PM2.5
Fine dust is also known as PM2.5. This refers to the size of the dust particles, half of
which at PM2.5 are particles with a diameter of 2.5µm and a smaller proportion of larger
particles and a larger proportion of smaller particles.
The size of the fine dust is usually less than that of a bacterium and can therefore not be
seen with the naked eye.

Filter system:
Prefilter
The main filter has a pre-filter cover. This is a relatively wide-meshed filter which catches
the coarsest particles from the air flowing through it. This process additionally protects
the HEPA filter element from these particles and thus increases the service life of the
HEPA filter.
HEPA Filter
In order to remove even the smallest particles, the room air flows through a HEPA filter
during the cleaning process, which absorbs pollen, fine dust and spores among other
things.
Activated charcoal filter
In the next step, the air now freed of solids is filtered through an activated carbon filter.
processed. In this working process odours and toxins are absorbed. Here
granulated activated carbon, as this has a high degree of efficiency and a large
total surface area.
Photocatalytic filter
With the help of this filter odours and bacteria can be fought effectively. Organic
compounds are broken down by means of the photocatalytic effect produced by
irradiation with UV light. Oxygen atoms are attached to organic compounds and gradually
broken down into H2O and
CO2.
Ultraviolet light
Besides the activation of the photocatalysis filter, the ultraviolet radiation has a
disinfecting effect. Thus bacteria and viruses are killed by the irradiation with UV light.
Ionizer
In the last step, the air that finally flows out of the device is mixed with a small amount
of
of negatively charged ions. These ions are deposited in the room air on the smallest
particles
and charge them statically. The charged particles then tend to accumulate with other
particles and form larger clusters which can then be more easily absorbed by the filter
medium.
EN-11 www.comedes.com
Notes on air cleaning for cigarette smoke
Cigarette smoke consists of numerous complex chemical compounds. For the air purifier,
it is essentially divided into solid components of smoke and gaseous components of
smoke. The solid smoke particles are filtered out by the HEPA filter. The gaseous
components are absorbed by the activated carbon filter.
The device should be placed as close as possible to the smoke source.
The unit should not be placed on the floor (for smokers it is recommended to place it
on a table).
Depending on how many cigarettes are smoked, the service life of the filter is
shortened.
Information on air cleaning in case of problems with pollen
The air purifier is able to filter all common pollen from the air. These remain in the HEPA
filter. We recommend the creation of a refuge so that the device can develop its full effect
and significantly reduce the pollen concentration,
that contains the air purifier. The device can only remove airborne allergens. But not
allergens that have already deposited on beds, walls, furniture, etc.. Therefore
Please note the following information:
Carry out a basic cleaning of the room before using the device.
Do not use dust cloths for cleaning, but a damp cloth.
Vacuum upholstered furniture at least once a week. Use a vacuum cleaner suitable for
allergy sufferers.
Wipe the room wet at least once a week.
Depending on the size and design of the room, let the unit run at levels 1-4 during
the day. Place the device on a table. Don't put it on the floor.
Turn off the device for sleeping.
Set the fan speed to 5 during ventilation. The best time to air the rooms is between
6:00 and 8:00 in the morning in cities or from 19:00 in rural areas.
Information on air cleaning in case of problems with house dust
House dust is usually produced by mites, which can be found in upholstered furniture,
cushions, blankets and
Mattresses live. The house dust remains there for the time being. The air purifier can
only remove house dust
out of the air. Therefore, it is recommended to turn off sources of house dust before you
an air purifier.
Cover mattresses allergen-proof (Encasing).
Cover pillow and duvet allergen-tight.
Wash pillows and duvets frequently.
Replace older mattresses.
Use vacuum cleaner with fine filter.
Vacuum mattresses monthly.
Avoid dust traps in the bedroom.
Do not place indoor plants in the bedroom.
This product must not be disposed of with household waste. This air purifier
must be disposed of at a recycling point for electronic and electrical
equipment.
