Instructions:
STEP 1: Position the HitchGrip to the side of your hitch ball with the handle pointing toward the rear, or bumper of
your vehicle. Then tilt the tool downward and slide it onto the ball, laterally, to engage hitch ball. Make sure that the
HitchGrip is centered down then centerline of the ball mount to ensure even distribution of weight.
CAUTION: Do not engage HitchGrip if not aligned down centerline of ball mount / hitch head assembly. Two hands
recommended for hitch installation and removal.
STEP 2: Lift up on the handle of the HitchGrip so that the carbide tips evenly engage the ball. Once upward lifting
force has been applied and the tool has firmly engaged the ball, you can carry and maneuver your ball mount
assembly safely and securely.
STEP 3: Once aligned, lift to securely engage the hitch ball mount assembly and slide into receiver. Once you have
installed your ball mount in your hitch receiver, you can also use the HitchGrip to easily line up the hitch pin holes.
Recommended Clearance for Over-Sized Shanks / Drop Hitches
If you are utilizing an oversized shank or “drop hitch”, the HitchGrip may not work on your assembly. In order to
ensure safe use, it is recommended that you do not exceed 4-1/4" between the top of the shank and the top of your
trailer hitch receiver. If there isn't enough space between the HitchGrip handle and the top of hitch assembly, or
shank, you may not be able to get your hand securely around the handle for safe and effective use.
Disclaimer Information:
Practice extreme caution when transporting, removing or installing the hitch assembly using HitchGrip. The hitch
assembly, or ball mount, is subject to movement, or load-shift, as it exits the receiver tube. It is suggested that all
attachments be removed from the hitch assembly, or at a minimum, restrain these attachments from moving while the
hitch is being coupled or decoupled from the tow vehicle. Always use proper lifting techniques when utilizing
HitchGrip.
