1. Check the sleep button is in the slot inside
the rear case as shown below.

obstructions

.
3. Check the front case lower support blocks
and top washers are in place as shown.
4. Check that the screen seal and Home

positioned onto the case so the seal lip fits
snugly around the screen aperture - gently

the inner edge.

If you do not wish to use the camera for confidentiality
reasons place a sticker or blanking disc over the camera
window.

check the function of the sleep button. It
should definitely ‘click’ on/off.
10. When the function of the sleep button
feels satisfactory insert 4 case screws into
screw ports 1-4 as shown; while holding
the rear case in position screw down the
screws until fully home
3

finger tight) and the case halves closed
properly together - the case seal will
compress.
2
If using the Audio version fully insert the 3.5mm audio jack
into the iPad audio socket before closing the case.
3
DO NOT use a power screwdriver as it will damage the screw
bosses. A torque of 0.5N.m (50cN.m) is recommended.

Cleaning
Tough-PAC may be cleaned using household or
professional disinfectant or detergent wipes.
Isopropyl alcohol or weak ‘active oxygen’ based
sprays are also acceptable (according to your local
cross infection control policy). Clean the camera
ports and/or screen with a micro-fibre cloth. DO
NOT use any acid or solvent (e.g. Acetone) based or
abrasive cleaning materials else damage to the
plastic parts will occur.
Port plug removal
Using a pointed tool or tweezers firmly pierce the
centre of the plug at an angle and pull it out
vertically. Do not lever out the plugs it will
damage the plastic housing. Replace with a new
plug on re-assembly.
Warranty
Tough-PAC case and cradle is guaranteed for 12
months from date of purchase against faulty parts
or manufacturing defects. Please Call or email
Innervision with details of the problem, where
necessary we will issue a return number for you to
send it back to your reseller or Innervision for
repair or replacement.
Limitations of liability.
The product warranty does not cover damage or
faults caused by abuse, misuse, accidental damage,
drops, immersion or incorrect assembly of the
product. This includes over tightening of screws
into plastic housings or exposure to harmful
chemical cleaning agents, solvents (e.g. Acetone),
adhesives or excessive heat.
Tough-PAC® cannot protect iPad against all forms
of damage. The user is responsible for proper
handling care and use of this equipment.
Tough-PAC has an IP rating of IP5x (dust protected)
and IPx3 (light spray) for fluid ingress. Tough-PAC is
not waterproof.
Charging iPad in Tough-PAC
Dock the assembled Tough-PAC & iPad case into the
cradle cup, handle upwards, screen facing forwards.
The iPad will begin charging indicated by the
battery sign and bleep. For best results allow iPad
to enter into sleep mode whilst charging. When
using a USB cradle connected to a PC or Mac
computer, iPad may begin synchronising via iTunes.
Innervision Technology Ltd SOP002/F/MFG/280214
SOP002_Air_Assembly Instructions Page 4 Effective Date 24/9/14
The setup and use of iPad will affect its charging
rate; especially screen brightness, use of cellular
services, and allowing sleep mode whilst charging.
See www.apple.com/batteries/ipad.html for more
information about charging iPad. Battery life is
model and use dependent.
If a 'Not Charging' message is seen when attached
to a PC or Mac there may not be adequate power
output from the PC USB port, iPad requires at least
1A output. Some USB ports only provide 0.5A.
Trouble shooting
The sleep/power button is being held on; iPad
shows the shut down message? Recheck the
assembly. If necessary Loosen the ‘last’ screw
nearest the rear camera window ½ a turn until the
button definitely clicks when pressed.
The case seems a little tight when docking into
the cradle recess or charging is not effective.
Check that the case screws are properly seated; it
may be necessary to tighten the case screws
slightly to pull the case fully together.
The iPad buttons do not seem to work properly.
Check the alignment and position of iPad in the
case. Adjust as necessary to achieve correct
functionality. The iPad Air's screen should be
central in the aperture window with a small border
showing evenly all the way around. The screen seal
is designed to have a small lip around the edge of
the screen aperture. The rear camera should be
just off central within the rear case aperture. The
sleep button should provide a definite click onto
iPad when pressed.
If the unit has been dropped it may be that iPad
has shifted and will need to be realigned.
iPad2 does not seem to fit properly
This variant of Tough-PAC is designed to fit iPad Air
only.
