Ambia ACH-220 is a two zone, ceramic heater with a variety of use situations. It can be used combined, tethered, or independent.

Combined - Both heat modules are attached to each other and used as a single heat source. Tethered - Each heater module is in a different position, connected by the interconnect tether. Independent (ACH-260 only) - The two modules are used as two completely separate heaters.

Each module has an independent control panel that allows you to set the desired temperature and power settings. The heater also has an AUTO thermostat control that allows you to set a desired temperature and the heater will automatically turn on and off to maintain that temperature.

Ambia ACH-220 is a two zone, ceramic heater with a variety of use situations. It can be used combined, tethered, or independent.

1. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

1. Read all instructions before using this heater.

2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch

hot surface. If provided, use handles when moving this heater. Keep

combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers,

clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater

and keep them away from the sides and rear.

3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children

or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.

4. Always unplug heater when not in use.

5. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the

heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner.

Return heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical or

mechanical adjustment, or repair.

6. Do not use outdoors.

7. This heater is not intended for use in bathroom, laundry areas and

similar moist indoor locations. Never locate heater where it may fall

into a bathtub or other water container.

8. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs,

runners, or the like. Arrange cord away from trafﬁc areas where it will

not be tripped over.

9. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other).

To reduce the risk of shock, this plug is intended to ﬁt only one way in

a polarized outlet. If the plug does not ﬁt fully in the outlet, reverse the

plug. If it still does not ﬁt, contact a qualiﬁed electrician. DO NOT attempt

to defeat this safety feature.

10. This heater draws 12.5 amps during operation. To prevent overloading

a circuit, do not plug the heater into a circuit that already has other

appliances working.

11. It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose ﬁt

between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and

distortion of the plug. Contact a qualiﬁed electrician to replace loose or

worn outlet.

12. To disconnect the heater, ﬁrst set controls to the OFF position, then grip

the plug and pull it from the wall outlet. Never pull by the cord.

13. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust

opening as this may cause an electric shock or ﬁre, or damage the heater.

14. To prevent a possible ﬁre, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any

manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may

become blocked.

15. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in the

areas where gasoline, paint, or ﬂammable liquids are used or stored.

16. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not

recommended by the manufacturer may cause ﬁre, electric shock, or

injury to persons.

17. Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord may

overheat and cause a risk of ﬁre. However, if you have to use an

extension cord, the cord shall be No. 14 AWG minimum size and

rated not less than 1875 watts.

18. The output of this heater may vary and its temperature may become

intense enough to burn exposed skin. Use of this heater is not recom-

mended for persons with reduced sensitivity to heat or an inability to

react to avoid burns.

2. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

SITUATING YOUR TWO ZONE HEATER

Your heater has been designed with a variety of use situations in mind.

The basic uses are:

1. Combined: Both heat modules attached to each other, used as a single

heat source.

2. Separated: Each heater module in a different position, connected by the

interconnect tether.

3. Independent (ACH-260 Only): Use the two modules as completely

separate heaters.

COMBINED

Place the heater where desired, taking careful note of the safety guidelines

listed in Section 3 of this manual. Please see the Controlling Your Heater

section for further instructions.

TETHERED

A unique aspect of your Two Zone Heater is the ability

to locate the two heater modules in separate locations.

To separate modules:

1. Hold the TOP MODULE by the handle with one hand,

and place other hand on the rear top surface of the

BOTTOM MODULE.

2. Pull the TOP MODULE forward, tilting the back of the

TOP MODULE up and away from the BOTTOM MOD-

ULE.

3. Once the rear of the TOP MODULE is clear of the BOT-

TOM MODULE, lift it up and the modules will separate.

To combine modules:

1. Hold the TOP MODULE by the handle, tilting the module

down in front at about a 45 degree angle.

2. Lower the front edge of the TOP MODULE down so the

locking tabs ﬁt into the receiving tabs on the BOTTOM

MODULE.

3. Once the tabs have engaged, lower the rear of the TOP MODULE until it is ﬁrmly

seated.

To make routing the interconnect cord

easier, it can be disconnected from the base

unit, and reconnected after you’ve located

the module where you want it.

INDEPENDENT (ACH-260 ONLY)

The ACH-260 cord connection is a standard

wall plug head. You may plug the satellite

module in to any regular outlet, and con-

trol it independently from the base unit – a

completely separate heater. The base has a

standard AC outlet – remember never to

plug anything other than the satellite

heater module into this outlet.

3. CONTROLING YOUR HEATER

ACH-220 Controls

DISPLAY: indicates the set desired

temperature

POWER button: cycles through the

various power settings for the heater.

