow hot food to cool before placing it in the appliance.
• Place food to be thawed in the refrigerator compartment. In this way, the cold from
deep–frozen food helps to cool this compartment.
• Open the door only for the amount of time strictly necessary.
• Do not run the appliance at a temperature which is lower than necessary.
