BLU-GM2
BLUETOOTH MUSIC STREAMING INSTALLATION GUIDE FOR SELECT 1995-04 CADILLAC & OLDSMOBILE
PRE-WIRED FOR CD CHANGER
Created October 10, 2016
Revised January 27, 2021
Introduction:
Many Cadillac & Oldsmobile owners with older cars will be pleased to know they
can upgrade to music steaming without changing the radio. The BLU-GM2
Bluetooth music kit works on radios with CD changer controls but replaces CD
changer (if present). A wireless connection means no wires, clutter or
complicated setup. All the user has to do is connect the module to factory 10-
pin plug (must have 10-pin plug), pair Smartphone, Tablet etc. and enjoy tons
of applications including Pandora, Apple music, GPS and more on car stereo.
See Frequently Asked question at the end of this guide for details.
Module connects to factory 10-pin plug which is reserved
for optional CD changer usually in remote area (Glovebox,
armrest, trunk/hatch etc.) Please verify your vehicle has
required 10-pin plug (See Fig. 1) prior to ordering.
Installation: (To factory 10-pin CD changer plug)
1. Locate factory 10-pin plug in remote area (e.g., armrest, glovebox,
hatch, trunk etc.)
Note: CD changer (if present) must be disconnected.
2. Connect factory 10-pin plug (See Fig. 1) to installation harness 10-pin
connector (white) (See Fig. 2 & 3)

4. Ensure module dip-switches #3 and #8 are “ON” or down (See Fig. 5)
Note: If after installation, radio fails to enter “CD changer” mode,
disconnect module 22-pin plug and move switch #1 “ON” so that 1, 3
and 8 are “ON”. Reconnect module and try again.

5. Connect/Tap installation harness red wire to a 12V accessory source
in vehicle. We suggest yellow wire (pin F2) on factory radio 32-pin plug
See Fig. 4.
Other sources include ignition harness, fuse panel etc.
Do not connect red wire to 12V battery (always on) supply wire.

Frequent asked questions
1. My radio has a “Source” button but does not have a 10-pin plug. Will
the BLU-GM2 work?
NO! For the BLU-GM2 to work, vehicle must be wired with 10-pin plug
usually reserved for optional CD changer. If vehicle does not have a 10-
pin plug, the BLU-GM2 will NOT apply.
2. My vehicle has a CD changer in glovebox. Will it continue working after
installing the BLU-GM2?
NO; the BLU-GM2 replaces CD changer (changer must be disconnected and
will no longer play). Purchase our A2D-GM2 for both Bluetooth and cd
changer retention.
3. Does removing the BLU-GM2 cause any troubles with vehicle wiring?
NO; the BLU-GM2 does not interfere with factory wiring integrity. Once
disconnected the system will function as it did prior.
4. How good is sound quality?
Sound quality is very good and without static or interference provided
vehicles electrical systems are up to standards.
5. Can I use the BLU-GM2 to make/receive phone calls?
NO; supports Bluetooth music streaming (NOT for Hands-Fee calls).
6. What happens if the phone rings while streaming?
The radio will mute and users may take the call on the handset (as in
portable mode). Once call ends, music streaming resumes automatically.
7. Pressing the “Source” button on radio does nothing. Is this a faulty
module?
The module is shipped with dip switches #3 and 8 in the “ONposition,
however some radios may not respond to this setting in which case we
recommend disconnecting module 22-pin plug and move switch #1 “ON” so
that 1, 3 and 8 are “ON”. Reconnect module and try again.
