Before You Begin
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Shut off the main water supply.
Inspect the tubing for any sign of damage. Replace if necessary.
If possible, install this faucet before installing the sink.
If installing to other than a Kohler Side Spout faucet, you will
need to purchase an adapter to connect the outlet of the filter to
the faucet inlet.
This system and installation must comply with state and local
laws and regulations.
Only install the filtration system to a cold water supply. Do not
use with hot water systems.
Filter cartridges should be replaced every 3-6 months, when
capacity has been exceeded, or when a noticeable decrease in flow
is observed.
If needed, clean the exterior of the unit with mild soap and water.
Do not use chemical cleaners. Do not connect to a dishwasher.
Do not install the filtration system to a water line whose pressure
exceeds 125 psi (862 kPa).
Make sure the unit is not installed with hoses under tension. Do
not overtighten connections.
Keep the filter and plastic cartridges away from heat or flame.
Do not install the unit where the temperature may drop below
freezing.
This unit is designed to be installed under a sink. Make sure that
the bottom of the filter cartridge is at least 2 (5.1 cm) from the
floor of the cabinet.

faucets without notice, as specified in the Price Book.

1. Remove the Existing Cartridge
NOTE: The filter assembly may be removed from the cabinet wall to
help facilitate cartridge replacement.
Firmly grasp the filter cartridge and slowly turn it 90° clockwise
until the groove in the cartridge lines up with the OFF on the
filter head. The system will automatically cut off the water supply
when the cartridge is removed.
Pull the cartridge down to remove it. A small amount of water
may be discharged during removal.
Discard the old cartridge.

Write the date on

2. Install the New Cartridge
Write the installation date on the new filter cartridge label.
Remove and discard the cap.
Inspect the cartridge for any damage.
Make sure that both O-rings are present and positioned correctly
in the grooves.
Moisten the O-rings with water. Do not use petroleum products
to lubricate the O-rings.
Align the groove in the top of the cartridge with the OFF on the
filter head.
Insert the top of the cartridge into the filter head.

Install the New Cartridge (cont.)
Turn the cartridge counterclockwise 90° until it stops.
Run the faucet for at least 2 minutes for models K-201 and K-202
or 10 minutes for model K-203 to remove any air in the system.
Any air left in the system may temporarily cause the water to be
cloudy.
Check for leaks.

Cartridge Replacement Information
Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate
disinfection before or after the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on
disinfected waters that may contain filterable cysts.
Filter cartridges should be replaced every 3-6 months, when capacity has been exceeded, or
when a noticeable decrease in flow is observed, whichever comes first.
