Brief instructions
Hints & Tips for the Food Sensor
The Food Sensor is a temperature probe wirelessly
connected to an antenna located under the surface of the
hob, in the area between the two rear cooking zones.
The antenna of the Food Sensor is located inside its
handle. Make sure you do not cover it with metal objects
(e.g. do not let the Food Sensor drop into a pot while
cooking).
To establish the best connection between the Food Sensor
and the hob, place a pot on one of the left cooking zones
and put the Food Sensor into the pot at 1-3 o’clock position.
Place cookware in the centre of the selected cooking zone.
Make sure that the bottom diameter does not exceed the
marking of the cooking zone.
Large cookware used on the left rear cooking zone may
block the signal while you are using the Food Sensor on
the left front cooking zone. To make sure the connection is
established and maintained, use the cooking zones on the
right for cooking without the Food Sensor while it is in use.
Signal indicators:
- strong / medium / weak signal
- no signal
To improve the signal, move the Food Sensor in the
direction of the antenna or move the pot.
For all functions, e.g.
Assisted Cooking and Sous
Vide, you can use the Food
Sensor on the left side of the
hob only.
With the Thermometer
function you can use the Food
Sensor also on the right side
of the hob.
Place the Food Sensor close
to the centre of the hob at 9-11
o’clock position.
Place the Food Sensor on the rim of the pot or pan by the
hook; close to the area with the antenna, at 1-3 o’clock
position (for the left side of the hob) or 9-11 o’clock
position (for the right side of the hob).
Sous Vide
With Sous Vide you can prepare your food at a low
temperature, which helps you save the vitamins and
achieve the best taste. With appropriate temperatures
and cooking times your dishes will always be delicious.
Refer to the Cooking Guide available in the User Manual
to make the most of this function.
Defrost food before preparing it. Put seasoned food into
bags and vacuum seal them.
Fill the pot with water and put the Food Sensor
inside. Make sure that the water level reaches the
recommended immersion range.
Start the Sous Vide program.
Once the appropriate temperature is reached, put the
bags into the water. Use a lid.
You can start Sous Vide in two ways.
If you activate it from the Menu, you are able to choose
your own temperatures (between 35 – 85 °C).
If you activate Sous Vide via Assisted Cooking, the
temperatures are pre-dened for dierent dishes.
Your hob provides you with clear settings and instructions
to follow.
Make sure you abide by the rules of cooking at low
temperatures. Refer to the User Manual for more
information on the subject.
KeepTemperature
The Food Sensor can also be used to prepare food
without having to vacuum seal it. In this use, it helps you
maintain a constant temperature of your dish throughout
the cooking session. Remember to stir the food regularly
to avoid burning it.
TIP: You will get the best
results if you position the
bags vertically and fully
cover them with water.
Sous Vide & KeepTemperature
You can use the Food Sensor to measure the temperature inside the food, i.e. the core
temperature.
Place the Food Sensor so that its measurement point is positioned in the central, thickest
part of the food, especially for thin slices. For thicker portions of meat insert the Food
Sensor at least up to the minimum marked level.
Activate the Thermometer function from the Menu to check the temperature of your dish.
You can also use the Food Sensor with the Assisted Cooking / Pan Fry function with pre-
dened cooking parameters for various dishes. Use the Food Sensor to control the core
temperature.
If you want to prepare a thin slice of food with the use of the Pan Fry function, remember to
turn it over when it reaches a half of the desired temperature.
For very thick portions of food turn them over more often.
We recommend that you use the Sous Vide method rst to get the best results. To add a
nishing touch, put the prepared portions on a pre-heated pan and roast them quickly on
both sides.
