Dometic has developed a version of the electric actuator with input
from BASS boat builders to provide the fast steering response, high
precision control and safety required to get to your fishing hole as
quickly as possible. The fatigue you may get from the traditional
hydraulic steering is now gone with Optimus Electric Steering.
The electric actuator steering parameters have been already set to
give the highest performance steering. The electric actuator and
electronic helm work together to provide the feel of control and
comfort experienced when your on the water doing your favorite
activity, fishing.

• Very low free play at steering wheel – helps control chime walk
• Steering response time and speed is much quicker with little effort
• Symmetric helm feel when turning to port or starboard
• Faster steering response with no load dependent variation
• Higher precision control which means no steering creep
• Higher position holding power against back driving load
• Programmed helm resistance for high speed steering wheel stability
• Number of turns default set to 3.5 no variation due to load
• The electric steering system removes all hydraulic steering fluid from
the boat
• Simpler & Faster installation with fewer splash well perforations
