Do not use with damaged cord or
plug. If appliance is not working as it
should, has been dropped, dam-
aged, left outdoors, or dropped into
water, return it to a service center for
inspection. Call 1-800-321 -1 134 for
the nearest service center or visit

Do not abuse the cord. Never carry
the charger or base by the cord or
yank to disconnect from an outlet;
instead grasp the charger and pull to
disconnect. Keep cord away from
heated surfaces. Do not pull cord
around sharp edges or corners. Do
not close door on the charger cord.
Do not handle plug or appliance with
wet hands.
This product includes rechargeable
nickel cadmium batteries. Do not
incinerate batteries or expose to
high temperatures, as they may
explode.
Unplug the charger from the outlet
before any routine cleaning or
maintenance.
Do not put any object into openings.
Do not use with any opening
blocked; keep free of dust, lint, hair,
and anything that may reduce
air flow.
Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers,
and all parts of body away from
openings and moving parts.
Do not pick up anything that is burn-
ing or smoking, such as cigarettes,
matches, or hot ashes.
Do not use without filters in place.
Turn off all controls before unplugging.
Use extra care when cleaning
on stairs.
Do not use to pick up flammable or
combustible liquids such as gasoline
or use in areas where they may be
present.
Leaks from battery cells can occur
under extreme conditions. If the liq-
uid, which is 20-35% solution of
potassium hydroxide, gets on the
skin (1) wash quickly with soap and
water or (2) neutralize with a mild
acid such as lemon juice or vinegar.
If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush
them immediately with clean water
for a minimum of 10 minutes. Seek
medical attention.
Use only the charger supplied by the
manufacturer to recharge.

Tools Required: Screwdriver and drill.
A. CHARGINGISTORAGE BASE
For tidy storage, wrap excess cord on the back of the
charging base and exit through the top, bottom, or out
one of the sides (Diagram 1).
To Wall Mount (Diagram
2):
1. Place charging base against the mounting
surface. Mark the centers of the holes.
2.
Move base, then drill a 311

hole through
the center of the marks.
3. Push plastic wall anchor into the
drilled hole.
4.
Be sure marked location is correct before
drilling the second hole (adjust if neces-
sary). Drill second hole and install other
wall anchor.
5.
Match up holes in storage base to wall
anchors and insert screws. Be sure cord
exits from one of the cord slots on the
storage base.
6.
Tighten the screws to hold the base flush
to the mounting surface.
Tool Storage:
1.
The crevice tool and *squeegee can be placed in
their appropriate holding slots on the charging base
(Diagram 3).

A. CHARGING
Designed to charge when vertically mounted on the
wall or when placed on countertop, shelf, or other flat
surface.
1. Power switch must be in the OFF position when
charging.
2.
Insert the charger plug into the wall power outlet.
3.
Place the vacuum cleaner onto the charginglstor-
age base (Diagram 1).
The indicator light will come on to indicate that
the appliance is charging (Diagram
2).
The indicator light will be on as long as the appliance
is connected to the charginglstorage base and the plug
is in the wall outlet.

The indicator liaht does not aive anv information
about the charge level of the built-in batteries.
NOTE:
Use only the charger supplied by the manu-
facturer to recharge.
IMPORTANT:
BEFORE FIRST USE, CHARGE YOUR UNIT FOR AT LEAST
24
HOURS.
Keep the charger plugged into a standard outlet at all times. It is normal for the charg-
er to become warm to the touch when charging.
If the operating time gets shorter after repeated use, leave the unit on until it stops run-
ning. Recharge for
24
hours and repeat monthly for best results.
The crevice tool and *squeegee are conveniently stored on the charging base.
Crevice Tool:
Ideal for cleaning hard to reach places.
To use, insert crevice tool into nozzle
opening (Diagram 1 a).
*Squeegee:
Necessary for picking up liquids.
Make sure the *deflector is tightly placed
in the dirt cup, then insert *squeegee into
nozzle opening (Diagram

To use:
Slide the switch to level I for normal suction
power. Slide it to level II for turbo suction power
(Diagram 1).
To turn unit off:
Slide the power switch to the off position.
Empty and clean the unit and filter after each use or after
large pick-ups when the unit becomes full.
1. Be sure *deflector is tightly placed in the dirt cup.
2. Stop picking up liquids when the liquid level inside the
dust cup has reached the fill line (Diagram 1).
3.
DO NOT
hold the appliance with its nozzle pointing
upwards, as this would cause liquid to enter the appli-
ance and damage the parts inside (Diagram 2).
4.
Empty the dust cup each time you have used the
appliance to pick up a liquid.
*Available on WetIDry models only
1. Depress dirt cup release button and pull nozzle away
from unit (Diagram 1).
2.
Hold nozzle over a wastebasket. Grasp filter by
placing finger in the center and pull 'straight out.
Empty filter and dirt cup (Diagram 2).
*Wet/Dry models only: Remove the *deflector and filter
from the dirt cup (Diagram 2a). Dump liquid waste down
a drain or dirt into a wastebasket.
If necessary, clean the dirt cup, the *deflector and the filter
with cold or lukewarm water. The dirt cup and *deflector
may also be cleaned in a dishwasher.
IMPORTANT:
Be sure filter and dirt cup are completely
dry before next dry pick up use.

NOTE:
For best performance, replace filter periodically or when filter has been
damaged.
1. Slide the ring holding the edge of the filter upward
and remove the old filter (Diagram 1).
2. Slide the new filter onto the filter frame (Diagram 2).
3. Push the ring down to fasten the filter (Diagram 3).
4. Push the tip of the dustbag inwards (Diagram 4).

Remove the batteries when you discard the appliance. DO NOT
throw the batteries away with the normal household waste, but
hand them in at an official collection point.
Only remove the batteries if they are completely empty.
1. Let the appliance run until it stops, undo the screws and open
the vacuum cleaner (Diagram
1).
2. Cut the connecting wires one by one and remove the batter-
ies (Diagram

material or workmanship commencing upon the date of the original purchase. Refer to your vac-
uum cleaner carton for the length of warranty and save your original sales receipt to validate start
of warranty period.
If the vacuum cleaner should become defective within the warranty period, we will repair or replace any
defective partsfree of charge. The complete machine must be delivered -to any ROYALaAuthorized
Sales &Warranty Service Station. Please include complete description of the problem, day of pur-
chase, copy of original sales receipt and your name, address and telephone number. If you are
not near a Warranty Station, call the factory for assistance in the USA

Use only genuine Royala replacement parts.
The warranty does not include unusual wear, damage resulting from accident or unreasonable use
of the vacuum cleaner. This warranty does not cover belts, brushes, bags, filters, bulbs or fan
damage. This warranty does not cover unauthorized repairs. This warranty gives you specific
