Programming System Features

The System Features Learn Routine dictates how the unit operates. It

is possible to access and change most of the feature settings using

the Control button/valet switch. (see

Feature Menus)

1. Turn the ignition On, then off.

2. Within 15 seconds, Press and release the Control button/

valet switch the number of times corresponding to the feature

you want to program. (See Feature Menu section).

3. Press the button one more time and HOLD it, the horn honks

and the LED ﬂashes to indicate which feature number is

selected. For example, groups of 8 ﬂashes indicate feature

8 is selected.

4. While still holding the Control button/valet switch, use the

remote control to select the desired setting. As shipped the

remote control is conﬁgured to the LED On settings.

5. Press the

button to select LED On. The LED light solids and

the horn honks one time. Press the

button to change to

LED Off setting. The LED goes out to indicate the change, and

the horn honks twice.

The learn routine exits if any of the following occurs:

s The ignition is turned On

s There is no activity for 15 seconds

s The Control button/valet switch is pressed too many times

Remote Control Programming

The system comes with one remote control that has been taught to

the control module. The control module can store up to four different

remote control codes in memory.

Turn key to the On position

2. Within 10 seconds,

press and release the Control button/

valet switch the number of times corresponding to the desired

channel as shown in the following table.

3. Once you have selected the channel, press the Control button

once more and HOLD it. The horn honks and the LED ﬂashes

to conﬁrm the selected channel. Do not release the Control

button.

4. While holding the Control button/valet switch, press the but-

ton on the remote to be assigned to the selected channel.

The horn honks indicating successful programming. It is not

possible to teach a remote control button to the system more

than once.

5. Once the code is learned, the Control button may be re-

leased.

Remote Control Functions

Channel 8: If any button from a remote is programmed to Channel

8, all remotes are erased from memory. System features revert to

the default settings.

This is useful if a remote is lost or stolen, all programming is erased

from memory. You are also able to start from scratch if the remote

buttons were programmed incorrectly.

The programming routine exits if any of the following

occurs:

s The ignition is turned off

s There is no activity for 15 seconds

s The Control button/valet switch is pressed too many times

System maintenance

The system requires no speciﬁc maintenance beyond battery re-

placement for the remote controls. Your remote is powered by a

coin cell battery (3V CR2032) that lasts approximately one year

under normal use. When the battery begins to weaken operating

range is reduced.

Battery replacement

Locate the small slot on the side of the remote control. Insert a small

slotted screwdriver or equivalent tool into slot and pry the case

apart. Replace battery while verifying the correct polarity and then

snap case together.

Remote Control Functions

The remote control buttons are used to send commands to the sys-

tem.

Standard conﬁguration

Lock: Press on the remote control.

Unlock: Press

on the remote control.

Panic: Press to activate panic mode.

Audible Mode: Press

to operate Audible mode

™

or an op-

tional auxiliary function.

s To receive conﬁrmation honks, press before locking

and unlocking.

s An optional auxiliary function such as trunk release may be

controlled by pressing and holding

for 2 seconds.

Channel 3 Auxiliary: Press and simultaneously to operate

an expansion option. See Convenience expansion options section.

Using the System

Locking

Pressing for one second locks the doors and activates the op-

tional Failsafe Starter Kill. (the starter kill prevents the starter from

cranking, when installed.) The horn will honk (If audible is turned

on by pressing

before you press ), and the parking lights

ﬂash one time to conﬁrm the system is locked.

The LED ﬂashes once per second continually while the system is

locked.

Pressing the

button again within 3 seconds of ﬁrst press acti-

vates Audible Mode for the single operation only.

Important: Manually locking the vehicle does not disable the

starter kill.

Unlocking

Pressing for one second unlocks the doors. The horn honks

twice - (If audible mode is turned on by pressing

before you

press ) - and the parking lights ﬂash twice to conﬁrm unlock-

ing of the system.

Disabling the system without a transmitter

If your remote transmitter is lost or damaged, you can manually

override the starter kill. You must have the vehicle's ignition key and

know where the Control button/Valet switch is located. For refer-

ence, you may want to note the location of the Control button/valet

switch in this guide.

To bypass the starter kill:

1. Turn the ignition On.

2. Press and release the Control button/valet switch within 10

seconds.

The status LED stops ﬂashing and the vehicle may be started.

If the vehicle does not start, you may have waited too long.

Turn the ignition off and repeat the process.

Audible Mode

To temporarily turn on the lock or unlock horn honk(s), press

before locking or unlocking. The conﬁrmation honk(s) sound for the

single operation only.
