POWER LUX
5
Welcome as an owner of a Power Lux motorised nozzle! Thank you for showing your confi-
dence in this first-class product. When used correctly, the nozzle will make vacuum cleaning
easier for many years to come.
Your new power nozzle is intended for household only. It is an excellent complement intended
for textiles (however it should not be used on leather furniture). The nozzle is not intended for
vacuuming floors. Please read these operating instructions prior to use of the power nozzle.
1. Attach the power nozzle directly to the hose handle.
2a. Connect the power nozzle cord to the connector on the hose handle. The power nozzle
can be turned on and off using the button on the hose handle.
or
2b. Fit the hose clips on the hose. Make sure the clips are fitted at even distances. Then
connect the power nozzle cord to the extension cord and connect this to the electrical
connector on the vacuum cleaner. The power nozzle can now be operated using the start/
stop pedal on the vacuum cleaner.
3. To remove the power nozzle, disconnect the power nozzle cord from the connector and
depress the locking device on the power nozzle.
4. When vacuum cleaning textiles, for best results hold the power nozzle at an angle as
shown in the picture.
5. Use the tapered nozzle of the power nozzle to, for example, vacuum between cushions.
6. Always disconnect the power cord before cleaning the power nozzle. Make it a habit to
always clean the nozzle after use. If threads and other matters get caught in the brush,
carefully cut along the cutting line of the roller, being careful not to damage the brush; then
remove the remaining threads. Vacuum the cut off parts using the vacuum cleaners narrow
nozzle. The power nozzle can be wiped clean with a damp piece of cloth.
If the power nozzle stops during vacuuming, it could indicate overheating. In this case,
proceed as follows: Disconnect the power cord. Make sure there is nothing blocking the
brush roller. Allow the power nozzle to cool down and do not use it for the next 10 minutes.
The power nozzle can then be used again. If the power nozzle does not start again after this
procedure, contact your local service centre.
Optional accessory
Adapter for using the nozzle together with older-type vacuum cleaners.
Only for household and indoor use!
To minimise the risk of fire:
• Do not vacuum close to smoke, sparks or fire,
e.g. cigarettes, matches, warm ashes or flammable
fluids or gasses.
• Do not vacuum in places where flammable or in-
flammable fluids or gasses could be encountered.
• Do not spray air fresheners into or onto the vacuum
cleaner, since it could explode.
To minimise the risk of electric shock:
• Do not leave the vacuum cleaner/power nozzle con-
nected when not in use. Disconnect the power cord
when the vacuum cleaner is not to be used.
• Carefully observe the instructions in the operating
instructions. Service and repair work should only be
made an authorised Lux service centre. Use only
spare parts and accessories recommended by the
manufacturer. Never try to modify the power nozzle
on your own.
The power nozzle has double insulation, as indicated
by the symbol (
) on the type plate. Products with
double insulation do not have any ground connector.
To minimise the risk of injury or product dam-
age:
• Do not clean plastic parts using cleaners contain-
ing solvents.
• Do not pull he vacuum cleaner over its power cord.
• NOTE! To prevent damage to the unit and inju-
ries, a damaged cord should be replaced only by
the manufacturer or an authorised service centre.
• Keep moving the power nozzle during operation
to avoid quick wear.