Position 1 powers both modules. Position 2 powers only the BOTTOM

MODULE, and Position 3 powers only the TOP MODULE. HOLD THE BUTTON

DOWN FOR 3 SECONDS TO TURN HEATER OFF.

AUTO button: toggles between manual mode and AUTO thermostat control.

When ﬁrst connected, the unit is in manual mode; the modules run continu-

ously until turned off. One press switches to AUTO, which allows you to set a

desired temperature using the TEMP + and TEMP - buttons. The AUTO light on

the control panel indicates when the heater is in AUTO mode.

UP button: TEMP + button: increases the set desired temperature for

AUTO mode. YOU MUST FIRST SELECT AUTO MODE FOR THIS TEMPERATURE

SETTING TO CONTROL THE HEATER.

DOWN button: TEMP - button: decreases the set desired temperature

for AUTO mode. YOU MUST FIRST SELECT AUTO MODE FOR THIS

TEMPERATURE SETTING TO CONTROL THE HEATER.

ACH-260 Dual

Climate Control

Each module of the ACH-260 has an independent control panel. The

controls function differently when the modules are Combined as one heater,

and when they are separated.

COMBINED: The controls on the top

module manage the entire heater as

follows:

Display: indicates the set desired

temperature

POWER button: cycles through the various power settings for the heater.

Position 1 powers both modules. Position 2 powers only the BOTTOM MODULE,

and Position 3 powers only the TOP MODULE. HOLD THE BUTTON DOWN

FOR 3 SECONDS TO TURN HEATER OFF.

TETHERED OR INDEPENDENT: Both modules can be independently powered

and adjusted as follows:

DISPLAY: indicates the set desired temperature

POWER button: One push turns the module on. Holding the button for

3 seconds turns the module off.

AUTO button: toggles between manual mode and AUTO thermostat control.

When ﬁrst connected, the unit is in manual mode; the modules run continuously

until turned off. One press switches to AUTO, which allows you to set a desired

temperature using the TEMP + and TEMP - buttons. The AUTO light on the

control panel indicates when the heater is in AUTO mode.

4. TROUBLESHOOTING

If your heater shuts off unexpectedly, safety features may have been activated

to prevent overheating. If this happens:

• Be sure the power cord is plugged into a working electrical outlet.

• AUTO mode: Check to see if the light marked “AUTO” on the control

panel is illuminated. If it is, the heater may simply be off because the

heater has reached the set temperature. To resume operation, either press

the AUTO button to switch from AUTO MODE to manual, or increase the

set temperature using the UP button.

• Check for any obstructions. If you nd one, turn the heater OFF and unplug

it. Wait at least 10 minutes to allow the heater to cool completely before

removing any obstruction. When done, plug-in the heater and follow the

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS.

• Be sure the heat from one module is not being drawn into the intake for the

other module. This will create an overheat situation, shutting down your

heater. If this has occurred, turn off and unplug the heater and allow it to

cool for at least 10 minutes. Plug in the heater and resume operation.

3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

The Fulham Group Inc. (“Fulham”) warrants that for a period of three years

from the date of purchase, this product will be free from defects in material

and workmanship. Fulham, at its option, will repair or replace this product

or any component of the product found to be defective during the warranty

period. Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or

component. If the product is no longer available, replacement may be made

with a similar product of equal or greater value.

This is your exclusive warranty. Do NOT attempt to repair or adjust any

electrical or mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void this

warranty. This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date

of initial retail purchase and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt.

Proof of purchase is required to obtain warranty performance. Fulham dealers,

service centers, or retail stores selling Fulham products do not have the right

to alter, modify or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from

any of the following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper

voltage or current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly,

repair or alteration by anyone other than Fulham or an authorized Fulham

service center. Further, the warranty does not cover: Acts of God, such as ﬁre,

ﬂood, hurricanes and tornadoes.

Liability Limits:

Fulham shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused

by the breach of any express, implied or statutory warranty or condition.

Except to the extent prohibited by applicable law, any implied warranty or

condition of merchantability or ﬁtness for a particular purpose is limited in

duration to the duration of the above warranty. Fulham disclaims all other

warranties, conditions or representations, express, implied, statutory or

otherwise. Fulham shall not be liable for any damages of any kind resulting

from the purchase, use or misuse of, or inability to use the product including

6. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

We recommend that the heater be cleaned at least once a month and before

off-season storage.

• Turn the heater OFF and unplug it. Allow it to cool completely.

• Use only a dry cloth to clean the external surfaces of the heater.

DO NOT USE WATER, WAX, POLISH, OR ANY CHEMICAL

SOLUTION.

• Clean your heater using the above-mentioned steps, then pack the heater in

its original container and store it in a cool, dry place.
