INTRODUCTION

This Repair Manual is designed for use by any facility which repairs ESAB, L-TEC or Linde gas

torches, cutting attachments, and regulators even though the procedures described are those followed

by ESAB Welding & Cutting Products in its own facilities to qualify for UL listing of remanufactured

product.

Re-manufacturing involves more than simply replacing defective parts. In fact, ESAB’s procedures

require complete disassembly, automatic replacement of all non-metallic parts, replacement of all

worn or damaged metallic parts, thorough cleaning of all parts not replaced, and testing after re-

assembly to ensure compliance with the original factory specifications.

The UL label which is applied by the factory before a new piece of ESAB gas apparatus is shipped

should be removed whenever a torch or regulator is repaired outside a ESAB re-manufacturing facili-

ty (even when ESAB’s procedures are followed) unless the repairing facility has obtained UL ap-

proval for listing of remanufactured product.
