LIGHT BASE_WIRING
Navigation rules require running lights (bi-color and all-round) to be operated
separately from anchor lights. Use either two separate switches or one switch
with three positions for off/anchor/running. The Bi-color navigation light requires
a 1-amp fuse. The aluminum pole is not connected to an electrical ground.
NOTICE
Navigation light poles are designed to support only the light. They
should never be used as flag poles or handles.
LOCATION
Lights must be mounted to an unobstructed smooth surface on the gunwale,
deck or superstructure. Locate Bi-color Combination Light in an area as far
forward as possible (See Figure 1).
BASES THAT USE CAM-LOCK LOCKING COLLAR (FIGURE 2)
1. Remove both screws from base end of pole.
2. Slide dual locking collar (supplied) over terminal connector and past screw
holes on pole.
3. Replace only screw closest to base end of pole.
4. Align pole screw with the slot in the existing base. Insert pole into base.
5. Press down firmly to engage electrical connectors.
6. Slide locking collar down to base, rotate until you can tighten lower ring inside
top of base.
7. After installation, check lights to verify proper operation.
8. To remove, rotate locking collar in opposite direction until it loosens and pull
pole straight up
BASES THAT USE THREADED DUAL LOCKING COLLAR (FIGURE 3)
1. To reverse locking collar, remove screw at bottom of pole. Slide locking collar
off end of pole, reverse and slide on pole with non-threaded end first.
Replace screw.
2. Align pole screw with the slot in the existing base. Insert pole into base.
3. Press down firmly to engage electrical connectors.
4. Slide locking collar down to base, align threads with base and rotate the collar
clockwise to secure fit.
5. After installation, check lights to verify proper operation.
6. To remove, rotate locking collar in opposite direction (counter-clockwise)
until it loosens and pull pole straight up.

MAINTENANCE
Periodically check pole to make sure it is secure. When not in use, store in
Pole Light Storage Clips (Attwood part #7571). Choose a storage location where
light will not be damaged or be in constant contact with water. Close the base
cover when light is stowed to protect the contacts and seal the deck.
REPLACING BULB (FIGURE 5)
1. Twist lens helmet 1/4 turn counter-clockwise to remove.
2. Replace with #906 9-Watt Wedge Base Replacement Bulb (Attwood 9235-7)
available in marine, auto, and convenience stores.
3. Re-seat lens helmet and twist 1/4 turn clockwise until it clicks.
Clean the light with a mild soap and warm water solution. Never use
solvents or abrasives that may damage the lens or housing of the light.

CAUTION
MAKE SURE POWER SOURCE IS 12-VOLT DC ONLY. HIGHER VOLTAGE WILL
DAMAGE LIGHT AND CIRCUITRY.
Read all instructions carefully before installing and using this product.
All positive (+12V DC) lighting wires require a 1-amp fuse to protect
circuits and vessel. The aluminum light pole is not grounded.

WARNING
To prevent personal injury, disconnect power when installing or
servicing this product. Remove boat from water before using any
120V AC power tools.

TO CONVERT POLE FOR USE WITHOUT LOCKING COLLAR (FIGURE 4)
1. For bases that do not accept locking collar, remove screw at bottom of pole.
Slide dual locking collar off end of pole.
2. Replace screw in the upper screw hole.
3. Insert pole into base, aligning screws with slot in base.
4. Press down firmly to engage electrical connectors.
5. After installation, check lights to verify proper operation.
6. To remove light, pull straight up.

1. Insert pole into base, aligning screws with slot in base.
2. Press down firmly to engage electrical connectors.
3. Lock pole in position with lock mechanism of base.
4. To remove light, unlock pole from base and pull straight up.
