ezLINQ: First Time Setup Overview
1. Activate (netTALK ID required)
Activate your phone service.

1. Activate your new VoIP phone service at nettalkconnect.com
a. Create an alias
b. Select a phone number
c. Register your e911 address
d. Setup AutoPay
2. Setup (handset phone and internet required)
Setup your ezLINQ in your home or office.
1. Power: Plug the ezLINQ into an electrical outlet.
2. Phone: Attach a phone to the ezLINQ. If needed, use the included
phone
cable.
3. Internet: Attach the ezLINQ to a modem or router. If needed, use the included
ethernet
cable.
(If you plan to connect to a WiFi network, then there is no need
to use the ethernet cable.)
3. Configure (iOS or Android device required)
Configure your ezLINQ with phone service and internet access.

1. Download and Install the TALK App (available at nettalk.com/app)
2. Login and go to “More” > “Manage ezLINQ”
3. Select “Setup Wizard”
a. Assign a VoIP phone service
b. Connect to a WiFi network
c. Change default router mode (optional, coming soon)
4. Wait for the LED light on the ezLINQ to go from “blinking blue” to “solid light-blue”
5. After the LED light turns “solid light-blue”, pick up your phone handset. You
should hear a dial tone and you should be able to make and receive calls

How to activate your netTALK VoIP phone service.

1. Visit https://nettalkconnect.com/user/login and sign in with your netTALK ID.
Your netTALK ID is the email address you used when you purchased the ezLINQ from
nettalkconnect.com.
2. If you purchased your ezLINQ from a third party seller and you have never created a
netTALK ID, then create your free netTALK ID now at
https://nettalkconnect.com/user/registration
3. After signing in, click on “Residential Phone” to see a list of all your VoIP accounts.
4. Find the new “NexGen” VoIP service that came with your ezLINQ.
5. Click on “Activate”
6. Step 1: Create an Alias for this VoIP service
a. Tip: Create an Alias that will quickly identify who will use the account or where
the account will be used. (i.e. John or Home)
7. Step 2: Select a phone number
a. Each ezLINQ comes with a free U.S. or Canada phone number.
8. Step 3: Register e911 Address
a. Enter the address where the device will be used.
9. Step 4: Set Up AutoPay
a. Enter your payment method.
10. Step 5: Setup & Configure - use the TALK App to assign the VoIP service to the ezLINQ.
11. Activation Complete!
Note: After activating your VoIP phone service, you can start using the VoIP phone service on
the TALK App to make and receive calls.

How to connect a standard handset phone to the
ezLINQ
1. If you have a cordless handset phone, plug the base into an electrical outlet.
2. Connect your phone to the ezLINQ “PHONE” port. (You can use the gray phone cable
included in the box)
3. If you haven’t already done so, use the TALK App to assign your netTALK VoIP phone
service to the ezLINQ.
4. If you already assigned your netTALK VoIP phone service to the ezLINQ, then you
should hear a dial tone when you pick up the phone.
a. If you don’t hear a dial tone, unplug and replug the ezLINQ into the electrical
outlet to power cycle the ezLINQ and force it to reconnect to the netTALK Calling
System. When the LED light turns solid light-blue, then the ezLINQ has finished
connecting to the netTALK Calling System. You should now hear the dial tone.

How to assign an active VoIP phone service to the
ezLINQ.

Before beginning, make sure you have the QR code or MAC address of your ezLINQ,
available, ready to be used.
1. The ezLINQ should already be plugged into an electrical outlet
2. Wait for LED light to start blinking blue. This means the ezLINQ is broadcasting it’s
SSID.
3. Download and Install TALK App (available at nettalk.com/app)
4. Open the TALK App
5. Use your email and password to login to the TALK App
6. As soon as you log in, you will see a list of your VoIP accounts.
7. Select an account to use the TALK App.
8. Press the “More” button, located in the bottom right corner
9. Press “Manage ezLINQ” from the menu
10. Press “First Time Setup Wizard”
11. On the next screen, you will see a list of your VoIP accounts
12. Select the VoIP phone service you want to assign to the ezLINQ
13. Before continuing…
a. Confirm that the ezLINQ is plugged into an outlet and broadcasting the SSID.
b. You should have the QR code label which was on the device and have it ready to
be scanned.
c. If you don’t have the QR code, you should have written down the MAC Address
of the ezLINQ
14. Press “Start Scan”
15. On the next screen, point your device’s camera to the QR code to scan it.
16. After the scanner scans the QR code, the TALK App should automatically start
configuring your VoIP phone service to your ezLINQ.
17. Please wait. Depending on your internet connection speed, it could take up to a few
minutes.
18. If successful, a success message will be display to let you know that your VoIP phone
service has been successfully configured.
19. Now you need to connect the ezLINQ to your home or office internet. If you plan to
connect your ezLINQ via WiFi, then continue to Step 2 in the configuration process using
the TALK App.

1. After assigning your VoIP phone service, you will be prompted to continue to connect the
ezLINQ to your home or office internet.
2. Select “Connect via WiFi”.
3. On the next screen, a list of available WiFi networks will be displayed.
4. Select the SSID of the WiFi network you want to connect to.
5. You will be prompted to enter the password to the WiFi network.
6. Enter the password.
7. The TALK App will save the WiFi credentials to your ezLINQ. A success message will be
displayed after it’s complete.

Connect to a modem
Connect the blue ezLINQ port, labeled “Internet”, to the “data out” ethernet port on the
modem using the blue CAT5e ethernet cable (included in the box).
Connect to a router
Connect the blue ezLINQ port labeled “Internet” to the an open “data out” ethernet port
on the router using the blue CAT5e ethernet cable (included in the box).

