Important Safeguards
When using any electrical appliance, especially when children are present,
basic precautions should always be followed, especially the following:-
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AND KEEP THEM HANDY
FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
Always operate this electrical appliance from a power source of the
same voltage as indicated on the identification plate.
This electrical appliance is not intended for use by young children or
infirm persons without supervision.
Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with this electrical appliance.
Always “unplug the electrical appliance” immediately after use.
Under no circumstances should this electrical appliance be placed
in water or other liquid.
Do not use this electrical appliance with wet or moist hands.
If this electrical appliance falls into water, “unplug it” immediately.
Do not reach into the water.
Do not operate this electrical appliance with a damaged cord or
plug.
Do not operate this electrical appliance if it is not working properly;
if it has been damaged or dropped or dropped into water or any
other liquid.
This electrical appliance must only be used for its intended use as
indicated in the instruction manual. This electrical appliance is only
for domestic household use.
Do not leave this electrical appliance unattended when in use.
Do not operate this electrical appliance outdoors.

When opening the lid take care. The kettle generates heat and
steam at a high temperature which will escape immediately the lid is
opened.

Do not operate this appliance unless the lid is firmly in place.
Do not place or store this electrical appliance in a position where it
may fall into a bathtub, hand basin, toilet, sink or vessel containing
water or any other liquid.
Allow cooling before cleaning.
Do not operate this electrical appliance where aerosol products are
being used or where oxygen is being administered
Do not use this electrical appliance in a confined space.
Do not touch hot surfaces. Use knobs and handles.
Always use this electrical appliance on a dry and level surface.
Do not allow the power cord to hang over the edge of a table or
working surface.
Do not place this electrical appliance near a gas flame, electric
element or in a heated oven.
Only use the attachments provided with this electrical appliance.
Always use this electrical appliance well away from curtains, drapes
or wall coverings.
Do not cover the Steam Vent Hole.
During or immediately after cooking, the area near the Steam Vent
Hole is kept at high temperature. To avoid burns do not touch this
area.
CAUTION: Do not immerse the base, cord or plug in water or any other liquid.
If water accidentally enters the switch mechanism or spills onto the
heating plate, carefully unplug the power cord from the power
outlet.
Allow drying thoroughly before using the electrical appliance again.
Before First Use
Carefully unpack the rice cooker and steamer and remove all
packaging material.
Wipe over the body of the rice cooker with a soft dry or damp
sponge or cloth. Do not use any abrasive cleaners as they may
scratch the surface.
Wash the removable rice bowl and steamer, measuring cup and
spatula in warm, soapy water with a soft cloth or sponge.
Rinse and dry thoroughly.
Introduction
The rice cooker provides a simple, trouble free method of cooking perfect rice.
The warm function automatically keeps the rice warm, fluffy and ready to
serve for up to 5 hours.
Many other foods can be cooked in the rice cooker and steamer such as
vegetables, fish, meat, seafood and poultry.

Operating Instructions
Preparation
Before each use, ensure that the outside of the rice bowl is
clean and dry and that the heat sensor in the centre of the
heating plate, on the inside of the base, is clean, dry and cool.
Handle the rice bowl carefully. Scratching or denting the bowl
may result in unsatisfactory performance. The heat sensor
needs to establish contact with the rice bowl, if not the rice will
not cook properly.
CAUTION: Make certain that the rice is washed thoroughly until the water
appears clear before commencing the cooking process.
How to Cook Rice
Using the measuring cup provided measure out the required
quantity of rice and water. (Consult Rice Cooking Chart)
Add the rice and water to the rice bowl ensuring that both the
rice and water are evenly spread across the bowl.
Place the rice bowl into the base and place the lid into position
on the rice bowl. Ensure that the rice bowl makes proper
connect with the heat sensor on the heating plate.
Connect the power cord to the power supply and turn ON
Press the Cooking button to start the cooking process, the
COOK indicator light will come on.
When cooking is complete the cooking button will automatically
turn off and the WARM indicator light will come on.
The rice will keep warm for up to 5 hours. Please ensure that
you have at least 3 cups of cooked rice in the rice bowl for the
WARM indicator function.
If you do not require the WARM function simply unplug the
power cord from the power outlet.

How to Steam Cook
Add water to the rice bowl and place into the base ensuring that
the rice bowl makes proper connect with the heat sensor on the
heating plate.
Place the steamer onto the inner rim of the rice bowl. Place the
food in the steamer and cover with the lid.
Plug the power cord into the power supply and turn the rice
cooker on.
Press the COOK button to start the cooking process. The
COOK indicator light will come on.
Once the cooking process is complete immediately turn off the
rice cooker
Care and Cleaning
Ensure the rice cooker is turned OFF and DISCONNECTED from
the power supply.
Ensure the rice cooker is completely cool before cleaning.
Wipe the base with a soft, damp cloth or sponge. Remove stubborn
spots with a cloth moistened (not wet) with a mild detergent. Do not
use abrasive cleaners as they will damage the surface of the rice
cooker.
Wash the rice bowl and the steamer if used and accessories in
warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
If cooked rice sticks to the bottom of the rice bowl fill the rice bowl
with warm soapy water and let stand for approximately 10 minutes.
