purchased the product from.
1. About the Product
This product is a hard disk drive in accordance with 3.5-inch SATA standard.
Please use this product in accordance with the procedures described in this document.
This product can be used for the CONTEC’s following models. (Don’t use this product with
any other devices.)
Target Products
This product is the FA computer (VPC series) and custom-made PC (Solution-ePC) RAID
model which have a 3.5-inch disk bay.
* The RAID model requires two hard disks of the same type.

Handling Precautions
WARNING
Do not modify the product. Doing so may cause fire, electric shock.
If smoke or abnormal odor is detected, immediately turn off the PC and peripheral
devices and unplug the power cables.
Never touch this product with wet hands. Doing so can short-circuit the product to
cause fire, electric shock, and/or failure.
CAUTION
Do not use the product in water, oil, chemical solution, organic solvents, or any other
fluid.
Do not use the product in a location exposed to direct sun, outdoors or dust.
Do not use the product in a location exposed to sea breeze, a large amount of corrosive
gases such as Cl2, H2S, NH3, SO2, or NO2.
Do not use the product in the environment with strong static electricity or
electromagnetic waves. It may cause failure.
Do not use this product fully sealed or coated with such as resin.
Take countermeasures beforehand to handle the product and avoid a shock.
Do not touch the connector pin with your hand or put foreign objects into connector
mating part.
This is a precision product. Handle with care when transporting or assembling.
Be sure to turn off the product power before inserting or removing the interface
connector.
CONTEC bears absolutely no responsibility for use if modified drive.
Excessive vibration or impact greater than its specification, if this HDD is subjected to,
might cause a fatal error that is not recoverable.
HDD has a lifetime. The assumed life is, with the conditions under the specified
environment, POH or the designed life, whichever shorter. The lifetime is not guaranteed
but is for reference only.
This product is designed to be plugged only in one orientation. Do not force it to be
plugged in.
No part of this document may be copied or reproduced in any form by any means

The drive may be damaged if the product power is turned off during initialization after
the powering on the product. Do not turn off the power within 30 seconds after turning
on the product power.
