3. INSTALLATION
1. Install four batteries (not included) 1.5V size AAA into the battery
compartment and check if they are placed in the right polarity before
closing the lid of battery compartment. Do not mix old with new
batteries or Alkaline with Rechargeable batteries.
2. Connect the line cord. Plug the line cord into the line socket at the
back of the machine and plug the other end of the line cord into the
modular wall jack.
3. Connect your telephone. Plug your telephone set cord into the
telephone socket at the back of the machine.
4. Connect the power cord. Plug the power transformer into an electrical
outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch.
4. SELF-CHECKING
Once the machine is connected to the power supply, the ANS LED starts
flashing and the machine enters the self-checking state. The self-checking
takes about 15 seconds, a “beep” will be heard and the ANS LED lights up.
When the battery level is too low (or no batteries into the compartment), the
BAT LED will be on.
5. OPERATION GUIDE
1. Setting the System Date and Time
Press the “REW” button to hear the current system date and time.
Keep pressing the “REW” button over 2 seconds and set the time.
The answering machine will say a weekday, adjust the day backwards by
pressing the “REW” button and forwards by pressing the “FFW” button,
confirm by pressing the “PLAY” button. Then, set the hour; use the “REW” or
“FFW” buttons to adjust and press “Play” to confirm the setting. Then, set the
minutes; use the “REW” or “FFW” buttons to adjust and press “PLAY” to
confirm the setting. The answering machine will return to waiting state after
saying the new set time.
During the setting, press the “ON/OFF” button to escape and cancel the
setting, the machine will keep the previous time setting.
2. Recording an outgoing message (OGM)
Press the “OGM” button to hear the current outgoing message.
Keep pressing the “OGM” button over 2 seconds and the ANS LED flashes.
When a “beep” is heard, speak loud into the microphone to record an OGM
and press the “ON/OFF” button at the end of the message. The maximum
recording time for an OGM is two minutes, when going over, the recording
will stop automatically.

3. Volume Adjustment
Press the “VOL-” button to decrease the volume or the “VOL+” button to
increase the volume.
4. Working State
Press the “ON/OFF” button once to turn on or off the answering machine.
The machine is in “ON” state, when the ANS LED is on. Select “answer and
record” mode (OGM1) or “answer only” mode (OGM2) by moving the “OGM”
switch. When using the machine in the OGM1 mode, the machine will send
out your personal OGM (if recorded) or the default OGM, followed by a
“beep”, to inform the caller that the recording starts.
When using the machine in the OGM2 mode, it is required to record a
personal OGM at first, because there is no default OGM in this mode. In the
OGM2 mode the caller will hear your message after 2 ring sounds and no
message can be recorded, the line will be disconnected 5 seconds later.
During these 5 seconds, the caller has the possibility to start up the remote
control by entering the (3 digit) pass code.
Attention: when a call is coming in and the machine is in “OFF” state, the
answering machine connects automatically after 10 ring sounds into remote
control mode. This means that other telephones connected to the system
will stop ringing.
5. Mail Box
Keep pressing the “MAILBOX” button to choose the default mailbox. The
machine will say 0,1,2 (public mailbox, private mailbox1, private mailbox2),
press the button once again while hearing the number of the mailbox you
want to choose. Each mailbox can record memos, two-way conversations
and incoming messages.
6. Memo Recording
Keep pressing the “PLAY” button and release it when the ANS LED is
flashing. Begin to speak the memo after hearing the “beep”, press the
“ON/OFF” button to stop. The machine will automatically stop the recording
when the memory is full.
7. Two-Way Recording
It is possible to record the phone conversation during the call.
Keep pressing the “PLAY” button for 4 seconds, hearing a short “beep” and
then a long “beep”, the ANS LED flashes, release the button to start the two-
way recording of the phone conversation. Press the “ON/OFF” button to
stop. The machine will automatically stop the recording when the memory is
full.

8. Playing the Recordings in the Mailbox
Press the “Play” button to play the recordings (incoming messages, memos
and two-way recordings) in the default mailbox. The machine will play the
time and date stamp followed by the recorded message. If there are new
recordings in the mailbox, it will play the new recordings only. When there
are no new recordings, it will play all the recordings in the mailbox in
chronological way.
While the machine is playing a recorded message; press the “FFW” button
to skip to the next message.
While the machine is playing the date and time stamp; press the “REW”
button to replay the previous message.
While the machine is playing a recorded message; press the “REW” button
to repeat the present message
Press the “ERASE” button to erase the present message. Keep pressing the
“ERASE” button over 2 seconds to erase all the messages in the present
mailbox.
Press the “PLAY” button to insert a pause, and press the “PLAY” button
again to continue playing the message.
Press the “ON/OFF” button, to stop playing the recorded messages.
9. Incoming Message (ICM) Recording
Turn on the answering machine (ANS LED is on) and set it in OGM1 mode.
When a call is coming in, the machine will connect automatically and play
OGM1 or the default OGM followed by a “beep”. The calling party may now
record an ICM. The recording stops automatically when the caller has
hanged up. If the memory is full, it will indicate “memory full” and the line will
be disconnected. During playing the OGM, the caller can press “” to start
the ICM recording directly. The ANS LED will be flashing when an ICM is
recorded.
10. Setting Remote Control Code
Press the “FFW” button to play the present remote control code (default
code is 000). Keep pressing the “FFW” button over 2 seconds to change the
remote control code. The answering machine will speak out the first digit,
adjust the digit by pressing the “REW” or “FFW” button, and confirm by
pressing the “PLAY” button. Do the same to adjust the second digit and the
third digit. During the setting, press the “ON/OFF” button to escape and
cancel the setting, the previous code will be kept.
11. BAT LED Indicator
Batteries (not included) are needed to keep the settings and messages in
memory during a power failure.
If the BAT LED indicator stays off, the batteries have plenty of power.
If the BAT LED indicator is on, then please change the batteries immediately.

