The CaliforniaAir ResourcesBoard (CARB),U.S.EPAand
B&S are pleasedto explainthe Emissions Control System
Warranty on your small off-road engine (SORE).In
California, newsmall off-road enginesmodel year2006 and
later must be designed,built and equippedto meet the
State's stringent anti-smog standards. Elsewherein the
United States, new non-road, spark-ignition engines certified
for model year 1997 and latermust meet similar standards
set forth by the U.S.EPA.B&S must warrant the emissions
control system on your enginefor the periods of time listed
below, provided there hasbeen noabuse, neglector
improper maintenanceof your small off-road engine.
Your emissions control system includes parts such asthe
carburetor, air cleaner, ignition system, fuel line, muffler and
catalytic converter. Also included may be connectors and
other emissions related assemblies.
Wherea warrantable condition exists, B&S will repairyour
small off-road engine at no cost to you including diagnosis,
parts and labor.

Coverage
Small off-road engines arewarranted relativeto emissions
control parts defects for a period of two years, subject to
provisions set forth below, if anycovered part on your
engine is defective,the part will be repaired or replacedby
B&S.
Owner's Warranty Responsibilities
Asthe small off-road engine owner, you are responsiblefor
the performance of the required maintenancelisted in your
Operatingand Maintenanceinstructions. B&S recommends
that you retainall your receipts covering maintenanceon
your small off-road engine,but B&S cannot denywarranty
solely for the lack of receiptsor for your failure to ensurethe
performance of all scheduled maintenance.
As the small off-road engine owner,you should however be
awarethat B&S may denyyou warranty coverageif your
small off-road engine or a part hasfailed due to abuse,
neglect, improper maintenanceor unapproved modifications.
You are responsiblefor presenting your small off-road engine
to an Authorized B&S Service Dealerassoon as a problem
exists.The undisputedwarranty repairsshould be completed
in a reasonableamount of time, not to exceed30 days.

Theemissions warranty is a defects warranty. Defectsare
judged on normal engine performance.Thewarranty is not
relatedto an in-use emissions test.

Emissions Control DefectsWarranty Coverage.it is in
addition to the B&S enginewarranty for non-regulated
enginesfound in the Operator's Manual.
