Thissectionprovidesinstructionsforselectingalocationandpreparing
thesitetoinstallthereplaceintoyourDimplexmantelsurround.
1. Selectasuitablelocationthatisnotsusceptibletomoistureandis
awayfromdrapes,furnitureandhightrafc.
2. Foreaseofelectricalhookupyoumaywishtolocatethereplace
nearanexistingoutlet.(RefertoNOTE1)
3. Storethereplaceinasafedryanddustfreelocation.
NOTE: Thedimensionsofthereplaceare26inches(660.5mm)
wideX187/8inches(479.5mm)highX91/4inches(235mm)
deep.Thereplacedoesnotrequireanyadditionalventing.
Fireplace Installation
1. Installthereplaceassemblyintothemantel.(Refertomantel
assemblyinstructions)

Option #1-Thepowercordcanbeleadfrombehindthetrimand

A. Main ON/OFF Switch
TheswitchhastwoONpositionsmarked.The“--“positionisfor

B. Heater ON Switch
TheHeatON/OFFSwitchsuppliespowertotheheaterfanandthe
heaterelement.WhentheswitchisintheONpositiontheheater
operatesifthethermostatcallsforheat.
C. Heater Thermostat Control
Toadjustthetemperaturetoyourindividualrequirements,turnthe
thermostatcontrolclockwiseallthewaytoturnontheheater.When
theroomreachesthedesiredtemperature,turnthethermostatknob
counter-clockwiseuntilyouhearaclick.Leaveinthispositionto
maintaintheroomtemperatureatthissetting.Foradditionalheat,turn
clockwiseuntilyouheartheclickagainandtheheaterwillturnon.
Resetting The Temperature Cutoff Switch
Shouldtheheateroverheat,anautomaticcutoutwillturnthereplace
offanditwillnotcomebackonwithoutbeingreset.Itcanberesetby
switchingtheMainON/OFFswitchtoOFFandwaiting5minutes
beforeswitchingtheunitbackon.
CAUTION: Ifyouneedtocontinuouslyresettheheater,disconnect
powerandcallDimplexcustomerserviceat1-888-DIMPLEX
(1-888-346-7539).
Remote Operation
Thereplaceissuppliedwithanintegratedon/offremotecontrol
NOTE: Ensure that the replace Main ON/OFF switch is set to
the remote control setting.

Remote Initialization
Intheeventthatyourremote
control ceases to operate
yourreplace,followthese
stepstore-initializethehand-
heldtransmitterandtheremotecontrolreceiverinthereplace:
1. PlacetheMain ON/OFF Switch(Figure5A)intheOFF(“o”)
position.
2. Waitaminimumof5secondsandthenplacetheMain ON/OFF
SwitchintheRemoteControl(“=”)position.
3. Within10secondsofchangingtheswitchposition,presstheON
buttonlocatedontheremotecontroltransmitter(Figure6).
Thiswillsynchronizetheremotecontroltransmitterandthereplace
receiver.
NOTE: Youwillhaveonly10secondstoperformthislaststep.
Failuretodosowillresultinthesestepsneedingtobefollowed
again.

Light Bulb Replacement
Allowatleast5minutesforlightbulbstocoolbeforetouchingbulbsto
avoidaccidentalburningofskin.
Lightbulbsneedtobereplacedwhenyounoticeadarksectionofthe
ameorwhentheclarityanddetailofthelogemberbedexterior
disappears.Therearetwobulbsunderthelogset,whichgeneratethe
amesandembers.
Light Bulb Requirements
Quantityof2clearchandelierorcandelabrabulbswithanE-12(small)
socketbase,60Wattrating.Example:GE60BCorPhilips60CTC.
Do not exceed 60 Watts per bulb.
Helpful Hints
Itisagoodideatoreplacebothlightbulbsatonetimeiftheyare
closetotheendoftheirratedlife.Groupreplacementwillreducethe
numberoftimesyouneedtoopentheunittoreplacelightbulbs.Care
mustbetakenwhenremovingthelogset.
To Access The Lower Light Bulb Area: (Figure 7)
1. Removefrontglassassembly.
2. Pullthebackedgeofthe
plasticemberbedforward
untilthereartabreleases
from the ledge located at
thebottomofthemirror.
IMPORTANT: Onlyhandle
thelogsetbytheemberbed.
NOTE: Logsettstightly
intorebox,someforce
maybenecessaryto
remove.

cloth.
Toremovengerprintsorothermarks,theglasscanbecleanedwitha
dampcloth.Theglassshouldbecompletelydriedwithalintfreecloth
topreventwaterspots.Topreventscratching,donotuseabrasive
cleanersorsprayliquidsontheglasssurface.
Fireplace Surface Cleaning
Toremovengerprintsorothermarks,theexteriornishcanbe
cleanedwithadampclothwithamilddetergent.Thesurfaceshould
becompletelydriedwithalintfreeclothtopreventwaterspots.

havebeentestedandinspectedpriortoshipmentand,subjecttotheprovisionsof
thiswarranty,Dimplexwarrantssuchproductstobefreefromdefectsinmaterialand
workmanshipforaperiodof1yearfromthedateofrstpurchaseofsuchproducts.
Thelimited2yearwarrantyperiodforproductsotherthanreplacesurrounds(mantels)
andtrimsandthelimited1yearwarrantyperiodforreplacesurrounds(mantels)and
trimsalsoappliestoanyimpliedwarrantiesthatmayexistunderapplicablelaw.Some
jurisdictionsdonotallowlimitationsonhowlonganimpliedwarrantylasts,sotheabove

What Dimplex will do in the event of a defect
Intheeventaproductorpartcoveredbythislimitedwarrantyisproventobedefectivein
materialorworkmanshipduring(i)the2yearlimitedwarrantyperiodforproductsother
thanreplacesurrounds(mantels)andtrims,and(ii)the1yearlimitedwarrantyperiod
forsurrounds(mantels)andtrims,youhavethefollowingrights:
• Dimplexwillinitssolediscretioneitherrepairorreplacesuchdefectiveproductor
partwithoutcharge.IfDimplexisunabletorepairorreplacesuchproductorpart,or
ifrepairorreplacementisnotcommerciallypracticableorcannotbetimelymade,
Dimplex may, in lieu of repair or replacement, choose to refund the purchase price
forsuchproductorpart.
• Limitedwarrantyservicewillbeperformedsolelybydealersorserviceagentsof
Dimplexauthorizedtoprovidelimitedwarrantyservices.
• Forproductsotherthansurrounds(mantels)andtrims,this2yearlimitedwarranty
entitlesthepurchasertoonsiteorin-homewarrantyservices.Accordingly,Dimplex
willberesponsibleforalllabourandtransportationassociatedwithrepairingor
replacingtheproductorpartexceptasfollows:(i)chargeswhichmaybeleviedfor
travelcostsincurredtotraveltothepurchaser’ssitewheretheproductislocated
ifthepurchaser’ssiteisbeyond30miles(48km)fromtheclosestservicedepot
ofDimplex’sdealerorserviceagent;and(ii)thepurchaserissolelyresponsiblefor