6. REMOTE CONTROL
When the answering machine is turned ON (ANS LED is on) and in OGM1
mode, the caller can activate the remote control function, after hearing the
“beep”, by entering the 3 digits of the remote control code. The machine will
turn in waiting state, enter the operation code within eight seconds or the
machine will automatically disconnect the line.
1. Operating the Recordings
Press “10” to play the new messages in the public mailbox.
Press “11” to play the new messages in the private mailbox1.
Press “12” to play the new messages in the private mailbox2.
Press “20” to play all messages in the public mailbox.
Press “21” to play all messages in the private mailbox1.
Press “22” to play all messages in the private mailbox2.
Press “6” to skip to the next message.
Press “4” to repeat the previous message.
Press “5” to repeat the present message.
Press “3” to erase the present message.
During the playing of a recorded message, press “” to insert a pause and
hit the key again to continue the playing.
Press “#” to stop the playing and return to the remote control waiting state.
When the playing is finished and no keys are pressed within 8 seconds the
machine will hang up automatically.
Press “#” to stop or hang up the phone.
2. Erasing Messages
Press “30” to erase all messages in the public mailbox.
Press “31” to erase all messages in the private mailbox1.
Press “32” to erase all messages in the private mailbox2.
3. OGM Recording
Press “7” to record a new outgoing message.
Hearing a “beep”, you can record a new OGM through your phone, press “#”
to stop. The maximum length of the OGM is two minutes; the recording will
stop automatically when the time is up. When the recording is done, the
answering machine will play once the new recorded OGM.
4. Monitoring Mode
Press “8” to enter the monitoring mode. The caller will hear all noises nearby
the answering machine, press “” within 30 seconds, to prolong the
monitoring time for another 30 seconds.

6. Remote Control Menu
Press “” and you will hear the vocal help of the remote control menu.
7. Caller Identification (CID)*
The answering machine has a built-in CID system. This system can store up
to 70 numbers of incoming calls in memory, all tagged with date and time
indications. Use the “!” and “"” keys to scroll trough the list of the recorded
phone numbers. Press the “SET/DEL” button to delete one number from the
list or press this button about 2 seconds to delete the entire list.
* Caller Identification is a service that must be supported by your local
operator.
Keep pressing the “SET/DEL” button over 3 seconds to enter the
setting menu:
1. Setting the calendar
The first entered submenu is the calendar setting. Set the year, month, day,
hour and minutes by pressing the “!” and “"” keys, confirm each setting by
pressing the “SET/DEL” button.
2. Setting the local prefix code
After setting the calendar, you will enter the LOCAL prefix code setting.
When you set your local prefix code (max. 5 digits), the CID system will wipe
off automatically the local prefix code from all local numbers.
Press the “!” and “"” keys to adjust the local prefix code, confirm the
setting by pressing the “SET/DEL” button until you enter the next submenu.
When you do not want to use this function then save it as “- - - - -“ by
pressing the “SET/DEL” button for several times.
3. Setting OL
This submenu is not for use, please press the “SET/DEL” button until you
enter the next submenu.
4. Setting LCD contrast
Press the “!” and “"” keys to adjust the LCD CONTRAST and confirm by
pressing the “SET/DEL” button. The contrast can be adjusted in 7 steps.
5. Other settings
When leaving the LCD CONTRAST submenu, a lot of other submenus will
appear. Please do not use them as they are not applicable to this device.
When entering the setting menu and no button is pressed within 10 seconds,
the machine will automatically return to the normal mode.

8. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS & ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION
Protect the device against humidity, dust, direct sunlight and extremely
cold (<10°C) or warm temperatures (>40°C).
This is an electrical device. When it is drenched in water or other liquids,
always disconnect the power adaptor and the line cord firstly before
removing the device.
Place the device always on a clean and solid surface.
Do not press to hard on the buttons, treat the machine gently.
Clean the device with a soft cloth, do not use liquids or sprays.
Always remove the batteries before storing the device.
Use no other than the original supplied power adaptor (12V DC 300mA).
Do not open the machine.
Environmental information

appliance that you have just purchased. It may therefore contain
substances that are dangerous to health and the environment.
To prevent further distribution of these substances and to limit the use of
natural resources, you are encouraged to use the appropriate recycling
systems. With the help of these systems, most of the components of your
old appliance will be reused or recycled.
The symbol of a crossed-out rubbish bin means that you are requested to
make use of these systems.