How to setup Wireless Router Mode (default mode)
(Create a WiFi network)
Wireless Router Mode
Connects to a DSL or cable modem and functions
as an N300 Wireless router.
Use anywhere a router is needed to
connect to a modem and create a wireless
internet network.
Setup Steps:
1. Write down the SSID and Passphrase
located on the label under your ezLINQ.
2. Plug the ezLINQ to an electrical outlet.
3. Use the blue ethernet cable to connect
your internet modem to the blue ezLINQ
port labeled “INTERNET”.
4. Wait for the LED light to turn solid blue.
5. The ezLINQ broadcasts its own WiFi signal
with an SSID label.
6. Connect your WiFi-enabled devices to this
SSID. Enter the passphrase for the SSID.
7. Your WiFi-enabled devices should now
have internet access.

How to setup Client Mode (TV/Game Console/etc)
(Make any Ethernet-enabled device WiFi-enabled)
Client Mode or Extender Mode
(TV/Game Console)
Connects to another device via Ethernet cable and
acts as an external adaptor to send/receive
wireless signal from your wireless network.
For your Smart TV, Media Player, game
console, or other devices with a built-in
Ethernet port. Connect your device to the
INTERNET port to make it Wi-Fi enabled,
granting it access to your wireless network.
Setup Steps:
1. Plug the ezLINQ to an electrical outlet.
2. Use the TALK App to connect the ezLINQ
to a WiFi network with internet access.
3. Power cycle the ezLINQ and then wait for
the LED light to turn solid blue.
4. Connect an ethernet-enabled device, such
as a TV or Game Console, to the yellow
ezLINQ port labeled “ETHERNET”.
5. Your ethernet-enabled device should now
have internet access.

How to setup Repeater Mode
(Eliminate WiFi Dead Zones)
Repeater Mode
Receives and broadcasts your existing wireless
signal to extend wireless range (the network SSID
and password will not change). This mode is
especially useful for covering areas that receive
little or no wireless signal strength.
Use in a large house, office, warehouse or
anywhere the existing signal is weak and
unstable.
Setup Steps:
1. Write down the SSID and Passphrase
located on the label under your ezLINQ.
2. Plug the ezLINQ to an electrical outlet.
3. Use the TALK App to connect the ezLINQ
to a WiFi network with internet access.
4. Wait for the LED light to turn solid blue.
5. The ezLINQ broadcasts its own WiFi
signal with an SSID label.
6. Connect your WiFi-enabled devices to this
SSID. Enter the passphrase for the
SSID.
7. Your WiFi-enabled devices should now
have internet access.
8. You can also connect an
ethernet-enabled device to the yellow
ezLINQ port labeled “ETHERNET”.
9. You ethernet-enabled device should now
have internet access too.

How to setup Access Point Mode
(Convert a Wired Network to a WiFi Network)
Access Point Mode
Connect to a wired network and transform wired
Internet access into wireless allowing multiple
devices/users to share the Internet.
Home, office, and places where only
wired network is available. LAN parties,
meetings and other environments where a
temporary wireless network is needed.
Hotels where wireless internet or multiple
devices are charged for a higher fee.
Setup Steps:
1. Write down the SSID and Passphrase
located on the label under your ezLINQ.
2. Plug the ezLINQ to an electrical outlet.
3. Use the blue ethernet cable to connect
the blue ezLINQ port labeled
“INTERNET” to a wall ethernet port or a
router, that is providing internet access.
4. Wait for the LED light to turn solid blue.
5. The ezLINQ broadcasts its own WiFi
signal with an SSID label.
6. Connect your WiFi-enabled devices to this
SSID. Enter the passphrase for the
SSID.
7. Your WiFi-enabled devices should now
have internet access.

How to setup WISP Client Router Mode
(Create a WiFi Hotspot)
WISP Client Router Mode
Connect to an outdoor WISP (Wireless Internet
Service Provider) Access Point to allow multiple
devices/users to share the same wireless internet
connection.
For WISP subscribers, log in to the WISP
account to establish a Wi-Fi hotspot
through an outdoor WISP AP.
Setup Steps:
1. Write down the SSID and Passphrase
located on the label under your ezLINQ.
2. Plug the ezLINQ to an electrical outlet.
3. Use the TALK App to connect the
ezLINQ to a WiFi signal provided by your
Internet Service Provider (ISP).
4. Wait for the LED light to turn solid blue.
5. The ezLINQ broadcasts its own WiFi
signal with an SSID label.
6. Connect your WiFi-enabled devices to this
SSID. Enter the passphrase for the
SSID.
7. Your WiFi-enabled devices should now
have internet access on the WiFi signal
provided by your ISP.

How to use the ezLINQ’s USB port
USB: Charge your phone
The USB port can be used to charge your smartphone.
USB: Create a network drive
Connect a USB Flash Drive into the USB port to create
network drive accessible to anyone on the network. You
can easily share files with anyone on the network.
USB: Stream media on your network
Connect a USB Flash Drive into the USB port to stream
audio and videos to any device connected on the
network such as a TV or Game Console.

How to reset your ezLINQ to default factory settings
Press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds
until the green LED light turns blue and starts
blinking.
The reset is complete when the LED light
stops blinking and stays solid blue.

Troubleshooting
Issue: ezLINQ fails to register with the netTALK Calling System.
To confirm issue: When you pick up your phone handset, you hear the following recording,
“Register Failed”.
To resolve issue:
1. Unplug the ezLINQ from the electrical outlet and then plug it in again.
This will power cycle the ezLINQ and cause it to restart and connect to the netTALK
Calling System.
2. Wait for the LED light to change from blinking blue to solid light-blue.
When the LED light turns to solid light-blue then the ezLINQ should be registered and
you should be able to make and receive calls.
