ging it from the electrical outlet. Never pull on the cord to
disconnect the appliance from the electrical outlet; instead,
grasp the plug and pull on the plug to disconnect the
appliance.
4. Do not let the cord touch hot surfaces. Let the appliance cool
completely before putting the appliance away. Coil the cord
loosely around the appliance when storing.
5. To reduce the risk of electric shock, always disconnect the
appliance from the electrical outlet before filling it with water,
emptying the water from the water tank, before cleaning and
when the appliance is not in use.
6. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not fill above the
“Max” marking.
7. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or if the
appliance has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk
of electric shock, do not disassemble the appliance. Take it

Caution! Hot surface!
Under no circumstances should you submerge the appli-
ance in any liquid or permit liquids to penetrate into the
housing of the appliance. Do not expose the appliance
to humidity and do not use it outdoors. If any liquid gets
into the housing, unplug the appliance immediately and
have it repaired by a qualified technician.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including
children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities
or lack of ex perience and/or knowledge unless they are super-
vised by a person who is responsible for their safety, or receive
instructions from this person on how to use the appliance. Chil-
dren should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with
the appliance.
SDRB 800 A1 US-EN 5
The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before the
water reservoir is filled with water.
The appliance must not be used if it has been dropped, if
there are visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.
The appliance must only be used and rested on a stable surface.
If the SUPPLY CORD is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer, its authorized service agent or similarly quali-
fied person in order to avoid a hazard.

Before first use
As every steam brush is tested for functionality after manufacture,
it is possible that droplets of water remain in the water tank 1.
Fill the water tank 1 with water (see section on "Filling the
appliance with water").
Insert the plug 7 into a properly installed and grounded wall
socket.
Hold the steam brush horizontally.
Set the temperature control 3 to "MAX".
Heat the steam brush up for several minutes at the highest
setting. This will loosen production residue from the ironing
sole 0.
Activate the steam burst button 8 several times so that steam
comes out of the ironing sole 0.
Then iron over a piece of scrap fabric to remove any produc-
tion residues that may remain on the ironing sole 0.
The first time the appliance heats up, a small amount of smoke
and odor may result from production-related residues. This is
normal and completely harmless. Ensure sufficient ventilation, for
example, by opening a window.
SDRB 800 A1
10 US-EN
Operation
If the clothing care instructions forbid ironing ( symbol), the
clothing item must not be treated with the steam brush. Ignoring
this warning could lead to permanent damage to the clothing
item.
Do not treat leather, velvet, waterproofed furniture or fabrics that
are sensitive to steam. Otherwise, you might cause damage to
the fabric or piece of furniture.
Filling the appliance with water
Only fill the water tank 1 with
tap water or a mixture of tap and distilled water. Never fill the
water tank 1 with chemical substances, cleaning agents (except
descaling agent) or other liquids. Do not use chemically softened
water. This could cause irreparable damage to the appliance.
If the tap water in your area is rated as hard, it is recommended
that you mix the tap water with some distilled water. Otherwise,
the jets for the steam blast function could calcify (become blocked
with limescale) prematurely.
To enhance optimal steam blast function, mix tap water with
distilled water according to the following table:
Water hardness Proportion of
distilled water
to tap water
very soft/soft 0
medium 1:1
hard 2:1
very hard 3:1
You can ask about your water hardness level at your local water
works.
SDRB 800 A1 US-EN 11
Always remove the plug 7
from the power socket before filling the appliance!
There is a risk of electric shock!
Remove the water tank 1 by sliding back the release 4 of the
water tank 1 until you can lift the water tank 1 up. Grab the
water tank 1 by the protruding grip aids with your thumb and
index finger and lift it up vertically. The temperature control 3
stays on the appliance and is not removed along with the
water tank.
Open the filler opening 2 in the water tank 1.
Use the measuring cup t to fill the water tank 1 with water
to the "Max" marking.
Close the filler opening 2 of the water tank 1. Ensure that
the collar in the filler opening 2 locks into the notch on the
lid. This means that the water tank 1 is properly closed.
Place the water tank 1 back onto the appliance. The water
tank 1 must audibly click into the release of the water tank 4.
Attaching/removing the brush extension
Never remove or attach the
brush extension w while the appliance is hot. Risk of burns!
To use the steam and brush functions, please attach the brush
extension w to the steam brush.
To do this, push the brush extension w onto the appliance
along the guide aid until it is fully attached. The release of
the brush extension q must click into place audibly.
To use the ironing function, please remove the brush extension w
from the steam brush.
To do this, push the release q downward and pull the brush
extension w off the appliance.

Steam brush function
Attach the brush extension w to the appliance. It must audibly
click into the release of the brush extension q.
Insert the plug 7 into a properly installed and grounded wall
socket.
To produce steam, set the temperature control 3 to ••• or
higher. The heat-up indicator light 5 lights up. As soon as the
selected temperature has been reached, the heat-up indicator
light 5 turns off.
To use the steam burst function, set the temperature control 3 to
••• or higher.
Lower temperatures are insufficient for producing a burst of
steam.
You can now produce a burst of steam by pressing the steam
burst button 8.
To produce the first burst of steam after heating the appliance,
you may have to press the steam burst button 8 several times in
a row.
The appliance is now ready for use.
The steam brush can be used
with any piece of clothing. Be careful when treating heat-sensi-
tive fabric such as synthetics, polyamide or artificial silk. Before
treating such materials, first process a small test patch in a less
visible spot (inside of the seam) to ensure that the hot steam does
not damage the material. Do not apply the hot ironing sole 0 to
these materials directly. Only use the steam burst function.
SDRB 800 A1 US-EN 13
Use on clothing
Hang the wrinkled piece of clothing onto a coat hanger.
Gently stretch the item with one hand and hold it, then apply
steam from top to bottom. Combine steam with the clothes
brush r for gentle removal of all wrinkles.
Gently apply pressure with the clothes brush r and move the
appliance over the piece of clothing from top to bottom. You
can press the steam burst button 8 at brief intervals.
Only repeat pressing the steam burst button 8 until the heat-up
indicator light 5 lights up or water drips from the ironing sole 0.
Wait until the heat-up indicator light 5 turns off before initiating
another burst of steam.
If the heat-up indicator light 5 lights up during operation, do
not press the steam burst button 8 again. Wait a few seconds
until the heat-up indicator light 5 turns off before pressing the
steam burst button 8 again.
If you press the steam burst button 8 while the heat-up indicator
light 5 is illuminated, the appliance will produce condensation
instead of steam, and water will drip from the ironing sole 0.
Allow treated clothes to cool down on a coat hanger before
wearing them.
SDRB 800 A1
14 US-EN
Use on curtains and upholstery
You can remove creases and wrinkles from curtains by hanging
them on a rail.
Simply follow the instructions under "Use on clothing".
Always carry out a test treatment on a less visible patch of the
item.
If you are using the appliance horizontally, turn it vertical every
now and then to produce the greatest possible amount of
steam.
Lint brush
To remove lint, strings and hair, slowly guide the red lint brush e
over your clothes from left to right.
Moving the lint brush e over scrap fabric or similar materials
in the opposite direction (i.e. from right to left) will clean the
brush.
Ironing function
Remove the brush extension w from the appliance (see
"Attaching/removing the brush extension").
The appliance must be connected to correctly installed and
grounded power sockets only.
Set the temperature control 3 in accordance with the interna-
tional care symbols (laundry label) or the type of fabric. The
heat-up indicator light 5 lights up. As soon as the selected
temperature has been reached, the heat-up indicator light 5
turns off.
SDRB 800 A1 US-EN 15
