lefthand¼“BSPthreadoftheValve.Attachasuitable50mbarlow-pressureregulatorontheotherend
ofthehose.ThehoseassemblyusedmustcomplywithDIN4815part2orequivalent.
• Thehoselengthshouldbenolessthan800mmandshallnotexceed1.5m.Checkthemanufacturedate
onthehoseandreplacewhennecessaryorwhennationalregulationsrequireit.
• Donottwistorpinchhose.Ensurethehosedoesnotcomeintocontactwithanysurfacesthatwould
becomehotduringuse.
• Beforettingtheregulatortoagascontainer,ensurethatthesealontheregulatorisinpositionandingoodcondition.Thisshouldbe
donewitheveryconnectionandbeforeeveryuse.
• Beforettingyourgascylinder,ensurethattheValvesareallinthe“OFF”positionbyturningtheControlKnobclockwisetoitsstop.
• Ensurethatthegascontaineristtedorchangedinawell-ventilatedlocation,preferablyoutdoors,awayfromanysourceofignitionsuch
asnakedamesorelectricresandawayfromotherpeople.
• Makingsurethatthegascontaineriskeptupright,screwtheregulatorontothecontaineruntilitisfullyengaged.Hand-tightenonly.
• Ifthereisaleakonyourappliance(smellofgas),closethecylindervalveimmediatelyandfollowtheproceduretodetectandstopaleak
underSection3.Ifyouwishtocheckforleaksonyourappliance,doitoutsideusingsoapywateronly,whichisappliedtothejoints.A
formationofbubbleswillindicatethegasleak.
• Checkthatalltheconnectionsaresecurelyttedandre-checkwithsoapywater.Ifyoucannotrectifythegasleak,donotusethe
appliance.ContactyourlocalCADACstockistforassistance.
• Whenchangingagascontainer,rstlyclosethecontainervalve(iftted)andthenturntheControlKnobclockwisetoitsstopposition.
• Ensuringthattheameisextinguished,unscrewtheregulator.Retafullcontainerfollowingthesameprecautionsasdescribedabove.
6. Lighting the appliance
Precautions to observe before lighting.
• Afterprolongedstorage,inspecttheAirHolesintheValveCoverforinsects,whichmayaffectgasow.InspecttheinletoftheVenturi
forinsects.Afterchecking,retallcomponentsintotheprescribedposition.
• Use this appliance only on a fi rm level surface.
Usingthecontrolknob
Thecontrolknobisttedwithtwopositivestoppositions,oneatlow,andoneatIgnite/High.Thislimitstheadjustmentoftheameto
betweenthesetwopoints.
LightingupusingthePiezoIgniter
• Tolightuptheapplianceusingthepiezoigniter,pushinandturnthecontrolknobinananti-clockwisedirectionuntilyouhearaclick.
Ifthegasdoesnotigniteontherstspark,pushin,andturnthecontrolknobfullyclockwise.Tryagain,bypushinginandturningthe
controlknobanti-clockwiseuntilyouhearaclick.Ifthegashasnotignitedinthersttwotothreesecondsyoushouldclosethecontrol
valvebypushinginthecontrolknob,andturningitfullyclockwise.Waitapproximatelythirtysecondstoletanyaccumulatedgaswithin
theburnerpanassemblyescape.Repeattheaboveprocessifnecessaryuntiltheameignites.Theameshouldnormallylightupwithin
therstoneortwoseconds.
LightingupusingaBBQlighter
• Whenstartingcold,theappliancemaybelitfromthetoppriortottingthedesiredcookingsurfaceontothefatpan.Whenlightingup
ahotappliancehowever,itisrecommendedthatthisbedonebystickingbarbecuelighterthroughoneoftheVentHolesunderneaththe
Burner,untilitisinlinewiththeburner(DONOTplacetheBBQlighterthroughthelargeholedirectlyunderneaththeburner).Ignitethe
BBQlighter.WhilsttheBBQlighterislit,pushinandturnthecontrolknobanti-clockwisetolighttheburner.
General
• Oncetheapplianceislit,theameintensitymaybeadjustedbyturningthevalveknobanti-clockwisetoreducetheame,orclockwise
toincreasetheame.
• Thefullyclosedpositionisatthefurthestclockwiseposition.Torotatethevalvefromthefullyclosedpositionitisnecessarytorst
depresstheknobjustenoughtomoveoutofthelockmechanism.Whileholdingtheknobin,turnitinananti-clockwisedirection.Once
thespindlehasmovedoutofthelockpositionitisnolongernecessarytokeepthecontrolknobdepressedanditcanberotatedfreelyto
thedesiredamesetting.
• TheamemaybeobservedthroughtheInspectionHoleprovidedforthispurposeonthesideofthefatpan.
• Whencookingfoodwithahighfatcontent,aringmayoccuriftheselectedheatsettingistoohigh.Shouldthishappen,turntheheat
downuntilthearingceases.
• Donotmovetheappliancewheninuseas,apartfrombeinganunsafepractice,tomovetheappliancewhilstlit,maycausearing.
• Afteruse,rstclosethevalveonthegascontainer(whereapplicable).Whentheamehasextinguished,closethevalveonthe
appliancebypushinginandturningtheControlKnobfullyclockwise.
