Safety Precautions
The following safety precautions must be taken when using your air cleaner.
1 The air cleaner must be installed in accordance with national wiring regulations and safety regulations
wherever applicable.
2 Some installation locations may require installation of a short circuit breaker or grounding.
3 If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a specialist or service person.
4 MAKE sure that the unit is correctly ventilated at all times: do NOT place clothing or other materials over it.
5 NEVER spill any kind of liquid into the unit. Should this happen, unplug the unit and contact an authorized
service center.
6 Do NOT insert anything between the air outlet blades because the inner fan may be damaged and could
cause injury. Keep children away from the unit.
7 Do NOT place any obstacles in front of the unit.
8 Users of this product are cautioned not to attempt repairs. Instead, they are requested to directly contact a
designated service center or the outlet at which the product was purchased.
9 Use of an extension cord is not recommended if use of extension cord, it shall the use of cord with
grounding conduct and comply with national wiring regulations.
10 The appliance is not intended for use by young children without supervision; young children should be
supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
11 Never store or ship the air cleaner upside down or sideways to avoid damage to the unit.
12 If the remote control will not be used for a long time, remove the batteries.
The manufacturer does not assume responsibility of the accident or injury caused by an
incorrectly installed air cleaner. If you are unsure about installation, contact an installation
specialist.

Getting Started
You have just purchased an air cleaner and it has been
installed by your installation specialist.
Your Owner’s Instructions contain valuable information on using your
air cleaner. Please take the time to read them as they will help you take full
advantage of the unit’s features.
The booklet is organized as follows.
The following figures are shown on pages from 4 and 5 :

They will help you find the buttons and understand the symbols displayed.
In the main part of the document, you will find a series of step-by-step
procedures for each function available.
The illustrations in the step-by-step procedures use 4 different symbols:

PRESS PUSH IMPORTANT NOTE
Inserting the Remote Control Batteries
Push the battery cover on the rear of the remote control with your thumb
in the direction of the arrow and remove it.
Insert the two batteries, taking care to respect the polarities :
+ on the battery with + on the remote control.
- on the battery with - on the remote control.

Close the cover by sliding it back until it clicks into place.

Use two AAA, LR03 1.5V batteries.
Do not use old batteries or different kinds of batteries together.
Batteries may be completely discharged after 12 months, even
if they have not actually been used.
You must insert or replace the remote control batteries when :

Selecting the Automatic Operating Mode
You can start the air cleaner in the Automatic mode from your remote
control. In the Automatic mode, the optimum fan speed is selected
automatically.

: The air cleaner runs in the Automatic mode.
The unit beeps.

If you adjust the fan speed in the Automatic mode, the mode
will be cancelled.To adjust the fan speed, refer to page 10.
If necessary, press the (On/Off) button.
Result: The DEODO. and AUTOMATIC indicators on the unit come on.
The air cleaner starts up in the Automatic mode.
The unit beeps.
The air cleaner checks the level of air pollution, then displays it
after about 1 minute from starting.
Red means that the air is impure.
Green means that the air is clean.
To control the direction of the air flow, refer to page 11.

Adjusting the Air Flow Direction Vertically
You can adjust the position of the outer air flow blades on the unit,
thus increasing the efficiency of the air cleaner.
1 Adjust the outer air flow blades to the desired position, by pushing
them upwards or downwards.
Adjusting the Air Flow Direction Horizontally
Just as the outer air flow blades can be adjusted vertically, the inner
blades can be adjusted horizontally.
1 Adjust the inner air flow blades to the desired position, by using the
handle.

Setting the Timer
The timer enables you to set the air cleaner to switch off automatically after
a given period time, by pressing a button.

Press one or more times until the desired period is displayed:
Result
: Each time you press , the unit beeps.
The operating time is displayed and decreases automatically to
indicate the remaining time.
The air cleaner switches off automatically when the operating
time reaches zero.

To Cancel the Timer
Setting the Sensitivity & Cleaning Cycle
You can set the sensitivity of the pollution detection sensor and
cleaning cycle of filters.

Turn the air cleaner off, then open the front grille.

Set the sensitivity by adjusting the sensitivity switch.
Power Failure

If a power failure occurs when the air cleaner is operating, the unit is switched
off.When the power returns, you must press (On/Off) to restart it.

Set the replacing/cleaning cycle of filters.

If you select LONG, you can use the Ionizer filter for about
4 months, the deodorizing filter for about 5 months.If you select
SHORT, you can use the Ionizer filter for about 3 months, the
deodorizing filter for about 4 months.
For details of cleaning filters, refer to pages 14~16.
(Sensitive) :The sensor senses minute particles and
tobacco smoke.
(Insensitive) :The sensor senses pollutants when indoor air
becomes very impure.
Cleaning Your Air Cleaner
3 When you have finished, insert the air filter back into its original
position.
4 Wipe the surface of the unit with a neutral detergent and then wipe it
again with dry cloth. (Be sure not to use benzene, solvent or other
chemical products.)
2 Remove all dust on the air filter with a vacuum cleaner or brush.
1 Open the front grille, then pull out the air filter.

Be sure to clean the filters periodically to maintain the air cleaner in the
best condition for a long period of time.
When cleaning your air cleaner, turn it off and pull out the power plug.
If there is too much dust on the air filter, dissolve a neutral
detergent in tepid water, then wash the filter lightly with the
water. After cleaning the filter, dry it in the shade.
3 Clean the filter with running water.
4 Dry the filter in the shade, then insert the filter back into its original
position.
2 Dissolve an alkaline detergent in tepid water, then put the filter in the
water for 30 minutes.
1 Open the front grille, then pull out the Ionizer filter by using the filter
handle.
5 Press the FILTER RESET button for minimum 3 seconds with a
pointed thing, then close the front grille.
Result: disappears.
If flickers, clean the Ionizer filter.

Do not handle the detergent with bare hands.
Do not place the filter in the water for a long time.
It may damage the filter.
To Clean the Ionizer Filter
You had better clean the Ionizer filter when flickers.
However, if you operate the air cleaner in a place which gets
dusty easily, clean the filter on occasion.
Cleaning Your Air Cleaner(cont.)
If flickers, clean the deodorizing filter.
Open the front grille, then open the case of the Ionizer filter.1
Pull out the deodorizing filter located at the rear of the Ionizer filter.2
Clean the filter by shaking it in tepid water.3
Dry the filter in the shade, then insert the filter into the original position.4
Press the FILTER RESET button for minimum 3 seconds with a pointed
thing, then close the front grille.
Result:
disappears.

You had better clean the deodorizing filter when flickers.
However, if you operate the air cleaner in a place
which gets dusty easily, clean the filter on occasion.

EXPLANATION / SOLUTION
Check that the plug fuse used for the air
cleaner has not been triggered.
Check that the power cable is plugged into
a wall socket and the socket is switched on,
if necessary.
Press (On/Off) on the remote control or
unit.
Check that there are no obstacles between
you and the unit.
Replace the remote control batteries if
necessary.
Check that you are close enough to the unit
(seven metres/yards or less).
